@@soulfulvoices2341 They got it from the Rolling Stones website. It was always confusing to me because Martha said she never got the opportunity to meet Aretha. Although I never understood why Jeanie never introduced her
@@JLPerryTV Jeanie never met Aretha. Aretha didn't like to fly so her vocals were recorded at a remote location and the others, Jeanie Sylvester and Martha recorded their vocals in the studio with Narada M. Walden. According to a recent interview with Jeanie Tracy.
This was such an informative piece. Thank you for the time spent producing it. His talent has touched so may ears with great voices to put it together and make memorable music. I commend his genius mind to make it so.
Love this video!! Do you know if it's Martha or Jeanie doing the high operatic ad-libs on Living Proof (for example the Bb5s in Dance Disco Heat)? Gospel legend Daryl Coley also sang background for Sylvester. Sylvester really did surround himself with the best.
I think it’s Martha because she did the same on Step II, and because she was on fire that night so that you can hear a lot of her high notes on several songs. But of course it could also be Jeanie because she can sing in that range too.
It was Martha’s voice. Jeanie didn’t have a lead role. It was her first show with Sylvester (and the Two Tons), so she only sang background with Charlene (I think that was her name).
Well Sylvester sang with some great singers. He didn't sing with or collaborate with thee singer Donna Summer. She is actually thee Soul/Pop Singer. She is thee only singer with the most versatility and can change it up quickly. Way before Whitney Houston put her stamp on it in modern times. I love Martha Wash wholeheartedly. She can sang her behind off. Of course I love Patti LaBelle wholeheartedly. She can sang her behind off. I have most of Sylvester's recordings and I always thinked he was phenominal on putting his stamp out there. Rest In Power Sylvester and Donna Summer🙏
He also sang back up on Aretha's Freeway of Love with Martha Wash.
Hi did. But with Jeanie Tracy, not Martha. Wikipedia is wrong about that ;)

FAB-U-LOUS!!
I sang back up for Jeanie. Little did they know, I would've done it for free! :D
His version of Allen Touissants Happiness is my favorite
Wow Daryl Coley sang backup too?!?!?!?!?!
Can someone tell me the name of the song at 1:15?
Why haven’t they made a movie of his life.
Very informative and entertaining video! What is the name of the song you played that featured Lynette Hawkins-Stephens?
ShyeNYC Thank you very much. The song is « i dont wanna think about it » by Sylvester.
