I have a '78 in the barn. It is getting rebuilt slowly. My ride is a naked Gl1100 with a single Weber carb riding on an aluminum manifold. Restoring to stock is really cool but I am a rider, Not a collector. My Gl1000 will get a single 2 barrel downdraft Weber carb Hot Rod.

Very resourceful video. I just bought to myself a 1976 model, as a new guy on the GoldWing community and I learned a lot! Thank you.

Hi, looks pretty tidy , is that the correct seat, it looks too long , is it supposed to have a small chrome bar at the back , I have a 76 in red . Cheers.

Yep, seat is correct for a 1977 model. The 75-76 models used a flatter seat without the step. Good eye on the chrome grab bar missing. I think I point it out in the video too. I'm still looking for one if you have one.

So nice to hear like minded naked Gold Wing people. A 78, 79 owner. Got rid of the 84 Aspencade. Been naked ever since...

    CLASS BIKE.

A beautiful bike. However the bars are too high, no sissy bar, the original seat would be nice, I don’t do “spoke” wheels as a rule, only goldWings. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for watching. In 1977, Honda put these taller bars on for the USA market. Agreed, they look too high...but are original. Seat is also correct for 1977 model year, but I am still looking for a correct grab rail for it.

I found one or these for sale last week ( a 1976 ) took a look at it yesterday and I will be buying it on Saturday!
It was rebuilt by the guy I'm buying it from and it's almost entirely original.

I was looking for a little demonstration of it on the road just to compare it to my old Yamaha 750 triple cylinder shaft drive back in 1976! I hate static demonstrations in my opinion! Otherwise beautiful bike!

I haven't figured out how to hold my cell phone and ride a motorcycle at the same time yet. :-) Maybe one day we'll get one of those fancy gopros everyone sticks on their head for riding videos.

Mine is all original except for the paint and color. When I bought it it had a Windjammer fairing, a mechanical cruise control and the mount for bags but no bags. I was able to source the front headlamp as well as front indicators. I also move the rear indicators to the license plate bracket after modifying the bracket, it makes the bike look longer. - One time while riding in the country I came upon a "T" intersection that had a long line of Harley's stopped at a stop sign. Every single one stared at the GL as I made the turn and rode off into the sunset. - I'd rather have the GL than a Harley any day.

Having owned four Harleys myself, I would agree haha

Mine is a nearly perfect 77 in Blue with 9200 miles. Never had fairings or accessory bags. Exhaust, seat and all look nearly new from a life indoors in the western desert. My roommate owned a Honda dealership in 77 and sold me a 750 four super sport, then while riding let me ride his GL. Had to have one and still do.
