- The Homes of Donegal performed by an array of Irish musical talent lead by Paul Brady, including Moya Brennan (Clannad), Glen Hansard (The Frames), Mundy, Sarah Siskind and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (Altan). This was filmed on the 3rd of May 2010 in Leo's Tavern, Mín na Leice, County Donegal and it's a great example of a good aul Irish sing a long!!!!
Brady goes through all the towns and villages of Donegal, even Mín Doire Dhamh at 5:14 !!!
This concert was part of the Save Our Scenery (SOS) campaign. Alternatives to Pylons and Coiste Timpeallachta Ghaoth Dobhair are local people objecting to the ESB & Eirgrid's plans to erect a 110kv power line on 20 metre (60ft) high pylons across 102 kilometres (63 miles) of Donegal's most scenic areas.
The proposed route goes through Special Areas of Conservation and areas of immense natural beauty that would affect protected species and habitats.
Not to mention the detrimental effect to local residents health. Studies in the UK, Germany and US have shown that incidents of child leukaemia and adult cancers are increased for people living near power lines. Childhood cancers increase 69% near power lines.
Since 2000 Donegal Alternatives to Pylons have raised over €25,000 in the community to fight this campaign at two Oral Hearings in 2000 and 2009, having to pay expert witnesses to argue the case against this over ground high voltage power line.
In order to in order to continue the fight to protect the community and Donegals natural beauty, Donegal ATP are conducting a series of fundraising Save Our Scenery GIGS.
Paul Brady the most underrated musical god I know. Absolutely brilliant.

The universe taps you as it will. And if you're fortunate enough to have some Donegal in you, you're already a lottery winner.
My children still remember my father Jack Mahoney whistling up and singing I just stopped in to see you all I'll only stay awhile 🎶 and I just received this song from my boys in honor of Dday and grandpa
I saw Paul in his concert in Dunlewy center after lockdown what a performance!😀

for lisa in austrlia plus family no place like home goood luck to you all
Just bury the power lines in the ground instead. That way you won't have power outages due to weather or trees falling on them.
Great!
Did Paul miss anyone there😁
Pol Bradaigh agus Dun NaGal go halainn Agus go hiontach!.
Absolutely brilliant
Beautiful music and friendly atmosphere. The erection of pylons project is a problem I know well as I lived near one of the natural wonders of France, the Verdon Gorge which was also threatened of being wasted by pylon erections as well. Like in Donegal, a local campaign was set up and eventually achieved victory over this project. Such plans are motivated by profit and nothing else...So, I wish you good luck to you all, inhabitants of Donegal, a place which looks beautiful.
Where is enya brennan in the celebration of her father's anniversary of his life.
Kayakan down the Orinoco maybe😂
i didn't know they were planning this. Donegal is so pretty. no giant pylons and overhead lines please
Mr Brady doing a Van the Man
Well, I think Brady actually sang/recorded it well before Van ;)
@@PeterOzanne correct - tis the other way around - a fella who taught Bob Dylan how to play a song of his is an equal of Van
encore
I wonder where Paul grew up......
Not into Paul Brady but that is nice
That muppet mundy
Was doing good until hearing fish and chips.
The sentiments in this song are a load of self congratulatory bollocks. One of the most horrifying nights of my life spent sober in the pub followed by a night in Bridie's. Aunt of Maire here. Myth spinning. The most inhospitable county in Ireland. Not that they're unkind just that they don't understand the vaguest notion of what tourists want.
What a load of balls you are talking...
@@marybarnes4131 spent half my life in that county
Who cares what tourists want ..we are not slaves ...Donegal People are different class and don't stand on ceremony ..tourists are welcome but it's the natural folk with their turf fires burning with that beautiful sweet smelling turf smoke that reminds me of heaven..if I ever get there.
You must be a gooby troll🙄🙄
