  • I feel like people are gonna throw tomatoes at me for continuing to post The Hobbit but i don't care dude, i'm finishing this for the people who are still watching (thank you for that btw) and this trilogy is no where near as bad as people make it out to be. I really liked it, especially the ending. I wasn't expecting any of it, it's so sad and real that it's actually perfect. I'm not going to say much more here but I became very drawn to Thorin's story and want to know more.
I'm feeling inspired to write my thoughts about Thorin's story and these movies in particular (cause i do have a lot to say lol) and i might post it on my Patreon: / amandamiquilena

King Dain ruled Erebor till his son, named after Thorin, succeeded him as the king after him. Dwalin and some others returned to Ered Luin, just another region of the dwarven lands. Gloin and his son Gimli were part of the dwarves that went to Rivendell for the fellowship. Balin took a troop of dwarves and returned to retake Moria, but were killed by the goblins they found there. In the Fellowship of the Ring, the tomb that Gimli is crying over is Balin's tomb. Great reaction, love your videos Amanda!

I have to give Peter Jackson and Richard Armitage credit for how they portrayed Thorin losing his mind. I never considered how difficult it would be to visibly show someone going mad.

Its not shown in this theatrical cut, but Dain Ironfoot (Thorin’s cousin riding the boar) becomes King Under the Mountain. In the War of the Ring, the Dwarves and led by Dain and the Men led by Bard’s grandson battled Sauron’s vast armies in the North. It also helps that Erebor was Gimli’s home for over 60 years after Bilbo’s Quest.
So the Quest was a success, but it came at a high cost.

Galadriel was wearing Nenya, one of the three elven rings of power, and this gave her enough power (combined with her own) to cast Sauron out of Dol Goldur.
This is the film interpretation of events anyway. In the book / lore, it's because of the combined efforts of the white council that Sauron flees.

The two trilogies ("Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit") have two different stories so you can't expect them to have the same level of epicness - but they both share the same excellent quality of filmmaking.

You get to see two of the dwarves really quickly in Fellowship of the Ring. Gloin is at Rivendell with his son Gimli and when the fellowship is in Moira, Gandalf picks up a book of a dwarf skeleton in Balins tomb. That skeleton is meant to be Ori.

This trilogy is not bad as people make it out to be. It is a great piece of movie making. The problem for me is the story. The Hobbit is honestly a separate story from Lord of the Rings and it reads very quick and easy because it is meant for young people. Tolkien in fact had to go back and change things in The Hobbit after he finished writing Lord of the Rings to make them closer. Most of the things you see in the movies are just not in the book. So the movies are its own story made from the book. Most everything in the movies is Peter Jackson's fan fiction of The Hobbit story.

Yeah, at worst they're a bit bloated but I think their greatest sin is being compared to the LotR -trilogy. For new watchers I would say Hobbit -trilogy first would be the right watching order.

@@cp368productions2 Actually no he couldn't use anything from that because he didn't have the rights to anything in that book. Tolkien Estate is very tough on what can and cannot be used. The Silmarilian is a Christopher Tolkien work that no rights have been authorized yet. Most of The Hobbit movies used the book The Hobbit as well as the appendices of The Lord of the Rings for source material.

Your Gandalf looks fantastic! Great job.😁
I'm pretty sure Saruman is still sincere in this film, but it's not long until he starts dealing with Sauron secretly. As I understand it, his turn to evil is slow, and his interest in the magic rings and how they work is part of it.
Bards son would definitely have lost his face; I'm with you on that.😂

10:23 In the books, it was implied that Saruman only sided with Sauron because he was scared of him, and this way he could either survive Sauron's wrath or get close enough to defeat Sauron from the inside and take the One Ring by himself.
12:22 Galadriel's powers are probably just because of how ancient she is. She was born centuries before the Sun and Moon were created, and her hair contains the light of the Two Trees of Valinor (the og light source in all of Middle Earth, and all evil beings are scared of it)

Galadriel is not an ordinary elf. She is an high elf which means she witnessed to see Valinor's light. So if you can focus on her face, her eyes glowing. But she is an exile like other noldor elves because they killed teleri elves and stole their ships to come Middle Earth. So its forbidden to go back to west. If you remember she passed the test when Frodo offered the ring to her on other movie.
On this scene Galadriel uses phial of Earendil against the Sauron as a light source. She gave that phial later to Frodo if you remember.

Great reaction! This trilogy could have been managed a little better for sure, but it's still a very good product and definitely enjoyable to watch even considering the changes from the book. Bilbo and Thorin are portrayed almost perfectly,as well as the scenes with Smaug and Gollum. Also the White Council driving Sauron from Dol Guldur was a nice addition to the story, since in the book it's not narrated

What happens to Erebor and Dale:
Erebor is ruled by Dain Ironfoot, Thorin's cousin, and remains king of the dwarves for the next 60 years.
Bard the Bowman is elected and crowned king of the rebuilt city of Dale, where they live in a coorperative society with the dwarves.
Fast forward 60 years, Dale is now ruled by King Brand, Bard's grandson, and Erebor is still ruled by Dain Ironfoot.
While the lands of Rohan and Gondor are busy with the forces of Saruman and Sauron, a legion of Easterlings(humans from the East loyal to Sauron) and a batallion of Orcs march upon and lay seige on Erebor, where Brand and Dain make their final stand in front of Erebor's gates, and victoriously go down swinging as the Orcs and Easterlings are defeated.
The Battle of Erebor marked the last time humans and dwarves united in battle, like the humans and elves at Helm's Deep.

In the animated version of The Hobbit only 6 dwarves lived, while this actually only has the three that were supposed to die.
Tauriel is 100% made up to pander to the love interest that they feel is needed with movies. Bolg was the actual one in command of the Orc armies that attacked, and Legolas is not confirmed to have actually been in the battle. All the dwarves are in fact related to Thorin, the line of Durin was not extinguished.
Erebor was rulled over by Dain Ironfoot until he was killed in combat against the armies of Sauron in the War in the North. Thranduil returned to Mirkwood and then joined forces with the elves of Lorien again fighting against Sauron. Then they cleaned up Mirkwood and split it into 3 realms, the elves of Lorien taking the south, Thranduil taking the north and the Beornings (descendants of Beorn) getting a strip across the middle.
This actually is the most accurate to the books of any version I have seen, there are a couple other animated ones besides the one I have seen but not sure how accurate they are.
They very much succeeded, their goal was to reclaim Erebor which they did.

He uses a simple computer program to scan all the comments, find the desired words/name and then randomly pick a winner. He has been doing this for years. I have never seen nor heard of any issues that he has encountered. Hope this helps🎄

TheHobbit was a very slim volume, so JacksonEtAl took stuff from the LOTR appendices, and other Tolkien writings, as well as making up A LOT of stuff, starting with an appearance of Legolas, let alone starring role (and Tauriel existing at all!)..And a lot of the CGI is absurd (barrel riding & Legolas running up a disintegrating bridge being most obvious!)...
However, it's still better imo than many many successful fantasy/adventures! And to watch it again with Amanda makes up for any shortcomings.

I think most people who unreasonably hate the Hobbit trilogy are people who were young when they saw LOTR. They were hoping to recapture that feeling and were disappointed that they didn't. What they don't understand is that it's not primarily to do with the quality of the film, but with themselves as they've grown older and changed. I think younger people who see The Hobbit rate it much better than older ones who've been shaped by LOTR.

    • @cp368productions2
      @cp368productions2 6 місяців тому

Um no, the people who hate it do so because they altered it heavily from the book. But the way it was altered was mainly to include parts of what was going on at the same time which was told in the Silmarilian. Changing when a couple dwarves die and bringing Azog back from the dead are also reasons why people hate it.

    • @jonathonfrazier6622
      @jonathonfrazier6622 6 місяців тому

No. We hate it for more legitemate reasons. Like the changes to the story. The Master of Laketown and his pathetic Alfrid are sorely out of place and look and talk like they walked out of an Oliver Twist rendition. The city of Dale looks like a Byzantine city, not something of an iron-age norse-esque civilization. Elf and dwarf romance?! Seriously?! And what is with all the women deciding to join the fight? Where the hell does that come from? Why was it needed? And how could it be anything less than a catastrophically stupid decision?
