I sure am, the SIP is a great addition to the shop. I can tell you that I am the only shop out there using such a precise and massive machine to bore Jeep engines. A bit overkill but I love the precision.
AMC straight 6 engines are some of my favorites, I have a bunch of 232s, but also a 258, so if you can show any of the rebuild process I'd be glad, all the stuff you do is top notch as always!
You are one of the only people that seem to like the 232 and 258 engine. The view count doesn't lie, only 300 views the first day so you can see why I don't really want to spend camera time on my least popular videos.
Of course the bores are square. Block is held by the crankshaft centerline and set up perfectly square to cutter. I am using the most precise Jig Bore ever made and it can hold tolerances of .000001" If you follow along on my channel you will see this block being decked on the blockmaster and held by the crank centerline, then everything moved to the boring machine and again held by the crank centerline.
@@metalshaperJeep No offense intended. My first job was in an automotive and diesel engine machine shop. I learned the ins and outs of setting engines up for machining there. As for the sip, we had a similar sip in a tool and die shop I worked in and retired from. You're right, those machines can be dead nutz. Regards, Duck
yes, you are a minority, the 258 stuff just doesn't get too many views for some reason. I really enjoy the 232 and 258, so I do show stuff from time to time. Maybe more in the future if some others enjoy this content as well.
I can tell you are loving that sip machine! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Good to find you again
I am always around making videos.
Love it! Looking good Brian. Thank for the update. Stay cool.
Your block is coming out great and should be going together soon.
I’d love to feel the power difference on the 258’s that you engineer to have some extra balls
a+
Are your cylinder bores square to the crank centerline?
I can't see your setup, so I don't know what you're locating on.

I must be in the minority here hoping to see as much 258 builds as possible. 🫤
But thanks for what I do see. 👍
