Here’s a tip - use a cordless drill to wind the yarn. It’s very fast. I use small skewers. I soak mine in water, squeeze out the excess water and bake at 275 F for an hour. The rougher the yarn, the tighter the curls will be.
Another thing - here is the US we mostly use acrylic yarn for toys since it is cheap and we don’t have access to the nice wools that you have in the UK. (And I can’t afford the shipping when ordering from the UK anymore.). Maybe I’m assuming but I just guessed you were probably using wool. Acrylic yarn makes tighter curly hair.
Its a shame you don't have access to the same ranges of yarn, you would think that a large country like the US would have more choice. Postage is expensive to the US, yesterday I priced the postage of 2 dolls to the US ... Postage of 2 dolls in the UK £4, the same 2 dolls to the US £20 ... but then it has a long way to travel :) Thank you, I love how I can "chat" to someone half way round the world! Stay Safe x
@@ecdesignsknittedtoys Well I think our last “president” had a lot to do with how expensive shipping is from outside the US. Tariffs or something. It hasn’t always been that way.
I live in Northern Ireland and at the minute we are having a lot of difficulty getting some products, due to brexit ... I wonder sometimes do governments really know what they are doing, the world is a crazy place at the minute
