Mia’s story is such an important one to be told. Being a sex worker myself, I fully empathize with her experience. There’s a stark difference between being coerced into sex work & voluntarily making the decision for yourself. I’m on the opposite side of this spectrum & have been very fortunate to not only have started as an adult woman in my 30s but to also be doing it on my own terms with the support of my friends & family. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for a lot of sex workers. There also weren’t as many options & platforms for us to produce our content independently when Mia was coming up so for anyone considering, if you’re certain this is the job you want, explore those avenues first before you sign your life away to predatory porn companies. Create your own space, name your own price & accept nothing less than what you rightfully deserve.

I think they both added that it also includes the fact you are actively working on yourself, therapy or not. They said they want to be associated with people who are in therapy OR actively working on them self, perhaps because they may have been heavily involved in people that weren’t doing either, which can be really damaging to an individual. It doesn’t need to involve money or wealth, it’s just a case of wanting to be a better person than you were yesterday and I think we all wanna be involved with people with that mindset

I HATE therapy. Every single mental healthcare worker I've been to in the past 15 years has been VERY unqualified for their job. My psychiatrist legit yells at his patients and calls them stupid to their face, I used to see a Harvard educated psychologist who straight up denied the abusive experiences I've had. Since he gives his patients his cellphone number, he texted me apologizing, BEGGING me to come back like the ex in a teen movie. The last therapist I've seen told my parents to tie me up, and lock me in the garage whenever they were upset with me for ANYTHING. I genuinely wouldn't want this on anyone. 😔

@Matthew J. Barnette there have been cases where judges let doctors get away with sexually harassing nurses. So the police in my area won't do shit until something like that happens. They're too stupid to take emotional abuse seriously. The last one happened when I was 4, and I just found out now, 15 years later, that it was a lie my parents told me as an obedience method. This was a good interview. Alex talked a lot lol. When she was talking about sex work being glamorized it made me think about the overwhelming amount of young girls on tiktok who are only showing the “glamorous” side of dancing and being sugar babies. I always comment and tell them nothing is wrong with that but show and talk about the negative side to sex work. It’s not all butterflies and rainbows.

This interview is empowering for women to talk about their experiences and to look at our experiences in retrospection and to support each other too. This is type of conversation we should encourage and be having with our girlfriends so that we can help each other grow, validate our experiences and appreciate each other for who we are.

When she said " run from guys who say you are very mature for your age ...." i Felt that. Alot of young girls think its so cool dating older guys but in all cases, those guys take advantage directly or indirectly of them.

thought I would just be checking this out briefly-sat through the whole hour. you guys have great chemistry which produced a really insightful and fulfilling conversation. you are both incredibly wise and bring a lot to the table in terms of personal insight and social commentary. alex you've shown that you are incredibly diverse: can go between being fun and humorous to thought provoking and heartfelt! uhg I loved this to much.
