This is just a theory I have but I think the reason why Rotten Tomatoes is hiding the critics score is because the audience scores tend to be a bit higher than the critics' score (although, that's not always the case) and they probably thought that most people wouldn't watch these movies if they see a negative score from the critics. So, they show the audience score instead if the audience score is high. But even sometimes, the audience score is just as low as the critics' score.
Only time I go onto Rotten Tomatoes is when I want to look at bad movie reviews on fun bad movies, lol. There's definitely enough space. Studios going off of Rotten Tomatoes scores is stupid. Tyler Perry's pretty darn financially successful given the budgets that he works with. Yet his Rotten Tomatoes scores are all over the place and lean a tad bit more toward Rotten. I avoid IMDb almost completely just cause I've found that the audience score there is so easily manipulated. Most people aren’t complaining to complain, there’s clearly a messed up bias in the critic reviews.
I don’t rely on rotten tomatoes very often. Yeah I check to see how many love or hate the movie. But to me, if I’m interested in seeing a movie then I’m going to see it. I won’t let poor scores ruin my enjoyment of a film.
I rarely align with top critics on most films (specifically Oscar bait type of films). I watch you, Chris, because we mostly agree & have similar taste in films. Ultimately, you as an audience member have to just trust your gut when you see the trailer. The natural reaction you got when you first watched the trailer usually is how you end up feeling about the film. Trust your own instincts, guys.
Crazy enough I'll been doing rotten Tomatoes Scores on my Tik Tok for 3 years and everybody have their opinion with the scores some people like it and some people hates even when I do Audience Scores it's the same thing of people like it and hate it

1. rotten tomatoes is a joke and not at all indicative of a movie's actual value 2. critic scores have for ages been pretty much the opposite of what the general public feel about movies because so many of them are schills who suck up to the studios so that they can keep their access to early screenings they've been praising movies that push the studio message and bagging out movies that don't tow the line for years and they're only recently starting to come around because they've been called out on what they are doing and the fact that they are a joke if you want an accurate idea of a movie you're better off watching a wider range of youtube reviewers and getting to know who has similar tastes to what you like in a movie and trusting that as a guide to what you might like, not a percentage score on rotten tomatoes
The Rotten Tomatoes percentage isn’t a score for the movie, it’s just the percentage of Critics who gave a movie a 6/10 or higher. If you want to talk about people who are biased and suck up to movie studios, those are audiences. Yes, look at reviewers who have the same tastes as you, or stop listening to other people and make up your own mind.

Exactly, and it’s only really a very loud percentage of the fanbase that keeps glazing the shit out of this movie. FNaF is just awful. Critics scores are there for a reason, yeah they can be biased sometimes, but audiences will always be more biased than critics. I tend to trust the audience more than the critic, so this doesn't seem so bad to me
I remember John Campea shitting on people because the idea of Rotten Tomatoes messing with or having bias reviews on the critic reviews, would ruin the point of the site and mess with many other area of the film industry… well here we go with another example of what we’ve been complaining about for the past 8-10 years. Most people aren’t complaining to complain, there’s clearly a messed up bias in the critic reviews.
A bias with critics?? Lol
Hi chris great video 👍😃
It’s all good. I do check RT reviews but I don’t trust critics as much as audience.
Ngl i feel like audience score is way better then critics reviews.
oh damn i was wondering why this was!
This has been a thing for months
Crazy enough I'll been doing rotten Tomatoes Scores on my Tik Tok for 3 years and everybody have their opinion with the scores some people like it and some people hates even when I do Audience Scores it's the same thing of people like it and hate it
But... why?
The audience score is the only one needed
They do pay money for good reviews with some the truth is all coming out now
well I mean does anyone really care about what the critics think? I mean most people, the majority of people will watch something that interests them and if they can see that normal average people liked the movie then okay 👍 the only bad thing I see is that if the audience score might be too biased? But then again people already thought the critics score was baised so ??? 🤷🏼♂️
Critics hate video game movies now
Look what they gave to The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Five Nights At Freddy's
Yah that’s sus and sketchy
Critics are biased. They are afraid to be honest. The audience reviews are always more accurate. Just understand that the audience reviews are usually from people that were interested in the movie/genre to begin with.
That’s really stupid, why would they afraid to be honest with their own opinion on a movie?? You don’t even show any evidence to why you believe that.
@@Sean-132 Because they get paid, sponsored, and receive perks. Chris said it himself in this video. No one cares about a UA-camr. Critics stop getting perks if they piss off the wrong people.
@@davidgutierrez9576 Okay, but just to let you know that Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t pay critics, you don’t get any money from them if you’re a certified critic.
90% of Critics never intended to piss off people and Chris did point out that audience scores can get manipulated 5:17
@@Sean-132 I didn’t say critics intend to piss people off. There was a scandal last year about a PR form paying critics for positive reviews on RT. They also had the critics hide negative reviews. So it’s been documented. Look up Bunker 15 and RT. I agree that some movies are boosted/bombed by groups of people too. But it’s more corrupt when it comes to critics. It’s a business for them.
2:19 It makes sense that it would show the audience score. A lot of these critics are getting paid to say nice things about certain movies. Where is the audience? Isn't there just watching it to watch it because they like it or they don't in my opinion. It's a lot better to have the audience score rather than the critic score because the audience is more the average for everybody. Where is the critic is going to take other things into account that the general movie public isn't going to really take into account
people did not know about the reviews rotten tomatoes and audience score how they reviews loves or hates i mean like how rotten hated especially like the emoji movie yeah that score was really bad tho horrible animation movie look so freaking crinch tho
I don't like the new Rotten Tomatoes layout at all.. you just have to know how to decipher the scores. It could have a 90% but all those 90% could have all given it 7/10. When Rotten Tomatoes looks real ridiculous is when they put up on top 20 or top 100 list be some Rotten Tomatoes scores. That really shows how flawed the system is lol.
I personally don't see A24 to be more artsy. Maybe pretentious? Some people think pretentious =/= artsy. I thought Whale was good. Uncut Gems is their best movie. Everything Everywhere though was just somebody with ADHD having a existential meltdown.
I trust the audience more than that critics I honestly like this change on rotten tomatoes true is RT critics are aholes so haha.
1. rotten tomatoes is a joke and not at all indicative of a movie's actual value
2. critic scores have for ages been pretty much the opposite of what the general public feel about movies because so many of them are schills who suck up to the studios so that they can keep their access to early screenings
they've been praising movies that push the studio message and bagging out movies that don't tow the line for years and they're only recently starting to come around because they've been called out on what they are doing and the fact that they are a joke
if you want an accurate idea of a movie you're better off watching a wider range of youtube reviewers and getting to know who has similar tastes to what you like in a movie and trusting that as a guide to what you might like, not a percentage score on rotten tomatoes
This is the most controversial thing going on in the US right now
I don't like tomatoes specially if they come rotten
I don't care rotten tomatoes it like mafa i know bribe on rotten tomatoes love 3c film
This is a good development lol. Fuck the critics. ('cept Chris. Chis cool.)
awesome sausce
i don't know anyone in the general public looks up scores for movies and i know even more people that don't trust most critics this is only a problem for people online
I like the change.
Ahh yes trust a paid shills reviews or if the movie isn’t gay enough for some critics.. audience score should be most important since you know we’re the audience 💀
Bro scared of gay people lol
What? Audience are just as or can be more biased than critics, dude.
@@3CFilmsClipswhere did you come up with that 🤡 I said for some critics if a movie isn’t gay enough its automatically rotten. How am I scared of gay people.. ps I still hope Deadpool flops 💪🏻😂💀
Hii(say hi back)❤
I don’t trust audience scores. People are trash and have trash tastes. I have taste in music, I wouldn’t want my opinion moving someone’s purchase. Critics are good to a point unless a movie is political and against a certain agenda, they are pretty on point and base it more on actual movie elements, like plot pacing etc. If you get low with the audience, your movie is probably complete shit, like Zack Snyders rebel moon lol.
Yes. Audience are biased as hell and people seem to hate when critics criticize a movie whether it’s actually good or not.
Also, most people don’t seem to understand how Rotten Tomatoes actually works.
First 🎉
Congrats 👏
2:57 FNAF score of 32 percent is spot on. The movie is garbage. Y'all have to stop glazing the movie. Objectively the movie is terrible
Sometimes I trust them and sometimes I don't. It depends. Like for the Mario movie I didn't trust them because I knew they weren't Mario fans
Maybe people just like the movie because it was a love letter to fans
Womp womp
@@rushawnsgachaworld8442 yeah people are blinded by fan service for FNAF movie.
Exactly, and it’s only really a very loud percentage of the fanbase that keeps glazing the shit out of this movie. FNaF is just awful.
Critics scores are there for a reason, yeah they can be biased sometimes, but audiences will always be more biased than critics. I enjoyed the Mario movie too, but I can’t deny that it doesn’t stand on its own and has an incredibly generic and thin plot.
Also, it seems like many people don’t actually understand how Rotten Tomatoes works, it’s not giving a score to the movie, it’s just the percentage of critics that gave a movie an average score or better.
@@AlexMartinez-nj9io I know. Mario never had a plot in the game so technically they followed the source material. FNAF movie was supposed to be about the animatronics not the humans. It's boring and slow paced. The human characters aren't interesting for us to care for them
Rotten Tomatoes Controversy needs to be studied! Godzilla x Kong is a great movie by the way.
Watching the trailers, It looks like a lame live action cartoon with terrible effects
@@LMacca97 Your opinion is terrible. Audience loved GxK and GxK to gross $500M = Best movie of 2024
