@@tribaldeity1939 Shannon Miller and Kerri Strug were the stars of 1996, not Dawes. Dawes was a great member but not the decisive member of the 1996 gold medal team.

Don't get so upset Nicole. The interviewers are young americans, cut them some slack... Do you honestly expect them to actually know who Nadia Comaneci is? They are probably conviced the first Olympiad ever was Atlanta 1996.
Why invite Nadia Comaneci there if all the questions were directed to Dominique Dawes..

Women's gymnastics has changed so much since 1976. You only have to look body types of the elite gymnast now and 1976 to know that. However, if a Nadia was alive today and allowed to compete, she would certainly win the balance beam. Her aerial cartwheel into back handspring is more difficult than anything Simone did plus, Nadia had elegance and better balance, and she had to perform on the slippery wood beam without the half inch padding of today's beam. Simone's slight wobble would have been considerably worse if she had to perform on the slippery, non-padded, non-springy wood beam. When Nadia competed there was no spring floor and grips hadn't been invented yet.

@Tjay 000 how did she "take over" the interview? Nadia didn't even attempt to interject or contribute anything to the convesation. If anything blame the interviewers for not knowing how to interview.
