yes its pretty tame but you just gotta run it faster, make it as hard as you want, go slow its easy even the blacks, do it at "race pace" its soooo good, and the fact you can get 20 odd runs in a day makes it outstanding value for money, and lets not forget the cafe boss scran on offer, still tame though but you make it what you want it to be
We still have a couple of passes in the bag after they stopped it at lunchtime due to the snow back in December. Not used them in all honesty. Numbers look to be way down as well. They used to always sell out. I loved it there and went fairly regularly. They had an opportunity to develop it further with Revs closing and take some of their custom. Looks like everyone just goes to Dyfi now (we do) and with Revs re-opening for the Summer, I think even less will go. I'm struggling to see the point of the place these days which is a shame as the people that work there are great and the uplift is fantastic. Between Stiniog, Revs and Dyfi, they each offered something fairly unique. Hope they can bring it back to where it was.
I think you'll enjoy if you've never been before mate, even Bendy G has been dumbed right down, used to be big deep ruts and quite a tricky exit but now it's all smooth 😔
No I suppose I was a bit hasty saying that on Strava but, it used to be a full on Gnar location, now it's just a bit meh 🤷 we went after lunch as were bored 😯
We went a few months ago and thought the same thing. I put a comment on their Facebook page,Twice. Asking why they have filled in the qualifier at the start of the black runs. I didn’t get a reply.
There were people asking the drivers after the first uplift why it had been made easier, sure I heard them say to get more flow 🤷😳😳 Gotta say we were disappointed.
I asked today. The answer I got was the BDS (British downhill series) had requested it in order to make it more accessible to riders. Absolutely crazy!
No way, that's mad ! You would think they would want it gnarlier. Loads of people including us left at lunch cause it has become tame and boring because of how easy they have made it.
@@OfftheTopMTB yep, Y DU is now so much easier, used to be all slate and loose with tricky drops into tight corners, now it's just hard packed berms. Scrub used to be a really fun techy red, now it's been smoothed over. It's like they just want quick flow trails, when their niche was rocky tech. Numbers have been poor, one bus and only 4-5 people all day on the 3 occasions myself and friends have been over the last few months.

used to really enjoy it but can't see me going back now. Like you say I think everyone just goes Dyfi instead now.
We’re heading here next month as part of a trip to ride snowdon! Sounds like we might be disappointed!

Yes I noticed last year, looks even worse now. 5 years ago the place was rough with massive wheel smashing rocks. Shame really.
Yea big shame, I hadn't been for about 2 years and it had changed so much, even Bendy G is proper tame now compared to before 😞
