  • Michael Eric Dyson is one of our nation’s premier intellectuals and a staunch defender of civil discourse. Nowhere is this more evident than in his keen-eyed view of the Obama presidency. By turns heralding and lambasting, Dyson follows the President’s navigation of race and racism in America-including the national crisis spawned by the traumatic killings of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, and others. Now with his long-awaited book, "The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America," Dyson returns to Chicago to discuss the meaning of America’s first black presidency. Dyson will be joined in conversation by Laura Washington, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and political analyst for ABC-7 Chicago.

in chicago he back doored a black woman alice palmer for senate, he nullified other opponents thru the election board commissions by challenging their signatures in further elections. he only ran against bobby rush to get his name known in the tricounty area of illinois so that he could be known enough to run for illinois u.s. senator. but he did try to take down a senior black politician in chicago rush against every black political figures admonitions. in that final race for senate seat it so happened that jack ryan and blair hull his opponents personal slanderous information was revealed that they were neutralized. carol mosel-brown thought obama would pitch her some recognition yet he coldly turned his back on another black woman of prominence in chicago. then his white grandmother and his white friend paul simon's daughter, simon was a famous white senator in illinois, gave him their endorsements.

Was it "civil discourse" when he recently referred to the 75 million Trump voters as "maggots"?

I find Dyson's criticism of President Obama's taking black fathers to task by using a quote previously spoken by Jesse Jackson, ironic. Evidently if you have means to pay the support, you are a great father. Tomcatting is all good if the check dont bounce by JJ. The family in our nation is being destroyed. This transcends ethnicity, socioeconomics. Obama spoke truth. Unfortunately, there is no insult like it.

No,President Barack Obama mother WAS Black just like his father WAS Black because the researchers at Ancestry.com found out that his mother came from the first black West African enslaved for life in america during the first days of slavery in the colonial period of the 1600s,his name was John Punch, and president Barack Obama is John Punch 11th Great-Grandson. therefore, his mother was a black West African,as John Punch was a Pure black man born some where in West Africa. And Obama father was also Black born in East Africa, therefore BOTH of President Barack Obama parents WERE indeed Black.
