*_What chain lube are you reaching for when your drivetrain gets squeaky?_*

Silca Secret Chain Hot Wax....100 miles since my last application and my drivetrain is still immaculate and running well. I only try to ride in dry conditions.

I love using Dry even in wet conditions just because of all the black dirt that comes with wet lube.
WPL dry lube and MucOff Ceramic Dry Lube are my favourites.

Dry Lube for me , easy to clean . Wet lube it’s too thick and it’s clean harder …

I can’t tell if my dry lube is actually lubed sometimes.

    I use a blend of 75% Squirt and 25% Muc-Off wax lube.

Now this is an informative, unbiased chain lube review, openly stating the pros & cons of each.
I also was exclusively using a dry lube when living in the desert SW...now in Wisconsin, pretty much wet lube all the time, even though it does attract more dirt.
Caught in the rain with a dry lube usually doesn't end so well.

Hmmm... I may have to rethink my Muc-Off dry lube choice. I live in Northern CA and I pretty much use dry lube the majority of the time. Gonna have to give that wet stuff try!

I've started using the wet stuff year round and it's been treating me great! Just gotta make sure to stay on top of cleaning the chain between every ride 😎 -Tor

I use the Park Tool Chain Cleaner machine thing with full-strength Simple Green to do thorough cleaning... I did 3 rides recently, starting with a basically clean chain. 1st ride was on asphalt, about 9mi, so that couldn't have been too bad, dirt wise. The next 2 rides were on the trail on mostly clean, redwood forest, perfect winter dirt, with sections of wet and short sections of mud. I wiped the chain down with a shop towel between the last 2 rides and put more regular Muc-Off Wet lube.
After the ride, the chain looked very wet and dirty. I used the Park Tool chain cleaner and I've never seen so much really fine dirt particles and stuff come off the chain before. It was seriously dirty.
But i have to say while riding, my derailleur felt great! Super smooth and obviously well lubed. So i guess it's a trade off. It seems the wet lube does pick up MUCH MORE dirt and grime, but it's a fair trade off I think. I feel the wet does actually lube better, but your going to have to clean more thoroughly and more regularly. My 3 cents on the topic, lol.

Wet lube has more tenacity and acts like a grinding paste.

A melted down candle with just the right amount of paraffin oil is the best of both worlds. Doesn't attract dirt and doesn't wash off. Obviously requires removal of chain and slow cooker but I think that's better for cleaning chain and better for application anyway.
