- Do you have an HID kit installed on your vehicle and one of the lights stopped working? This is a process you can use to determine which component needs to be replaced.
Great and informative video. I have a question: is it possible to match a 55w ballast with a 35w bulb? Are bulbs generic in terms of watts? Thanks.

When I start my truck I have power to both sides then after about 30 seconds my driver side will shutoff. Any ideas what this could be?
you need antiflicker or capacitor
you still have same problem
hi what causes the control unit to break?
I have a new kit fitted bulbs both are not working. The thing is when I switch to high beam I can hear the clicking but nothing lights up
I have one headlamp out on right side, left side works, I swapped bulbs like you suggested, right light still doesn't come on, so mu bulbs are okay, but my truck is 04, I will check my fuse 1st, then it should work. I ordered a ballast and cables that was suppose to work on my 04 cadillac ext, but the working side ballast is like a 1" thick and the one I received was 1/2 " thick and the cables that came with it one was a good length BUT the one that wrapped around to the ballast was 4" to short...... So I returned it.... Please HELP :-) Thank you for your expertise.
Hi, I have installed HID on my Lexus CT200h. When I start the engine, (with the option "automatic headlights") the left side turns on, but the right side doesn't. I need to turn off and to turn on the headlights manually and in this case the 2 sides start successfully. Any idea? My ballasts are without Canbus. Thanks a lot..
what if they both come on but after about a minute or so one of the lights goes out.
need anti flicker or capacitor
@@creativelife4453 mine has capacitors and the passenger side will work fine for a week or so at a time then out of the blue it goes out and have to turn off then on again to relight but won't stay on more than 3 min then goes out again and keeps up this problem until you cut them off for about a minute or maybe 30 seconds then works again for a week or so and so on help! Please

I have a h4 harness with h1 bulbs to my retrofit headlights. I be done everything my self. The lights some times don't come on first try. Drivers light usually turn on but not passenger side. After I close and open again the switch both of them work good. Another problem is when my lights working for some minutes and I close them, the don't light up again. They need 3 minutes or so and then they work again like a charm. It looks like they need to cool down, I say. Any ideas guys? A hid canceler adaptor may help?
My headlight stopped working after I got my windshield tinted water must've seeped through behind the dash.. does that mean its the harness that needs replaced something else?
I have a 96 Tacoma with a common power instead of a common ground. What do I do?
you need to use relay harness
What if the high beam works but the low beam does not work?
Jacob Breshears got that problem, no low beam arghhh... french crap.hit a flood and both lights went out
in both sides
My driver side bulb went out. I swapped with new one and it worked for about 2 -3 days then it stopped working again. Could the ballast be faulty but still halfway works and cause the bulb to blow?
high beam
Max, you recommend replacing xenon hid bulbs in pairs. If one bulb fails under warranty, then you would send 2 bulbs?
mipalo
If the bulbs have been used for a while, say 6 months or more, its best to replace both bulbs to ensure color matching. For warranties we will cover a single failed bulb at no cost. The customer has the option to pay for a single additional bulb and we will send a complete pair.
ive got a 55w ballast powering xenon bulbs the right side flickers on start up and eventually stabilizes. it finally went out the other day so i purchased a new set of bulbs, i plugged a bulb in and it still flickers so i was thinking of adding capacitors to both ballasts on the input side. do you think this may fix my issue? any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Do you have a website to buy this Alpha harness???
I just bought a pair of LED with no ballast but only one will work at a time do you need a ballast for them to work ?
My problem is my passenger side doesn't work but sometimes it does and my HIDs don't turn off when I want them too
Have a question, just replaced ballast and light works. But if turn ignition off and back on the light comes on then goes off. Pull the fuse for that headlight, it is good. Put fuse back in and light comes on. Then turn ignition back off and does something again. Any ideas?
needs a relay. had this same issue. relay will make sure power is coming from battery and not from vehicle (which may be too smart for HID kit)
I have a 2015 chrysler 200 and my hid kit didn't come with a relay. When I connect the lights they will work then shortly after the lights die and I get a low beam out message. When I toggle the lights off and on they work then die again....
What was it did you figure it out
@@davidhuffman6853 I just brought some ballast but these things are annoying
so i installed mine but they dont turn on what do i do someone plz help
you need to check one side first
I only get about 3/4 months out my passenger side 2016 RAM
Got an HID kit with no relay. Worked fine for 2 weeks with a buzzing. Now I got nothing
you need test one side first , and check fuse
what if I did that and bulb and bales are good but still the driver side does not work?
anti flicker or capacitor you need to install
check your ground
So you can't tell if the bulb is burnt by looking at it
hard to know
There isn't a filament in the bulb. It's an arc that is produced, so you can't tell just by looking at it.
Great video. Thank you
i noticed that the when you made the swap the bad bulb flickered for a split second, why is that? is it normal for this to happen? i have that same issue and i was just about to replace the igniter or the ballast.
Richard Mohammed Yes indeed, it is normal in any HID kit to flicker a bit when starting up.
First things first. Check your ground! Typically, on a retrofit, each side has a ground. Make sure the ground is secure. Thank me later. Pin it!
Changed hid bulb,no dice. Changed ballast,no dice, Changed ignitor,no dice. Switched headlight fuses,no dice. I'm our $400.00 so far 1 headlight still out, help!
I replaced the bulb and ballast.. still nothin
check your ground
