I remember learning that Posca were never really meant for paper, if I want to use them on paper I find I have to put Gesso down but then it defeatd the purpose because they're supposed to be a 'quick and easy". I recently got the Arrtx as well and am pretty happy with them. I love your sketchbook and good luck with your channel❤
oooh I see I do think they say paper on the pen but the nib is just very rough so it just usually breaks that first layer of the paper which doesnt look that good. I have also been loving the Arrtx brush pens and thank you so much I really appreciate it

I should clarify the video I watched said they weren't originally meant for paper, I got the impression they were maybe marketed more as a graffiti/mural art tool, they were made to be portable and could be used on all kinds of surfaces, which could account for the roughness of the nip, it would need to be able to hold up to rougher use on many surfaces. Anyway after a while artists started wanting to use them on paper and I think a lot of people don't mind the pilling, it's not a huge deal for me but does bug me a bit. Anyway not 100% on that so take it with a grain of salt. The Arrtx seem more tailored for paper the brush nips are more "gentle" but I don't know if they'd necessarily hold up to "rougher" use?

Just use a mixed media or acrylic paper sketchbook! I use Posca a ton and never Gesso even tho I own some.
