I am originally from SoCal. Nothing, and I mean nothing has made me more upset as a baseball fan in a long time. The history of this team in Oakland is vivid and full of star players. The eventual dissolution of the team, then up and leaving so many fans. It’s very upsetting.
As a fan of the A’s for my coming up on 17 years of existence, September 29th is the worst day of my life. Fisher is evil, and no one should ever back or support him, nor fund them. I watched this season with tears in my eyes, beginning and end. Baseball needs Oakland, and Oakland needs the A’s. Fisher is a disgrace to baseball
i was at the last battle of the bay, i did not leave my seat for all 9 innings. me and my childhood friend used to watch the As growing up, he passed away in 2022. this franchise may be one of the hardest endings in all of sports #FOREVEROAKLAND
The owner of the A's is a fool, but the city of Oakland carries some blame too. A city losing its NFL, NBA and MLB teams is not a coincidence. I watched an A's home game 20 years ago. The stadium was garbage then, and they did nothing in the last two decades to remedy this.
The A's played a part in the Raiders leaving. The Raiders wanted to stay in Oakland. They proposed either knocking down the Coliseum and building a new stadium on the same land or building in the parking lot. The plan depended on the A's finding a new location and freeing the coliseum land for the Raiders to develop. The A's said that they intended to stay at the coliseum site for at least the next 10 years which forced the hand of the Raiders. Las Vegas gave the Raiders a free stadium all to their own and they couldn't pass up that opportunity. Especially with the impasse the A's had created in Oakland. Mark Davis has said that he refuses to deal with the A's when (and if) they move to Vegas because of the situation they forced on him.
@@jabbitt05there was a plan to build right there , two stadiums , back to back with parking . Basically, both stadiums would share a wall to save space . It was an early render , but it looked possible.
I was at this game, as well as the last raiders home game and it absolutely felt different. The raiders moving was like a dagger to the chest, but the A's moving felt like the final nail in the coffin. There was incredibly loud "Sell the Team" and "Fxck John Fisher" chants but only happened 1-2 times each. Me and every other fan there just wanted to see the team they grew up loving one last time. It was heartbreaking and i absolutely cried as the last "Lets Go Oakland" chant led by Kotsay happened, but I wouldn't have wanted it to end any other way. Thank you for covering this and in the way you did, these past couple of years have felt like we were screaming into a hateful void and seeing the coliseum packed one more time was angering but just as much relieving to know us A's fans were right. Also its fxck john fisher forever.
Me, the Mets fan from New York who’s never been any farther west than Detroit, wept like a baby that day and it only got worse the closer to the bottom of the 9th.. Nobody should lose their team
I will say as an A’s fan here in the Bay Area it’s sad to see that Fisher’s plan to shift public attitudes about the team worked out. I dealt with so much harassment about the A’s move because the common person only repeated fishers talking points.
Thank you. This story needs to be told over and over or until John Fisher is completely out of baseball. The game deserves better. Oakland deserves better. Sacramento deserves better. And Vegas deserves better.
Such a great video. I had a feeling the cutout would be on fire before the end of it. Also never knew about Fisher’s ownership group for the Giants. Somehow makes me hate the guy even more!
This has me crying all over again. And I’m not even an A’s fan. This whole thing is just so wrong, and the wrong people are being punished. So many are done with MLB altogether. I was at this game, it was so bittersweet. Amazing to see the Coliseum full again but so sad to here everyone's storied history coming to the Coliseum.
As an A’s fan since going to my first ball game in a field trip back in the 2nd grade, thank you for making this video. It’s one thing to be a white Sox fan in 2024, but it’s another thing to be like them AND see your team leave only caused by greed and scapegoating. I remember that moment in the reverse boycott where everyone chanted “sell the team”, causing a pause to check pitch comms between Langeliers and Harris, only to realize it was so loud they couldn’t the pitch call. Don't forget to mention how for the week's leading to the final game, he swore up and down screaming that everyone who went would turn into a mob and trash the place destroy it and go after everyone stopping yet when the final out came we all stood there for an hour doing nothing but soak it in
Another masterpiece. Well done sir. I am still upset for the Oakland fans. It's BS what happened to them and it will never be right how they treated them
I've been to well over 100 A's games mostly sitting in the RF bleachers since 2001 (shoutout to dollar wednesdays) and I will say that I am heartbroken that they are leaving. I don't even know what to say except that it was always fun as hell at the Colisseum.
As an A's fan all my life i kinda saw which way the winds were blowing, especially when stadium talks and jack london square kept getting delayed. It was still shocking when the announcement came that they would move, though. Then last season came and i thought i was fine. I went the whole season watching every game and not really thinking too much about the fact that it was their last in Oakland. Towards the end of the season i kinda stopped watching and when the last game was on, i didnt start watching until the 5th. I was just sobbing. Then Ricky died and now its truly over. The Oakland A's died with Rickey. Its a shame the hometown kid never saw his team with a new ballpark with his statue out front. RIP Rickey!
Remember Cisco park in Fremont. Would have been done 15 years ago. That feel apart, how many other attempts at getting a new stadium failed for the A's.
There's a chance I was the last new Oakland A's fan, having jumped on in July when I had a summer contract with provided housing in the Bay Area. My reason for jumping on was actually the current situation, with me being an urbex fan wanting to document OCo "before it goes abandoned" as I put it at the time (it aint going abandoned, we got the Oakland Roots). I happened to fall in love with the place though. From the "A's team farm" (that I hope the Roots keep and expand as "Coliseum Garden", it was built by volunteers) with figs and blueberries to the historical artifacts from the early 1900s Philadelphia Athletics era to the magic of my first gameball to being given a Pride jersey by another fan during a "kids run the bases" event where I actually got to go on the feild to sitting near the Last Dive Bar and Barstool Chicago guys by sheer coincidence for the game against the White Sox that cemented the 21 game loosing streak. If it's not clear even in the short amount of time I had the Oakland A's I had a lot of great memories at OCo that simply cannot be replicated by anything. Even if I left the bay at the end of August due to my fall contract being in SoCal, I kept watching games on pirated streaming sites like First Row Sports. After baseball season ended in September (which hit me a lot harder than I thought it would as I had grown a real attatchment to that core of Butler, Rooker, Bleday, Miller, Langaliers, ect) I started watching the Roots. While I won't know the pain of getting invested in the A's as a child and sticking with it for years and years only to see them leave (a pain my grandparents from Kansas City actually know, as they were children when the A's moved from Philadelphia to KC, my dad was 2 when they left KC for Oakland. So in a twisted way, I was a multi-generational A's fan) I am an Oakland sports fan for life due to my experience going to A's games last summer.

I flew out there to try and watch the Sox unsuccessfully earn the longest losing streak in history. Since I was in my A's gear for most of the trip, I talked to a lot of people all around the Bay Area about the team. They were so passionate, but that nepo baby straight up screwed them over. That week of getting to be a fan with them was amazing
The catch is top tier education isn't a top-tier education it's top-tier connection, far from creating critical or deep thinkers it simply reiterating one's sick little nepo status in life......
I feel so bad for Oakland fans…an extremely passionate and loyal fanbase being screwed over by some loser billionaire who no one loves or cares for. I wouldn’t blame them for losing interest in the sport completely idk what I’d do if the Mets ever had this happen to them.
Why was it ok for the Warriors and Raiders to move, but everyone blames Fischer for the same thing. Blame the city of Oakland for being the first city to lose 3 Major Sports franchises in 5 years.
Largest construction project in the history of California , and in the end , only about 90ish million apart . Imagine being a billionaire, and not cutting that check . If it was only a stadium, it would be built . Both the coliseum and Howard terminal should be rebuilt , the city got a ton of grants to rebuild .

Rockies next? Would love to hear your thoughts especially after this vid. the Monforts are almost on the opposite end of the bad ownership spectrum to John fisher. Just way too overinvolved despite not understanding anything
I actually thought about doing the Rockies for 2024. The opportunity to give some catharsis to A’s fans was just too much to pass up, but they’ll definitely be on the top of the list of bad teams to watch heading into this season. Can’t wait to psychoanalyze Dick Monfort’s emails.
Related to the topic though, I went to the second to last series at the coliseum and was VERY surprised to meet a couple of fans who blamed the city more so than Fisher for the relocation. That was not something I envisioned
Yeah I covered the Fisher side of things but the city definitely should carry some of the blame. It’s a situation where two parties put their own best interests above anything else, and Fisher happened to be the one with a safety net and was much less willing to give in because of it.
What song do you use during your Patreon plug? I actually went in and checked through all the songs in the description (which are all bangers btw) and I couldn't find it.
@@nomorefielders So what you're saying is that you'll be content with an Oakland expansion team? (that is NOT named the A's) If you're consistent you will say YES 😁

I actually thought about doing the Rockies for 2024. The opportunity to give some catharsis to A’s fans was just too much to pass up, but they’ll definitely be on the top of the list of bad teams to watch heading into this season. Can’t wait to psychoanalyze Dick Monfort’s emails.

no more fielders just said no more fielders at like 40:08 holy shit
I HAVE BECOME SELF AWARE AHHHHHHH
TIME FOR SOME GRAN TURISMO SOUNDS
…oh and a baseball video
Related to the topic though, I went to the second to last series at the coliseum and was VERY surprised to meet a couple of fans who blamed the city more so than Fisher for the relocation. That was not something I envisioned
Yeah I covered the Fisher side of things but the city definitely should carry some of the blame. It’s a situation where two parties put their own best interests above anything else, and Fisher happened to be the one with a safety net and was much less willing to give in because of it.
40:05 Yooooooooooooooo!
This is good.

What song do you use during your Patreon plug? I actually went in and checked through all the songs in the description (which are all bangers btw) and I couldn't find it.
as an A’s fan…. This video was painful, it sucks man
Holy name drop around 40 min
I was there homie
She sounds just like Bart Simpson. She not good even for a softball game. This used to be the big leagues now it’s little league.
Next make a video on how they were stolen from Kansas City and Philadelphia 😁
Shame that those cities never got another baseball team
@@nomorefielders So what you're saying is that you'll be content with an Oakland expansion team? (that is NOT named the A's) If you're consistent you will say YES 😁
Waiter! Another NMF hour long video please!
Drummers / baseball fans unite
Is this a series now 👀?
You betcha
Shut up, you're crying! 😢
In Jenny Cavnar's defense, A's Play by play already sucked.
This is a good take
People call the Unabomber crazy but if he was still around Fisher would have been blown up years ago...... Kaczynski certainly hurt some innocent people but he targeted the worst of society, and sometimes got them
42:08 watch your mouth bro, not the astrodome

Idk why but for some reason I thought he died in 2021 but nobody really cared so it wasn’t a big story
Stolen? 😂 when yall couldn't be bothered to show up for games till they sold em 😂
I can’t wait to watch John Fisher win a WS in LV. Hope he blows a kiss to Oakland as he holds it up the trophy.
*how Oakland lost the raiders, warriors and A’s a deep dive into a shitty city. Fixed the title for you.
The Former mayor of Oakland that was in charge of keeping the Athletics in Oakland just got indicted by the FBI. John Fisher is not as bad as people think.
John Fisher is a POS , if you can , talk to the former employees , they all signed nda's . But things leak out .
See the difference between them is about 3 billion dollars
