dennis lochan So you know how trilogy works? Maybe it was just luck but there is one thing that has that trilogy doesn’t. And I can’t work it out. I understand it’s a DD deck. So everything makes sense to me except he starts by saying, any card. And then says, pic a very different card.
I can tell you the secret... watch it at 0.25 speed, and watch the cards very very carefully as they "appear" out of thin air. Notice anything strange?
Boy..Canada has so many great magicians! I watched lots of Fool Us episodes and some of the greatest acts were Canadians like Shawn Farquar or Wes Barker and loads of others, but unfortunately I had to google most of them to actually find out that they are Canadian. I have the impression Canada is a really magical country.
It’s not camera editing, but it is camera tricks. Derren Brown did similar when he trained a group of elderly people to steal a painting. This only works on video. There is another screen showing the background, and an assistant can hold the cards behind the screen fir Shin to take. He simply takes the cards from behind the screen. To us, we see the background and Shin’s hands are genuinely empty. It’s simple.
I figured it out...the cards are hanging by a thread and when shim “produces the cards” he just turns it to the face side. The other side of the card is black so it blends with the painting in the background. Play at 0.25 you’ll se what I mean. He only produces the card within the black spaces on the painting. It’s basically a setup which explains the weird painting position laying on top of the couch. Great concept though!
This could be very well it. The coloring of the video feed is a bit off, his hair also blends in with the painting. Blacks are darker than they should be. Basically a video editing trick. Pretty cool though.
you are very very very close, but that is not exactly how he did it. A little something is off in your theory. Not a crazy something, just a little something. :)

Well, I think even those who speak the truth can be really good deceivers. They only need to speak the half-truth. For example, the magician probably did not lie, did not force a card, did not do any fake shuffles, or any of that. But they can easily do something else such as taking a glance of the card at the bottom of the deck, make a slight indent on a card, etc. The best magicians are the ones who are truthful but still manages to fool us.

The tutorial on spideys channel was cool as well, I love this content, finally spidey is in the house man!!! One of my favourite magicians in the world, and shin lim as well🤗
Spideys trick: Step 1: Prepare a table with an absolute black mat Step 2: Before the trick, place three magneto cards(basically a card with one side magnetic) with absolute black on the sides with magnets and other sides with each 16,4,7♥︎ on the mat. Put the black side face up so Shin Lim can't tell that there are hidden cards. Step 3: Pull out a deck full of magneto cards. Step 4: Basically, at the start, he puts Shin Lim's three cards on each of the three hidden cards and use the magnets to stick it together. Step 5: Reveal the cards and the hidden cards will stick onto the three cards Shin Lim chose. This creates the illusion that Shin Lim guesses Spidey's cards right.
My crazy theory on the card-production 😂: They are real. They are somehow placed in the air in front of him but to a specific spot. From the angle of the camera this spot matches with the black background of the picture behind him. The cards are covered in black as well. He grabs the cards and reveals them.
Yup. Thats my theory too. If you watched some performances of shin(52 shades of red for ex.) You should know, its not the first time using that "black card back ond black background" technique. PS: My english may be bad. Sorry.
if you play it from 2:13 and pause at 2:15 (0.25 speed) xyou can see that his thumb is kinda cut like there was something but you gotta stop ir real fast and also thers like a black card also on 2:15
Both routines are VERY deceptive. Shins I know probably about productions, have no clue about envelope. Spideys I had an idea, but the same question as Shim had popped to my mind: HOW THEY FIT THERE??? lol Im fooled, by both of you. LOVE IT!
If you watch it at 0.25* speed you can see when Shin detaches from his body, writes that letter with Ipad, and prints it out while juggling with two burning pillows.
I think it's too good in that the only solution it has would be camera masking and another person typing/printing the letter. I'm assuming the true video feed without any modification would show a very different trick.
Right after I finished this video, I reconsidered my life choices. I do a lot of card magic but I respect you guys. You truly are on another level. I also went to the popsicle video because I felt like seeing it again!
I. Hate. You. THIS is why you're the greatest magician alive! Also, I literally lol'd at that blow sound. WTF Shin, I hate you so much!!! Much love, brother!
@shinlim @shin lim Gotcha 😋 There is a reason for the black picture in the background. Also it's a matter of the perspective. @2:15 and @2:19 you can see a black paper which covers the cards - watch with x0.25 but you have to get the right frame. Nobody can see this without having the advantage of replay and slowdown 😁 Well done! Also you are really starring at the spot the cards will appear because you have to grab them in this particular spot. And @2:41 you can see the black paper as the last card.
At 2:18 it looks a lot like a jump cut. There's an abrupt change in the position of his hand. If you watch it frame by frame, the hand suddenly moves a large distance which would only be possible with a cut unless you're the Flash LOL :) The shoulders and body suddenly shift and rotate too and hold the new position. I'm not 100% sure, but usually your eyes can easily tell if something is a cut and not real life movement, and this looks very much like an edited video. The cut before that was so well done I couldn't even tell it was a cut. After seeing the second one though, I went back and you can kind of tell that it could be a cut as well
At 2:15 his thumb is cropped (only visible if you play at 0.25x speed) and at 2:32 there's a black line visible on his hand. The second is also visible while the speed is on 0.25x. This explains the mastery of Shin Lim. It's not for human eyes.
I also watched and tried watching frame by frame and caught the cropped thumb at 2:15. Green screen? There is also possibly a digital artifact as the cards appear; a black line/box at the top of the cards. Still, this is an amazing effect and practically flawless in real time.
@@museblock The drawings in the black have backgrounds that are absolute black, and he probably hanged the cards or something with some sort of black covering so you can't see them.
what the actual fuck shin lim is so clean, i stopped frame by frame and i cant see anything... the force on the 9 of hearts is "simple" but in itself already really hard and fascinating, but the cards that just appear??? What the actual fuck man... this is super clean, shin lim is just amazing...
I have a pretty good understanding of magic and modern magic but Shin is fuckin' incredible and mind-boggling... my Gawd! I feel like I have an idea how Shin's productions were done and I actually hope i'm wrong about how I think he does it in this case. what i'm thinking is kind of far fetched and i'm really wanting Shin to be better than that. Spidey's always dope AF too. Either way it was tooooo good. Love both these guys! good job!
i played it back in .25 speed and caught shin lim lacking at 2:15 . you can see part of his thumb disappear and a little black space behind the cards. you can either do a green screen or video editing :)
Everything that he catches is lined up perfectly with his picture in the background. If you look super close the first, second, and third set of cards have 1 black card each. If you do a switch fast enough it will look like you pulled them all from thin air. Ideally he used invisible thread or another way to suspend them over the picture. @shin lim The other trick is prob just knowing his friend really well. Anyway it was a phenomenal performance man!! I hope to see more of your work. I love trying to figure this out. Once you see the black card it will be hard to ever not see it again. The only reason I caught it was it messed with the frame of the picture. Love your work too @spideyhypnosis
You're close, but not quite. Cards have black (or green) backs, and the background is fake (green/black screen). They are suspended or something, so when he flips them they seem to appear out of nowhere. There is no way he knew Spidey would say they were eating popsicles, so the letter had to be typed off screen by someone and slipped into the envelope... which can't be seen because of the screen.
Green screen soulds plausible, but I'd say it's edited because there are loss frames and frame cuts if you look carefully right before the production. As for the mentalism trick, yes it has to be typed and printed after the reveal. The first paragraph has been typed before hand, it's just a 9 hearts force. The second paragraph is typed by someone off camera
@@1077derek It's not edited. As for the mentalism part, the typing of the letter is obvious... nobody is struggling with that part. The difficult part is the placement of the envelope and getting the letter inside it. There is no switching of the letter, and the envelope has no secret slits or cuts in it... which again leads back to the use of green screen. Oh... the statement "green screen sounds plausible"... it's not plausible... it's a certainty. That part is not at all debatalbe!
WOW, just WOW. There are tricks where you can fool people who don't know about any card magic techniques. Some of them I can do myself. But to fool people who are experts in this scene, now that's a whole new level of magic! You can't do any "classical" tricks like double lifts or fake cuts or whatever, because they will instantly notice it.
My brain still hurts from literally everything you did in this video. This was so much fun dude! 😊

Right after I finished this video, I reconsidered my life choices. I do a lot of card magic but I respect you guys. You truly are on another level. I also went to the popsicle video because I felt like seeing it again!
Wow these were both great. Spidey's fooled me so badly.
I. Hate. You. THIS is why you're the greatest magician alive! Also, I literally lol'd at that blow sound. WTF Shin, I hate you so much!!! Much love, brother!
What i can say is : Amazing, men !!!
WOW! Nice! Both effects!
But really, how did Shin just pull cards out of thin air?
S Y it wasn’t thin air, it was thick
Magic
* wiggle my fingers *
take a shot every time he says genuine
@shinlim @shin lim Gotcha 😋
There is a reason for the black picture in the background.
That card production was the shiznittlebangsnap!. Great tricks fellas.
I see jump cuts. Shim's hair moves an inch on the second card pull
I saw the same thing too. The other pulls I didn't see anything so I dunno but a little suspicious..
@@museblock The drawings in the black have backgrounds that are absolute black, and he probably hanged the cards or something with some sort of black covering so you can't see them.
what the actual fuck
shin lim is so clean, i stopped frame by frame and i cant see anything... the force on the 9 of hearts is "simple" but in itself already really hard and fascinating, but the cards that just appear???
What the actual fuck man... this is super clean, shin lim is just amazing...
I thought I was on to Spidey’s trick as a 1 ahead trick but when he didn’t move the cards at the end he completely blew my mind. Thanks guys
Same. It just felt like that.
I hope he releases it. Very entertaining trick.
Can't it be two cards on top of each other? Just guessing! So, there were 6 cards all together but he showed only 3 cards to us!
Love both these guys! good job!
i played it back in .25 speed and caught shin lim lacking at 2:15 . you can see part of his thumb disappear and a little black space behind the cards. you can either do a green screen or video editing :)
thats true bro!!!!!!!!
But he did the same production on aft and that was liv
Only thing I can deduce about Shin after playing this video again and again at all speeds is that this guy knows black magic. He is really dangerous.
Where can we learn what the production of the 9's are called? or how to do it?
Finally an episode when they genuinely fooled each other....
Shin tutorial: "okay, so first you have to get yourself an infinity stone..."
Don't know anything else but he was always picking out the second card in the deck and the 9 of hearts was always on top. Rest everything🤯
2:15 watch it in 0.25 speed you'll see the editing😊
i believe it's angles, which is Shin's favorite in camera tricks. it can't be editing because it was a live stream that is uploaded on UA-cam later.
@@Viewer13128 i agree
The way you say "Okay cool" is just too cool🤭❣️.....and that's the word u used very often❤️
