In the video 5:03, 14:14 and 15:13 the cards displayed on the screen have the incorrect wording. These cards were updated and we took the cards from the doomlings website for the 1st edition
So, with the natural harmony age, at around 6:00, didn't it say you can not play the same color as the last one? So the Quick trait should have been a different color..?
Last catastrophe you would pass two cards to each other in a two player game I very much enjoyed your presentation! Your camera displayed your game quite well! I was pleased that you placed each card on the overhead, so that I might read it. Suggestions: 1. Maybe zoom out a tiny bit more or just start a second column of cards. The game goes by so fast that I don’t think it would get too crowded. 2. He might adjust his trait cards to match hers. That way you can see the face scoring value of the cards. He had his scoring points covered. Other than that, Thank you for sharing!
11:42. After the grey goo catastrophe stabilisation is done. I guess this means the turn is also over immediately and a new turn starts with turning a new age. Instead both players play traits and stabilise again.
Is that the rule or are you asking? It's our understanding that when grey goo is played, you need to discard your hand, stabilize to your gene pool and then proceed with that round. Rulebook states catastrophe cards effects last for the round. The round effect for grey goo is discard and stabilize.
Protofeathers was not played to the traits pile because it was used as part of a effect. 9:55 cierra plays elongated neck which allows her to use an action from a card in her hand. She used protofeathers action. The "ignore actions" means any card that was played using protofeathers, you are not allowed to use thier action. Hope that helps
Unless otherwise stated, you will only stabilize at the end of your turn. So if a catastrophe requires you to discard cards from your hand, you will not draw back up (Stabilize) until the end of your turn
14:25 she plays a blue bat that says you may play a purple trait. I don’t see where it says from the discard nor did she play a purple card. It was blue.
So Fey is allowed to be played at anytime from your hand. The picture on the screen is wrong as it is from the Kickstarter version of Fey. They updated Fey card and wording for the retail version of the game which is the one we are playing! I hope that makes sense!
I'm sure this has been said already but the guy should not have discarded a card at the first catastrophe because he did not have any purple cards in his gene pool.
15:29 the card he played says draw cards ( no specific number) until he draws a mythic/method card and then place the rest at the bottom of the pile. Why would he be picking a color?
14:14 did the action of pterosaur wings mention to play purple trait in discard pile? Please advise. I'm still learning ( and you played blue , not even purple)
The images of the cards in this video were taken from the doomlings website of the 1st edition cards. Since that time they have updated some of the wording on the actual cards themselves and the versions in retail and website are the 2nd edition. Pterosaur wings is one of the cards. On the actual card in the game box itself it states "You may play one effect-less trait from the discard pile" I will update this in the video. Thank you for pointing this out
You only stabilize at the end of your turn once you have played a trait card. That is the only time you would draw cards unless you play a trait that allows you too or an age tells you to draw cards. In this scenario if a card says "do not stabilize" you will simply not draw any cards at the end of your turn. Hope that makes sense!
@@gamingwiththepowers that makes sense! Thanks a lot!. There's a lot of grey areas that I've run into and trying to learn everything that I can't find answers to.
@@vidfreak727 The way this game plays is pretty simple. You do what the cards tell you to do. If a card effect tells you to draw (?) cards during your turn, then draw them. At the end of your turn, you must stabilize to your gene pool limit. So if your gene pool is at 6, and you have 3 cards in your hand at the end of your turn, you draw cards until you have 6. If another card effect or AGE directs you to draw (?) cards, then you simply draw (?) cards. You don't have to stabilize until the END of your turn, so if you have those 6 cards and are directed to draw (?) more, then you do what the card says. Play your turn and then stabilize. if you have more cards than your gene pool allows, discard until you are back to your limit (6). If you have less, then draw until you have 6.
Why did you discard a card 7:21 when you had no purple traits in your trait pile? Also, at 14:14, Pterosaur Wings clearly says you may play 1 PURPLE trait from the discard pile, not an effectless trait.
Serious question, I am considering buying this game. However,it just seems like you are playing cards with very little strategy. Seems completely dependent on random draws and you just count points of what you play. Are there any synergies or combo type things? This game just doesn't look fun. Can anyone sell this game to make me want to buy it?
Isn't that majority of card games tho? 90% of card games depend on card draw and what you have in hand. There are synergies and combos it just depends on the type of cards you get. The game is a very fun family game or refresher after playing a longer game
The version of Fey we have is the 2nd edition and has updated text from the picture. The pictures we took were from the 1st edition on doomlings website! thank you for pointing this out, we will correct the mistake!
15:13 I'm starting to get confused of what I'm learning. The card mention "draw until" and I heard you said draw 10 cards. And even choosing colour. OMG! WHAT IM WATCHING.
Same as the other comment. The card on the screen is the 1st edition card and the card in our box is the updated 2nd edition. Again thank you for pointing this out and we apologize for the confusion this caused
You shouldn't have played Quick when you did - the age said you couldn't play a card of the same colour as the last one played, and Kidney had been played just before...
Damn, mans was cheating on his second turn 😂 she only put down two traits because her card action allowed it, but he played two traits because she did but he was supposed to draw two cards according to the era, not play two cards
In the video 5:03, 14:14 and 15:13 the cards displayed on the screen have the incorrect wording. These cards were updated and we took the cards from the doomlings website for the 1st edition
thank you guys! seeing your layout helped immensely with a little confusion for me and my son in learning.
Happy to help!
Boom! Subscribed! Really great video! We just purchased the game as a Christmas present! We need more videos like this!!! Keep those videos coming!
Thank you so much! We plan to do an updated playthrough as this was one of our very first videos and made some mistakes!
So, with the natural harmony age, at around 6:00, didn't it say you can not play the same color as the last one? So the Quick trait should have been a different color..?
6:31 catastrophe: It was right for her to discard a card because she had only 1 purple, but he should not have because he had none.

Yes we have one on our channel! ua-cam.com/video/2xuf_BTCJ-s/v-deo.html
10:08 why wasnt protofeathers put down on the trait pile? What does “Ignore Actions” mean?”

Do you stabilize after a catastrophe?

Question about stabilizing. When a card says do not stabilize and you have played your trait already. What would you even do at that point then?

How many traits can I play per turn?
Only one, unless a card or age specifies you can play another trait
If you play a card with no action, what effect does it have on the game?
no effect on the game. You would just merely be playing the card for the points it would score
@@gamingwiththepowers ah ok, so not all cards are used to counter other cards?
Whats with the 3 cards face up top left?
Those are the three foil cards we got from the box

The version of Fey we have is the 2nd edition and has updated text from the picture. The pictures we took were from the 1st edition on doomlings website! thank you for pointing this out, we will correct the mistake!
Why do you have 3 dominant cards sitting at the top from the start ?
Those were the holos that we pulled pulled and just had them on display
6:38 as the guy doesn't have purple in his own traits, he doesnt need to discard any card right ? Just to confirm.
Correct, there were no purple traits in his trait pile so he does not need to discard a card from his hand
7:16 why did he discard the purple minus 1 card then if he didnt need to discard a card?

Thanks for pointing that out! I thought I caught it when I was editing the video, rookie mistake on my part!
4:49 doesn't he need to draw 2 card first due to the age ?
Yes, If you watch a bit later @5:22 I mention I forgot to draw 2 cards
With so many mistakes in this game, you should just redo the video.
We planned on it when Overlush arrived, if it ever does at this point haha
The rules seam simple but these two can't follow them! 🤑

nah the card was shown as the kick starter version, the one they are playing is retail and that card can be played at any time
