hi from Holland, I have a Swiss white sheppie myself and thought I'd pas on this little bit of knowledge about the panting, panting can come from being overheated, but when he always pants like Occy does (or my King) it can also be from excitement, joy and just simply being content in an excited way, so it's basically them saying "yeey! I am so happy to be were I am right now!"

Currently living in our Sprinter with our super loving 6 month old Mastiff Mix puppy and he absolutely loves the van. He loves that when we open the doors and we are somewhere different that he didn’t expect. Love your videos and authenticity of showing the good and the bad of van life!

OCCY is an amazing fur baby, we have a lab-chow-collie mix solid black, double coated, and 12 years old, very well behaved and loves being with us at all times. We are the same as you and Lee, if we can't take our diamond with us we generally don't do it. OCCY is a beautiful dog and is really living the good life.

Great job with OCCY mate, we love watching him swim, hike, playing with other dogs. Two Questions: How is his prey drive, what does he do around wild animals when he is off leash? How do you deal with his poop? do you pick it up? sometimes? does he just goes in the woods and you let nature take care of it?

This was super helpful to hear, as I decide on my downsize to a van I have been getting a lot of kickback from people about my 3 year old Aussie Peyton. I am lucky that she is extremely chill for her age and only about 40 lbs as a small female. I am in the Rockies so for most of the year the temperature is not overly hot but it is still warm and also a concern. The next concern people have is her ability to move around. We are currently living in a small space, or large camper depending how you view it. I attempt to have the door is open most of the time that I am around so she can roam to the river or sniff around and be a blissful puppy. Seeing your video was most definitely beneficial as a reinforcement that I am not being totally out of line knowing that the conditions will be similar and she will thoroughly enjoy doing all of the things we do now and adapting just as Occy did. Thanks!
I think anyone giving you flack clearly doesn't realise that you move in to a van to be outside more! It is very rare other than at night or whilst driving that Occy is restricted the the van (which he absolutely loves and see as our giant Kennel). I am sure it will be the same with you and Peyton! You won't regret it, especially with having the rockies as your playground!
Occy is so adorable! But I must ask, in the future would you consider adopting from a shelter rather than going to s breeder? The reason I ask, is that so many dogs are put down due to over population in the shelters. They have puppies too.

Occy, is such a big fluffy puppy. He appears to be so soft and snuggly. OMG I'm such an animal lover, especially with dogs. You know I always feel that animals are literally a part of you an extension of your family they are the family. So of course you treated him and take him everywhere it's essential. I used to actually do that with my own dogs take them to restaurants just almost anywhere. But you know I live in New York City it's very dog-friendly City to begin with. But thanks for sharing this was awesome and I can't wait to see occy again in the next video on his adventurous trips.

Max & Lee Hey! I was actually going to comment on the same thing. I did a load of research before buying one for our Great Pyrenees mix and we decided to go with an Arf Pets cooling mat. It’s been a lifesaver for our big gal in our van! It stays cool for three hours and “reactivates” in about 15 minutes. It also is super thin, and has these small creases in it so it can easily fold up into a square shape if you want to put it away. I bought mine off chewy.com, and I think they have 15% off discount codes for your first order. Maybe Lee could order it and bring it back to you guys when you reunite! :) Anyways, my husband and I love your little fam.
