I quit my 6 figure salary job (I know that’s not a lot today) where I was very comfortable financially and could buy mostly what I wanted. Very low cost of living area. I moved off grid, live in nature with no utility power, water or anything “normal” citizens have. I can say I’m 10 times happier than I was before working a job that I could have kept as long as I wanted. Being in nature hearing the birds and other wildlife throughout the day and being truly free is worth more than any amount of money. I’m content and understand how I truly want to live. This is my personal idea of being rich and I no longer strive to just get another promotion. My accomplishments now focus on how I can grow my own food, collect water and build more with my hands.
After losing both parents in the past two years... I have found that happiness isn't found by keeping any of their possessions or belongings even the ones that are super sentimental. I don't long to have or hold their belongings, just them, and I know I will when it's my time to go. Family is everything to me, that's my happiness!

I heard this song for the first time today. My husband is away working hard to provide for us more often than he's home. The way this song has reduced me to a puddle of tears in the middle of my kitchen floor while putting away groceries is incredibly telling of the way music can connect to our very souls and experiences. I had no idea this song had been out for a year or more. I've only heard it a couple of times on the radio and even then I would always catch it at the end of the song until yesterday. It came on the radio and I listened from the beginning to the end and all I can say is wow... definitely my new favorite song! I didn't have much growing up but I never went about. I got married very young and struggled for a long time. We finally bought an older mobile home on some property when my children were young, my son was about five and my daughter was two. We raised our children in that house until my son was 19 and my daughter was 16 years old. I wished and wanted a bigger better nicer house for years and years and years. In 2009 myself and both of my kids were in a bad wreck and I thank God they were both okay. I was okay but I was left with a neurological disease that has no cure for the rest of my life. Afterwards there was a big lawsuit and I was awarded a good amount of money, enough to buy a brand new modular home. I picked out every single thing I wanted from 9 ft ceilings to the kind of flooring I wanted I designed my enormous walk-in closet so many upgrades and every extra add-on I could get even the way it was built with extra insulation the best windows you can get. I got the whole nine yards and then some! At that point I had been married foreclosed to 23 years and after getting my beautiful brand new home right before my 29th anniversary I found out my husband had been seeing someone else and he filed for a divorce. After raising our kids in that little old house happily for so many years I got what I wanted (a new house) lost my entire life of almost 33 years together in an instant. Both of my children are grown married with kids of their own and I sit here day after day all alone in this big beautiful house. I live everyday in pain with a chronic illness that requires so much medication just to be comfortable enough to get through every day and every night 😢 So be careful what you want and wish for because you might get it but not in the way you imagined! Especially when what you had was already enough. And that my friends is what this song is all about. Don't take anything for granted and be grateful to our Heavenly Father for everything you have even if it's just a little old house, because that little old house was always filled with the most important things...love and happiness❤

I've realized after 10 years in a really hard career that money never is going to make someone happy. It's good to provide for family as a man and be self sufficient but chasing more and more is always a path to misery. I've lived that for a decade and it feels good to take a break from chasing that. My body is broken at 28 from my job can't even throw a baseball but I'm glad I did it and I learned a lot.

Man I really needed to hear this song for what it is, I've heard it a million times but never truly heard the lyrics. I've always been the person to want more, nothing ever good enough, I have 2 brand new cars, a beautiful home, continue to make more and more money and it's never enough. I didn't have much growing up but I never went about. I got married very young and struggled for a long time. We finally bought an older mobile home on some property when my children were young, my son was about five and my daughter was two. We raised our children in that house until my son was 19 and my daughter was 16 years old. I wished and wanted a bigger better nicer house for years and years and years. In 2009 myself and both of my kids were in a bad wreck and I thank God they were both okay. I was okay but I was left with a neurological disease that has no cure for the rest of my life. Afterwards there was a big lawsuit and I was awarded a good amount of money, enough to buy a brand new modular home. I picked out every single thing I wanted from 9 ft ceilings to the kind of flooring I wanted I designed my enormous walk-in closet so many upgrades and every extra add-on I could get even the way it was built with extra insulation the best windows you can get. I got the whole nine yards and then some! At that point I had been married foreclosed to 23 years and after getting my beautiful brand new home right before my 29th anniversary I found out my husband had been seeing someone else and he filed for a divorce. After raising our kids in that little old house happily for so many years I got what I wanted (a new house) lost my entire life of almost 33 years together in an instant. Both of my children are grown married with kids of their own and I sit here day after day all alone in this big beautiful house. I live everyday in pain with a chronic illness that requires so much medication just to be comfortable enough to get through every day and every night 😢 So be careful what you want and wish for because you might get it but not in the way you imagined! Especially when what you had was already enough.
And that my friends is what this song is all about. Don't take anything for granted and be grateful to our Heavenly Father for everything you have even if it's just a little old house, because that little old house was always filled with the most important things...love and happiness❤

I've realized after 10 years in a really hard career that money never is going to make someone happy. It's good to provide for family as a man and be self sufficient but chasing more and more is always a path to misery. I've lived that for a decade and it feels good to take a break from chasing that. My body is broken at 28 from my job can't even throw a baseball but I'm glad I did it and I learned a lot.

Man I really needed to hear this song for what it is, I've heard it a million times but never truly heard the lyrics. I've always been the person to want more, nothing ever good enough, I have 2 brand new cars, a beautiful home, continue to make more and more money and it's never enough. It seems I've been chasing ghosts... coat tails of happiness. It's not about any of that shit... I need to be more grateful for what I've got because it's actually more than a lot of other people have.

This song makes me cry, it's a reminder of what is really important and it's not always a bigger house, though likely the people you call family, whether they're really family or a few really close friends.
I asked a realtor once why older couples buy huge houses.. her response TAXES.. he may or may not have wanted a bigger house. If you earn decent money you hv to spend it on the few things that are a tax deduction or hand it over every April 15th
