Good one saved me some money on this as I was eager to get the ZV-1 Mark II but after this video I felt the Sony ZV-1 is just going to be fine for vlogs.
Just got pricing on the ZV-1 II. $899 USD for the camera alone and then they'll also be selling it in a bundle as well. What do you guys think? Is a new lens, mic, and full touchscreen controls enough to get you to upgrade?
I have the original ZV1 to thank for getting me into video content creation which led me into getting a ZVE10. This dual setup does what i need to do along with rode wireless go it's hard to beat value wise. The MKII is nice but I don't see myself upgrading my OG ZV1. Who knew that 3 years on I'm now considering myself as camera enthusiast 😅 it's so easy to fall into the trap buying a full frame rig, this camera alone is plenty for most peeps out there. Awesome video as always David! Always aspiring to be as good as you someday on how you present your videos. 🙌
No a go pro DOES NOT have a flash!! The flash is so important at a camera during night or day. With a phone you can't take same pictures without the flash especially in narrow dark streets, places with high contrast and in many occasions.
Your videos are super helpful and I know you love the camera and have ordered (which makes me want to upgrade from my mark 1) but everyone else seems to be complaining about the lens not having in built stabilisation and a few other missing features. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this is you wouldn’t mind sharing 😊
Nice review, I just subbed. I bought the ZV-1 shortly after it came out. Nice quality imagery but what slays me about the camera is the horrible battery life. It seems I can't film anything without the battery dying on me. And that's using Sony batteries. Don't even try using third-party batteries since they are far worse. Has the battery life improved at all with the Mark II?
Now that I've had the ZV-1 for nearly 2 years I can say after dealing with the absolutely horrendous battery life that I wish I hadn't bought it. I just purchased, but not yet received, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo. Great battery life and I think it will be far superior overall for my needs than the ZV-1. I still like the ZV-1's recording quality but unless you use a dummy battery to provide the power, it's s losing situation.
Thank you, my dear friend, for the beautiful Mboxing and the wonderful performance. Sony is a giant company in this field Your love from the Middle East
What makes it better than, say an iphone 14 pro? I like that camera but it’s hard to justify…i don’t like the front camera of my iphone 14 but i usually flip the phone when needed. Maybe the fact that it’s standalone, and that it’s a little better video quality makes it worth it!
I guess the quality is the same with an iphone 14pro but there are two major reasons to choose Sony ZV-1. First of all it is $400 cheaper! Second very important reason is the flash!! With a Sony Flash 📸 of $400 or a Godox $200 you have incredible pictures at night or at places with high contrast or not enough light. The flash is a very serious reason to choose Sony ZV-1. I have tried the l Flash during day and night and in some cases if i didn't have the flash i couldn't take any kind of picture. The flash is so important at a camera. I tried it and there is no comparison in some cases.
@@DavidManningvlog 500$ more for the slightly wider lense but with worse stabilization along with no real "better" features isn't justified at all. It's way overpriced, it actually makes the old ZV1 a way better buy by now
Agreed. This is the ZV-1 with some features removed. They moved the mounting plate, and a wider lens that took away the long end. I fixed those problems on my Zv-1 with an add on lens and an L bracket. This is not really an upgrade at all.
I have both. GoPro 11 can't zoom in so it's hard to get varied angles. It also needs a Media Mod to connect to an external mic. To change the battery, you need to remove both mic and Media Mod unless you have the battery grip which bloats the price. I still use GoPro but only when it's raining and underwater. Sony ZV-1 and II are simply more versatile. I regret buying the GoPro because of how hard it is to attach a mic and change the battery and overheating. I'd have preferred the Osmo Action 4 as attaching a mic is a breeze. Still I'd choose ZV1 II if i could only choose one.
First the ZV1 which i like than the ZVf and now the ZVm2..... I really have trouble understanding why I should upgrade. The zv1 with Ulanzi 18mm takes care of the crop. I'll wait until the zv1m2 is fully firmwared out
The Ulanzi lens worked great for me for a bit, but I always had to take it off to pack it away, then one time I didn't and just put it in the bag and the sticky bit pulled off the camera. I'm stoked that's all built in now, but man, I wish we would have gotten S-Cinetone🙌

This camera in my opinion should not be more expensive like $500 because honestly you get way better for results using your iPhone or your Samsung, convenience is King, plus the dynamic range in iPhone or Samsung kill this camera so baddd😢😢😢😢😢
But with a Sony professional Flash of $400 can fuck any iphone or smartphone. Do not forget the flash. Even with a cheap flash Godox of $100 Sony ZV-1 is out of competition. I thought you said it turned you on!
Should definitely balance it out with your iPhone on your other hip but with all that hip weight you're going to need some support. I recommend Jorts with white New Balances.
Máy gần 1000 usd khó cạnh tranh với iPhone
This camera in my opinion should not be more expensive like $500 because honestly you get way better for results using your iPhone or your Samsung, convenience is King, plus the dynamic range in iPhone or Samsung kill this camera so baddd😢😢😢😢😢
But with a Sony professional Flash of $400 can fuck any iphone or smartphone. Do not forget the flash. Even with a cheap flash Godox of $100 Sony ZV-1 is out of competition. Flash is a real must for any camera during the day or night. Especially at night photography smartphone is an absolute zero without a flash.
@@anastasios1985 No body go around caring a flash brother, not a valid point
David is such a stud! Wish I can pre order you with the camera! ❤😊
The reason why it’s still 30fps because it’s gonna overheat very quickly with that compact body
Expensive than ZV E10
I don't get why pay that kind of money for a 1080p camera?😮
Shoots 4K my man👍
@@DavidManningvlog I've been researching too much. Getting them mixed up! Now it's between this and the Canon GX7X. My bad!
ZV-1 mark1 doesn't record 120p videos, only 100p.
Buy a stick for 20 bucks and then the mark1
ZV-1 MARK 1 Giveaway...??? Hmmmmmm lol.
No 4k60??? Pfffff
Sorry but a wider lens but lost of stabilization and drop in aperture is a non-starter. Keeping my ZV-1 until the ZV-2 (maybe).
❤❤❤❤❤
not worth it for $899..if you want longer lens on the original ZV1, just buy the extention lens for $50...that's all you need
Where can I find that hip pack? Lol
I wish this video was filemd entirely with the Sony ZV-1M2
But then you wouldn't have seen the ZV-1M2
@@DavidManningvlog you could have use 2 of them. ;)
Can only stream at 720p in USB mode lol.
@Tommy's Touch the camera will only appear as a 720p device when using for video streaming like Teams, Zoom etc
