Baby goat weighs only ONE POUND! // Homesteading

- Milk Dud the 1 lb baby Goat is a sassy girl. It was a banner week here on the homestead with kidding and lambing season kicking off with three doe kids being born to our Nigerian Dwarf goat Brenda Lee. One of the babies was especially tiny, weighing in under a pound at birth, and needed a lot of TLC to keep her thriving. Little Milk Dud is a fighter to say the least, and if she doesn't start growing soon, she might just be the world's smallest goat! If you like watching cute baby goats jumping and playing around the farm, stay tuned because this spring promises to be marked by all kinds of animal BABY FEVER, my milk cow Reba Milkentire is about to calf, we are expecting about 100 baby chicks, and we are bottle feeding the bummer lambs for Zack and his chew crew as well.

Hello
@@dhana6531 she’s fabulous! She’s starting in a whole new video next week!
She’s so cute …just watched a video from another farm where they have a tiny boy goat born 15oz delivered several weeks ago ..still doing well thankfully…..
You never forget the little ones you save. Been a long time since I was raising pigs, I still remember them.
They really do leave an impact. I've got another bottle baby this year and she is such a joy.
This kind of thing is a life lessen, that you can not understand unless you live it. Watch & read about it is 2nd best, but not the understanding that losing sleep will teach you. Being raised on a farm & having children did so much to deepen the depth of my life & soul. If it had not happened, I would never have known what I missed. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations! The "runts" as my grandfather called them, were always my favorites, no matter the animal.
I agree! The ones that fight the hardest to live are always closest to my heart as well.
That hoppity skippity thing kids do is the cutest and funniest thing ever, and Milk Duds hoppity skippity was uber-cute
So cute to see what the milk duds prints where inspired by.
She is so teeny and gorgeous! 💜 They all are!
She's a cutie pie for sure!
I'm glad to see Milk Dud is doing well... She's so freekin' cute I can't stand it!
I'm so happy to watch her thrive!!
Is a Milk Dud also a name of candy or chocolate in the US?
@@jonathancook4022 Yup
@@jonathancook4022 Yes
Milk Dud is just so darned cute. Fingers are crossed!
Doing something incredible...there,girl.GBY!
Thank you!
Life is indeed a gift from God. I grew up on the farm but didn't appreciate it as much as I wish I had. It certainly has had a influence in who I am today and how I live my life. Great, great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents. Wish I could hold one.
Amen! So glad you liked it!
I just found you. What sweet babies you have. Milk Dud is absolutely adorable. So are her siblings.
Welcome! Thank you! Nothing better than baby goats!
That is the cutest baby goat I have ever seen!!
All Milk Duds are wonderful!
The best!
Absolutely adorable 🥰! My dream is to have goats 🐐, sheep 🐑 and chickens 🐓! 🥰🙏

So precious little kids
Your the best Anne thanks for all you do😊
Milk Dud is amazing.
She is!
The world sure needs baby goat videos right now. This is fantastic!
We are in the business of sharing smiles around here, especially when times are tough.
@@AnneofAllTrades I'll be looking forward to seeing more babies! Thank you.
Just found you, I love seeing the babies. Thank you for sharing
Not too many years ago I had 75 milkers, mostly Alpines and Sannens. We made raw milk cheese. I only have a few left but they keep me in milk and meat. Along with the chickens and my stores of rice I should be able to hunker down till the guarden grows. I cant wait till the leaks come up in May.
GOOOOOO MILK DUD!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ANNE!!!!!!!!!
Grew up on a dairy farm and raised chickens, turkeys, rabbits, pigs, cats, dogs and horses. . we called the littlest of the litters the "runt". Mom would take it to the house and hand feed it until it was strong enough to stand on its own.
Bottle feeding isn't for the faint of heart. Your mom sounds like a saint!
Team Milk Dud! Super excited to see all the kids do well and learned a lot about this miraculous process!
Hi Anne, I live in a small village in the UK, my daughter helps out on a farm, mostly horses, but one year the owner decided she would try lambs. She got twelve sheep in kid, and they gave birth, but for some reason, the sheep all decided not to suckle their offspring so Donna (my daughter) phoned her mam, and she went off to help bottle-feed. The owner decided that she would put the lambs out in the field and if the mothers still would not feed them, nature would take over. As my wife had spent two days bottle feeding every two hours she said that it wasn't going to happen. I got up the next morning to find a lamb in a dog cage in the front room, we brought the lamb up with our two dogs, and she grew up like a dog. She was house-trained and went for walks with us and the dogs, but she was frightened by sheep! and wouldn't go near them she had a long and happy life, but she would eat my shoelaces every time she had a chance to get near my shoes. I bought a pair of slip-on shoes and you could see her trying to figure out where the laces were, it was hilarious. Our house was often the nursery for all sorts of animals but our sheep (Molly) has been the most entertaining and funny animal to date. People say that sheep are dumb animals, but it just goes to show that if they are given a chance they are as clever as any other animal, it is just that they are shoved into a field and have nothing to simulate their intelligence.
Your little Milk Dud is soooo cute!
I just had 2 1lb babies and there doing GREAT
So glad to hear it!
thank you Anne
So teeny tiny and so hugely cute!
Glad to hear they are all doing extremely well, mother too.👍🏽

I think that applies to any babies of the animal world!
I LOVE BABY ANIMALS!!!!
Who doesn't?!
Aweeeeeeee....Love the babies!!
OMG! So very cute! And "Milkdud" is quite the catchy name, just love it. Hope that you are able to get some sleep in during this busy season...and as always, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I stay pretty comfy in my office so thankfully getting some sleep again now that everyone is out of the woods!
@@AnneofAllTrades There is a bonus to moving across the country, an office and a place to sleep :)Maybe a future project can be you making a bed that will fold into itself and end up being a bench/couch for your office.
@@jackiegammon2065 Anne's Nashville craftmaster friend, Stevie Estler (@builtbystevie) can build her a murphy bed for the barn office :-)
Priceless
I've studied biology down to the atomic level. Life, and especially babies, never ceases to amaze me.
Nature is Devine.
Look like the tune feeding is really working!!!
Even if I'd had the worst day ever I would still have a huge smile on my face after watching this! You're doing an amazing job there, loving the new farm!
That makes me happy to hear! Thank you!
Fascinating.
Congrats Anne! You did a great job with the baby. We’re getting a cow soon too! So awesome you’re going to help with the lambs. You’re awesome!
Baby goats are so gorgeous. You are wonderful sleeping in the barn to look after them. Great loving care 😘
They sure do put a little pep in everyone's step! I don't have much choice but to give them the best possible care, as their steward, it's what I've agreed to do :)
So glad to see Milkdud bounce around!!😍
MilkDud is absolutely adorable. Thanks for sharing.
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing this information ❤ howdy from North Florida
I don't know if you follow The Hairy Farmpit Girls on Facebook, but it's two women in Georgia who run a goat farm and make soap from the milk. The sagas from this past year regarding the breeding and kidding seasons were absolutely hilarious. The names they use are also wonderful, like Vincent van Goat and Baaathsheba.
Milk duds so cute
OMG! Milk Dud is so cute. I love seeing the babies jump around. I love them!🖤
good stuff that little goat is real cute!
All babies are so cute, esepcially when we are chosen to be the ones to get them through their tough times... Good Luck Milk Dud!!
I showed your video to my 11 month old granddaughter and she sat through the entire video with wide eyes glued to the baby goats. Thanks.
They are just TOO ADORABLE for words!! And little milk dud takes the cake 🍰 hard to beat such a cutie!!🥰
Milk Dud … Best. Name. Evah!
OMG! I'm in love with Milk Dud! What a beautiful baby. You are by far the best thing these babies have in their young lives. I truly love your channel and it is one of my favorites.
Thank you and God Bless all those wonderful animals.

Congrats Anne! Great stuff.
Such a beautiful little miracle. Gosh , I just love watching them dance!
All the kids are adorable but Milk Dud is so precious! They all have such beautiful markings. What a joy to watch them play and bounce around!!!
So cute
Lovely to see a story of life and hope amidst the world health situation. Go baby goats!
Anne . . . you are, without a doubt, THE luckiest and most blessed person I know on this planet 🥰 Your life is rich with beautiful memories, awesome opportunities, so many amazingly adorable animals, a supportive life partner, great friends, a loving family, and now a ginormous homestead that you get to cultivate into whatever you want it to be (which I'm sure, in part, will include a healthy, eco-friendly, sustainable garden). You have the closest thing to heaven on earth that I can imagine
I am so happy Milk Dud is still with us. She is so tiny and cute. Her sister's are also darling. I learned stuff today! Thank you Anne.
Me too! And that is always the goal, sharing smiles and fun facts :)
I can't wait to get a Milk Dud sticker!
Thank you for sharing the happy news. Congrats to you for showing how to care for new 🐐 babies and mamas. Your positivity is wonderful to watch right now. ❤️
You are so welcome!
You are a major steward of the land. It helps that babies have the cute factor. I've worked with some children that weren't cute but became so. Satisfaction!
The kids a so very cute. My family’s neighbors when I was growing up had a couple goats and it was always so exciting watching them give birth and watching the grow. Kind of ironic that my wife now live close to a pretty large goat farm and it’s always so cute seeing and hearing the kids.
Is he smaller then little foot? Less than a pound, she’s a small one, just love the goats. Milk dud is a great name
Great looking goat
Cute little milk dude....have you heard of littlefoot...born 14.2 ounces
Never work with animals, especially cute ones, in videos. They will always steal the show lol! I've always loved the runts. Milk Dud is just too stinkin' cute!!
I love you're channel because you love your life so much!
Thank you! An attitude of gratitude and looking for joy in everything really makes life a whole lot better :)
Love and God Bless. You're an amazing person.
I should be needing an update on this kid, definitely 😁
She's the bestest!

Congratulations on the kids.
Great job on milk dud.
I use to raise pigs, and I did my best to save every piglet.
Blessings to you and your family
As stewards of creation, we always have to do our best. Sometimes it's not good enough, but we can sleep well knowing we did our best :)

I love little Mike Dud. I just finished eating some and I had to look at the box when you said the name. lol
hahahaha!
So glad you shared this. You are awesome!!!!! 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Your new babies are so flippin adorable. Sometimes I just wished I had the room for farm animals but unfortunately I don't, so I'll just have to settle for watching your videos to see them. I really enjoy watching your videos. They are very informative and entertaining as well. Your outtakes are really funny to see....lol.
Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for sharing and God bless
God is good, praying.
Love this video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your journey 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yay! Thank you!
They are so cute!
Go Milk Dud! 😍 I hope you're taking pictures for a 2021 Fluffy Calendar -- I miss not having one for this year.
Thanks so much! Many, many photos are being taken, but not quite sure how to distribute them this year, the calendars are a big time and money loss every year so if you happen to know a way to streamline that a little better I'm all ears, I LOVE doing them.
Milk Dud is the cutest thing ever.
She is so cute I want her
Absolutely adorable little ones. Does make me want to finish up the new chicken coop where can invest in some more. I love all animals but especially chickens lol. Hope it's been a great weekend. Bless you
are the stickers going to be 1/3 the size of the others?
"Milk Dud"...LOVE IT!!
Is it possible to be so overwhelmed by cuteness that you can get chest pains? Cause that's what I'm experiencing right now! 😂😂
Always love seeing you and your animals, and your always top care for them
I'm so glad I found your channel! You and the sweet doe are good Moms to Milk Dud.
We could all use big doses of cuteness and smiles about right now, so yeah...keep the "baby fever" going! :) Love the name Milkdud and she's so stinkin' cute. I also was rather enamored with the coloring and markings of the cocoa turned caramel colored one - so pretty! What is that one's name?
She's my favorite coloring as well! Her name is Brandi Carlile :)
