BILLY ...the WE STATRED THE HUSTLE...back in 1968-69 in the GAY CLUBS ...before the 1970’s....yours truly (JAMES STANFORD)...(...from James & Margurite)..
The Puerto Rican Bolero Rapido or what they call since the 1980's as Bachata" has the same 4 count that the early done "4 count Hustle". On 4 counts looks like they created new patterns for 1960's new Soul Music and Disco Music to dance that music with a partner as PR Bolero is. PR's like to dance wile touching the woman, not just separated like Americans liked after the 1960's Twist and other dances "Free Style Dancing" wave. NYC PR Hustlers started dancing like that with their women, not gays. That is why is called Hustle Dancing.. Hustle Dancing sounds totally Contrary to "Gay Dancing".. That is what i read..
@@feetgoaroundfullflapsC yes, that is what I have heard from dancers who go way back to that time in New York. They were dancing hustle earlier in the 60's. Same in Detroit. The PR dancers came in from Miami dancing hustle and local dancers picked it up and added their own flair. There was a lot of mambo influence already in Detroit which fused nicely into hustle.
I Remember the first time I saw Billie Dancing it was at the 310 and a half.. he was a showman even back then I must have been thirteen years old in 1972. I remember sneaking into the clubs with Norma and Alicia. Bonano.. I use to love to watch Billie dance and Watch another dancer named Click.. who use to dance with Norma... . Those were the best days of my life.. Billie is a Showman Gbu family ..... Louie D.A.
