9/11 made such an impression on me because I agree with you, I’d grown up with the twin towers as being THE symbol of New York. The first time I can clearly remember approaching New York was on the Amtrak train from Boston arriving in the evening, the sun was going down and the Twins were silhouetted against the setting sun. Made me realise we were almost there. So sad that they’re gone forever and that that time has gone.

@Regan MacBannon Mason Trump bragged about having the tallest building in lower Manhattan on the same day the towers fell. You're worshipping a narcissistic, evil man. @Regan MacBannon Mason Donald is a pathological liar, so I don't trust any of his stories. I've never read anything about him offering to pay for reconstruction. He didn't even own that land, so that would be a ridiculous offer in the first place. I'm sure he lied about that as well. The land was owned by Larry Silverstein, who wanted to rebuild right away and had the money to do so himself, although there was a long battle over the insurance claim for the two buildings. Silverstein wanted a double payout, one for each tower. The insurance company fought for one payout. I believe Silverstein ended up winning that battle. The other reason for delay in rebuilding on that site was the understandable backlash from the victims' families. They consider it sacred ground, as that is where their loved ones died tragically. Compromises were eventually made and now we have One World Trade and the 9/11 Memorial on the site today.
So sad. 25 years is a tiny amount of time in a nation's lifespan. Look at the shocking difference between the people there in 1993 and what you see today. It is tragic to see how quickly, and how decisively, things have declined.

@@sdsocal2374 The One World Trade Center fits The New York City Skyline in its own way just like The Twin Towers did
@@Wrestling316 meh....if you say so!
@@melanieanderson8357 I stick by what I said lol, I like The One World Trade Center and nothing’s gonna change my mind

55% of people came here cuz the Twin towers
25% of people came here to talk how about how amazing the 90s were compare to today
20% of people came here to talk shit about cellphones

Baloney. The 90s sucked like any era until cell phones and Amazon rose to prominence. This is the only way to live
Pretty much the 90s was awesome brw
I'm one of the 25% ♥️
Sublime. Great footage.
Really like the opening of the wing of the plane view from the window turning into a paper plane. Nice graphics.
The south tower entrance was so beautiful.
26 years later and those same D and 6 trains are still in use
Im born on 1993 and i think new york better than today
This is awesome! I was wondering if you muted some of the background sounds - it sounds different in some parts. This is just a great walk down memory lane! At 8:03 or so, the shots of the Towers is just heartbreaking and beautiful. A truly loving tribute to the beauty of NY! Thanks for this!
I feel like these videos are so chill. I find it really easy to relax to these, when I watch these.
Back then I had no lung failure. Please take me back then.
I LOVE WORLD TRADE CENTER!!!
One World trade venter is better.
Except that it's only one building
Yes, the twin towers was THE symbol of New York. Now it´s like Paris without The Eiffel Tower. Like pizza without cheese.
@@mrhighway One WTC is pretty, but better than the Twin Towers... i really don't think so.
@@mrhighway never!
I miss them good days I just entered high school that year & I’m from New York & that’s how I remember it school trips & all and it was gang crazy like it is now.
AS A KID, I VIVIDLY REMEMBER THE SOUTH TOWER COLLAPSE. RIP TO THE VICTIMS
Growing up in Brooklyn seeing the Twin Towers was always amazing. Its like anywhere in the 5 Boroughs you can see it. I visited the WTC and went to a game at the (original) Yankee Stadium in May 96' thru a student exchange program from my JHS. Sad to see both gone now but never forgotten! I love NY!
I call BS. Post proof
@@joeambrose3260 It’s not BS. You can see The World Trade Center from Damn near anywhere in NYC (This applies to both The Twin Towers and The One World Trade Center) I can see The One World Trade Center from a Bus Stop in Brooklyn🚏
@@Wrestling316 Please post positive proof pronto, pics preferred
@@joeambrose3260 Alright. Next time I’m at the Bus Stop I’ll post The view of The One World Trade Center. But do you even live in NY/NYC or you just love arguments?
@@Wrestling316 57 yrs. Never saw the WTC from my window nor gave a rats' fanny about it. Many called it an eyesore. You gotta problem with that ?
Mooi ge edit en goeie kwaliteit ook! Jammer dat NY niet meer hetzelfde is zonder het WTC.
This is so relaxing im watching this at midnight
That was when my family and i traveled to new york for a vacation . I still remembere it like it was yesterday

Lovely video!
The towers were so damn amazing.
December 8 1993 dammm I was born in March so I was like 9months when this video was made !! born & raised in Brooklyn !!
The skyline is amazing.
Subways make me feel uneasy. When your on the platform and a train goes by you don't know what is moving the platform or the train. It feels like the platform is moving but you have to remind yourself it's the train that's moving.
I was in NYC in 1993, would it be funny if I saw myself? Like a back in time ...
At 11:30 that is not the Williamsburg Bridge, that's actually the Manhattan Bridge. Besides that, great footage. I was 3 in '93.
Thanks for your correction, Charles !
Yea I knew the towers looked waaaay too close to the bridge for it to be Williamsburg.
U looks very old
Was gonna say the same, but glad I looked first. Great video otherwise. I was a kid walking around town with my family in the winter of ‘93, I wonder if you were on the island at the same time.
Macy's Herald Square is not a warehouse. It's a department store.
thank you for posting this
i was 22 years old living in queens
Lucky bastard
It's basically the same today except the cars and smartphones. It's probably cleaner now than it was then.
So much history in that city. Shame that aside for central park, there is a sheer lack of trees. Humans took the wilderness and made it concrete
Early 90’s was the time for great house music. The clubs were amazing.
There's is a difference when u experience it yourself compare to when u watch it on youtube or tv,i remember those days,HAPPY TIMES with family, and friends, just GOOD tv show ,commercial and music of course and less bizarre incident i think
