Maybe you should ask if we really need AI this badly? Could we maybe do something else with this energy?

I'm not against the idea of water cooling these AI systems.. But I am against the idea of allowing that water to evaporate in open ponds. Water cooling systems should be closed loops, and run through closed radiative cooling systems, to ensure it's not being "used up".
On the other hand, even if some fresh water evaporates and ends up in the ocean, it'll eventually evaporate back up and fall on land, so at the end of the day, worrying about this might be a little silly.

Our country is warming. Water off Florida in the 90s? Massive heat waves and record high temperatures every year in recent years. Alaska is warming 2x faster than any other state in the union. That is the point, it is why it is called "Climate Change", as it is changing everywhere, from your freezing to our heat issues, to earlier hurricanes and more higher category hurricanes, to the widening of tornado alley, and places like Eastern Germany getting tornadoes they never got in the past.

@@tiboregoldberger6817 Not only is the whole planet warmer than before on average, humans are currently warming the planet ~20 times faster than it usually warms when coming out of an ice age and that is lethally-fast warming that is already harming people, societies, other species, and ecosystems in hundreds of ways.
And no, the Earth was not warmer 4,000 years ago; the last time the planet was this warm was ~125,000 years ago.
As for record snowfalls, extreme precipitation is one of the side effects of global warming but overall, the Earth is getting less snow than before, and the ski season is now 4-5 weeks shorter than in 1980.
Take care, but please read a little more science. The climate crisis is real, lethal, urgent, and WE caused it.
