I wish they would an audio version to Tap Tempo, where you could play your part before recording and cubase extracts the average tempo, eg. play a bit of your guitar part and cubase sets to your average tempo then you can hit record and play.
Great video! Sounded a little Elfman’ish to me. Would love to see you do a video further explaining the chord pads, plus how to use the sample track with some of the included sample packs
This is awesome! Thank you! Do you think you would ever do a video that shows how to setup an orchestral session template for Cubase, along with creating articulation maps? That would be amazing because the composition you were creating in this video is exactly what interests me and makes me want to start using Cubase instead of my current DAW.

Cubase 13 fixes the only problem I've ever had with Cubase since I originally bought it at version 11, which was the application bar not completely closing on exit, causing me to have to close it a second time. That and all the other UI tweaks were worth the $69 sale price. The rest of the update didn't do much for me, but all the UI little things and fixes added up.
Two reasoms I used Ableton over Cubase lately was the sampler not having undo And the big one… being able to set the output of any track to any audio track and resample the output. Great overview, but next time you have a chance to speak with the Cubase people, can you suggest a functional drum sequencer (patterns in Studio One, or the step sequencer in Logic were both introduced 3+ years ago and are simple, yet great) It's kind of my only gripe with Cubase as a program (their plug-ins are another issue. The look and ease of use of Halion and Groove Agent give me DOS vibes, but that's probably a personal preference) The most expensive software with the most expensive updates should, in 2023, have a usable step/drum sequencer at the very least. All that being said, I was kind of underwhelmed by this update. Maybe the anticipation was high because of how long it took? It just seems like 12.5 rather than13. Your presentations are always amazing though. Thanks for the videos!

@@jefgibbons Well, I upgraded to Nuendo 13 yesterday. My first impression was not good regarding the UI changes; for some reason, they keep changing the look each release, but it's not necessarily getting better. Anyhow, after 4 hours of getting it all set back how I like it, I feel pretty good.
I ended up hiding the "inspector" and just using the "channel strip" for everything (routing, inserts, sends, fader). Since I have a dozen buttons on my control surface for visibility, I really shouldn't need to show the inspector often. The more I think about it, maybe the channel strip does make good sense.
Excited about checking out the new Cord Pads. But yeah, I noticed those clunky black icons too.
What in god's green earth you *love* about the tap tempo feature? it's the most useless and broken thing I've ever seen in my entire life. And the cherry on top, Steinberg removed the BPM Calculator. 4 min in, close tab.
It's one of my few favourite additions in v13. Maybe you don't get it, but it's a very useful feature for a lot of us.
