The Great North road has nothing to do with Nyeri Muranga Kiambu Embu or Meru that is why it has not passed through any of the above mentioned towns. Its target is Moyale before heading to the Ethiopia. If it was to be diverted to all small towns as per the wish of tolocal governors it won't serve its main purpose
They should first use that one up to marua we at Nakuru have a great north road which is still one carrier raod with all heavy trucks to Sudan, ug, DRC Rwanda, Burundi,even northern tz, you can't go past 60 kph
They are simply saying it would be nice to extend the dual road to Nyeri. It would be a feel good moment for Nyeri. However, their reasons are vague or biased. The town won't be by-passed in any way. You can't force people going to Nanyuki/Meru/Isiolo etc to go through Nyeri. A dual road from Marua to Isiolo will still be built.
