Samson Li from what I heard was a homage to Bruce Lee (only just) because of Bolo being in Enter: The Dragon, that's why he has the JKD style and the flexes......but as many would realise, nobody could pay homage to Bruce.......Nobody is that damn good.
From the first time when I watched Bloodsport and saw the scene where Bolo Young's Chong Li character breaks the first opponent he faced neck, I would tease my mind into thinking that opponent reminded him of Bruce Lee, whom he must have harboured hatred for since that Enter The Dragon movie, so killing that opponent quickly was an act of vengeance. I know it's weird, but honestly that always came to my mind. 😋
one of the things that most American filmgoers do not understand about the Chinese language is that there are 7 main dialects of the language with most of them being regional. This leads to different names being used by actors as the tradition in Some Asian countries is you have your name is something they already have a word for in the language. Take the name Zhang Wei which is literally meaning great. In another dialect, it would be Wang Wei also meaning great. This also gets further complicated as some martial artists have an English name to further appeal to western audiences.
The off white gi guy is actually wearing a un- bleached gi. It is the raw canvas before being bleached white, commonly seen in the 70s and 80s mainly with judo style gis. Some kyokushin brands still manufacture them

Another great video about this JCVD classic. I always read many historys about the "Bloodsport" figther, such many does guys was professional dancers and stuntmans."Poor Man Dalton" Fuckink awesome!!!
I literally can NOT believe how much effort you've put into the research and editing of this video :O if you can tell, how long does it take for you to do 1 such episode, from research, filming, editing, etc., the whole A-Z package?! I'm just trying to get some reference cause on my channel I spend hours and days making like the simplest things possible and I literally have no idea how you manage do put in this amount of work, you're on another level :D
The editing can easily take an hour for 1 minute of video, so a 10 min vid could be 10 hours of work for the editing alone. Some sequences and videos are easier though, so on a simpler video maybe 15 mins spent per 1 min of video... The filming is usually the quickest since my videos usually just have a short intro, I can usually do it in a few takes. Research varies quite a bit, this one took longer than most, but several hours on the avg video (but way more on this one! Lol), , then writing and editing the writing can take hours as well.
@@VikingSamurai thanks so much for sharing!!! so like I guessed almost, cause same goes for me. Then also rendering the final video kinda takes the same, 1h per 10min of video, so... yep, I get the pain :D

I don't know if anyone's already commented this, but; often it's not a matter of the asian actors having multiple 'aliases', but they have multiple presentations/pronunciations of their name depending on the different chinese dialects, such as mandarin, cantonese, pinyin, jyutping, not to mention the westernized (ie: english) version of their name ...take for example the venerable "Gordon Liu" (this is the westernized version of his name), his name can be presented in several other different ways depending on the native speaker, the most popular being: Liu Chia Liang (mandarin), Lau Kar Fai (cantonese), or Lau Gaa Fai (jyutping) ...they're not aliases, they're all his name but presented/pronounced differently according to the various chinese dialects, and that's why all versions of their names are often listed on movie databases and wikipedia ...admittedly it does make it hard for us westerners to keep track, though, especially if you're not aware of this ...for future reference; a good website to check out is 'hong kong cinemagic', you can do a name search and the actor's page will pop up and you will see all the versions of his name.

Dear Viking Samurai, after some investigation I found out that the karateka fighter who gets ko by Jackson in the second fight is called Cotard (no first name), fighter from France, and is played by Rick Erikson (billed at the end of the movie). The kung fu guy thrown out of the tatami by Jackson is reported correctly, the actor's name, but in the movie you can catch a quick glimpse on the board and is spelled Tse Hin Kung.
