Thanks. Just done my van door. Didn't need to remove rail, just clip out the plastic foot step and remove metal tray for easier access. Gave rail a good clean. New runners then just tilt into place. Note you have to slide the new one into the door support bracket. My runner wheels were knackered being by the sea with salt and sand. The door will support its own weight, just about.
Thanks for the video! I made the same mistake with the locking mechanism, it’s easier to take out the whole rail, when you have removed the 4 torx screws, there is a 10mm bolt underneath of the car. Then you can easily take it out! Thx
Watched this first for ideas be if anyone trying this there is a far far far simple way to do this!!! simply pull up a little the plastic trim in the door footwell area. If you open the door fully if you look at the metal plate under the trim you will see the plate goes in a little towards the rear section! This is where you can remove the old one from and then if you get the new one and at an angle hook the two small top rollers in you need to give it a good jiggle to get it fully in place but it will go in, once in simple reattach to the door section 👍👍
Mark Davies but like I said this video was great simply to understand what’s there and could be involved but after looking I worked out the other way was easier .. only niggly bit is once you hook to two upper rollers .. get a flat piece of metal etc to make the gap up from the van into the roller slot so that as you wiggle it across the main roller jumps up into the track .. once in your laughing 👍👍
If you reed this just do not follow this bloke(my mistake), he done plenty mistakes he admits, but honestly this video should be deleted as is misleading and could do it much quicker..
