It's always sad to see strong friendships end when fame, money, and women get added to the equation. It's a rare man that can keep things in proper perspective when he's on top of the world. At least this story has a happy ending. It'd really be crushing if they were friends since they were 7 years old, going through all the hardships that they did, only to split up forever over materialistic things. Glad to see them back together!

@@ominae1 In an ideal world you'd be right, but I think it's a bit more complex than that. Money, flattery, and women can make a man lose all of his principals, and eventually, his entire identity. It's a strange thing.

So funny…… As a child, I was convinced that Tong Po was Asian. After watching on DVD, the picture quality revealed the make-up, making me do wiki research, only to find out he’s actually Moroccan. Give the man an Oscar 😂 It made perfect sense why Kickboxer had a massive following in Morocco. During my childhood, I used to go there every summer to see the family. My cousins and friends all worshiped Tong Po. He was the star of that movie out there. Similar to The following Bruce Lee had in Hong Kong with the The Kato Show (The Green Hornet)

You are missing the point. Van Damme made a promise and didn't follow up on the promise. The woman just pushed Qissi to get what he was owed. And if you listen to Qissi himself, he is the one who made sure Van Damme had a career in the first place. If VD had been on his own he wouldn't do a quarter of the thing he was asked to do. Qissi pushed him and motivated him.
So if it weren't for this woman Qissi probably would have figured out sooner or later.

Stories like that are moral lessons for all of us who wants to become stars in film business. Generally in such situation all the 3 are to be blame from Vandamme, Michel Quissi and to the wife. Friendship management is not an easy thing when wealth and glory are in between people. We thank God that with age and maturity they two made peace. I recently saw video of Vandamme promoting Michel Quissi 's son doing a Kata in Karate shotokan. His son is good. It will be interesting to see the children of Vandamme, Quissi and Bolo do something together.

Because me and my friend Sylvain wear speaking french from Québec, we became friend a little, we wear young (18 years), so we could not go out in bars with them. i bought Mohamed motorcycle, it was a Honda CM400T blue. too bad back then we did not have mobile phones or social media, i lost touch with them when i left for a other trip. i always been proud of knowing Jean-Claude before any other fan.

Hello Viking and sheldon thank you for this interview. The story is much deeper than a car story ....
This is not the first time I comment in your videos viking and you know I am a fan of jcvd too.
But when they came to the usa they had made a brother pact! It didn't matter who was going to make it as a star, they were going to go 50/50 on the money and unfortunately jcvd didn't keep his promise.
I have often talked to mohamed qissi years ago on facebook in 2011 and also to a sports journalist aziz belcaide who wrote a 4 page article on these stories! who was mohamed's confidant in the years 82 to 86.
Since their debut in the USA in 82 Michel has always helped his childhood friend because he believed in his potential as an actor.
    Unfortunately jcvd made many mistakes...
I will quote some of them.
He had wasted all the money Michel had saved....
They got kicked out of the house in Los Angeles of "Mr. Cohen a Belgian friend of theirs who helped them to get the passport to go to the USA" because jcvd stole the silverware and wanted to have sex with the housekeepers.
When mohamed told jcvd to give him the money for bloodsport lion heart etc etc and to make 50/50 on their pact! Jcvd replied.... That's not you on the poster that's not your name... Go to hell...
Jcvd forgot that it is thanks to Michel who got the role of bloodsport! For he convinced to go to the office of menahem Golan the next day after their meeting at the piano bar la Cienega.
Jcvd was scared the day of this meeting and went to give up except that mohamed reminded Golan that jcvd was going to play the role of the predator against Arnold!
When menahem heard that he made him a proposition of 3 movies at 25000 dollars per movie because mohamed knew that menahem had signed Dolph Lundgren for 3 movies including master of universe after his role in rocky 4!
I still have many anectodes to tell....
In 2011 I talked a lot to mohamed and I had to meet him in Paris! He had even sent a facebook message to the teacher of jcvd claude Goetz telling him that it was 20 years that he was angry with his student of karate jcvd and that now he wanted to contact him so that jcvd gives him back what he owes him! I participated in this conversation on facebook.
They met again in 2013! After 20 years of trouble...
One day the brother mohamed qissi! Abdel qissi who plays the role of atilla in lion heart and the role of mogolian in the quest said.
Jean claude don't forget where you come from because in life everything is circumstance because if I hadn't introduced you to my brother Michel and I hadn't introduced you to my boxing manager Paul van damme.... You wouldn't have gone to Hong Kong to do this photo shoot and maybe you wouldn't have had this idea of making movies etc etc etc.
A story that now in 2022 ends well.
Too bad jcvd didn't listen to mohamed to make the continuation of bloodsport or kickboxer etc etc
unfortunately jcvd had the big head with the glory and the money and he betrayed a lot of friends because of the money and the drugs.....
Thanks for your videos viking and hello from France! If you want more information don't hesitate to contact me.

@@VikingSamurai I will contact you on facebook. Sorry if I make some writing mistakes but I also use the translator for some sentences. 😊
There is also another anectode that hurt a lot mohamed....
Jcvd always said that he succeeded alone and that he came alone to the USA! Maybe it was to embellish his legend.
But one day a Belgian journalist from the magazine "ciné télé revue" asked jcvd in the 88's... I don't have the exact date anymore.
How did you manage to succeed in Hollywood ?
Who is your friend mohamed qissi sitting next to you and what is his role in this story... Is he your manager?
Jcvd answered :no ! he is just a friend who came to visit me in Los Ángeles....
Do you know that mohamed didn't want jcvd to shoot in cyborg ?
He wanted to make a sequel to bloodsport... But jcvd didn't want.
Jcvd wanted to make movies like Arnold with less karate...
But fortunately he got kickboxer and lion heart and then their ways separated in 1989.
It is even. Mohamed who had the idea to make the poster of the movie lion heart jcvd doing the split on the train tracks 🎥🎥

Si tu as d' autres anecdotes,je suis preneur! Je trouve ça super humain et cool de la part de Mohamed Qissi de n' avoir jamais parlé publiquement ou en interview de son ami d'enfance suite à sa "trahison".

JCVD was dynamite and only few villains were able to use their sadistic character-acting to sell a final fight for JCVD in a film. Everyone in the day knew JCVD was “Frank Dux” and unbeatable.
