    I tried my very first An Oa today and it knocks me out. I only knew the 10 and the Beastie but I definitely like this more. More balanced and mellowed.

    Great introduction about the land and all. You could be a tour guide.

    A lot of the northern islands in Scotland have no trees because the winds up there, have blown them over. Take a waterproof jacket and a fleece and a beanie hat if you go this far up into Scotland, in winter-time. Midge repellent too, in the summertime

    Great vid.... Love the An Oa especially after a long cold surf in cape Town in the winter. gone right off the current Lagavulin 16 oddly. Swear its changed. Thanks guys

    Wow. This is a fantastic scotch. They have this at my local Costco right now for $54 which is an absolute steal in my opinion.

    I think I might like this one. Our LCBO has it listed now, but not available yet. Can't wait to get a hold of this.

    Curious, I've always gotten a bit of sea salt from An Oa. Anise Seed nailed that flavor I was struggling to place. Bravo

    Just discovered this one on the shelf at the local grocer earlier tonight. When the time is right I shall be buying one soon to try..... The AN OA sounds delicious............

    I think the An Oa falls a little between some of the others but also a little short compared to the Ten, Corryvreckan and Uigeadail ... the nose develops nicely enough and is distinctly Ardbeg right off the bat there are things to look for and it has a pretty persistent smoky finish but to me it's not quite as fulfilling and finished as the others. Feels young, like the flavours maybe need to come together more.

    • @janteun3
      @janteun3 Рік тому

      ofcourse this one is slightly worse then the 10 year old this one is no age statement that means they olso can put 4 year old whiskey in the bottle becouse the beastie ardbeg is 5 year old they put there a age statement on that bottle

    • @whynottalklikeapirat
      @whynottalklikeapirat Рік тому

      @@janteun3 I don’t think An Oa is THAT young, to be fair. I am a great fan of the 10 however if feel like that quality of it has been somewhat declining lately, to where I looking to other whiskys in the price range …

    Very good ardbeg. I would Say this one taste better than the ardbeg 10, but is not as complex / incredible / good as the uigedall. Uigedall is juste CRAZY, the n'est whisky i've ever had, really. But this one is interesting still because it is more à daily drink (less alcohol) than the uigedall, and cheaper.

    Another great vid....I am possibly alone here but I actually prefer this to the Ugi.The 10 in my opinion remains the best of the bunch. Cheers.

      Viktor E I second this. I greatly want one of these hand made gems. I like the flat surface at the bottom to air the whisky. Been searching for one ever since you introduced them to your channel! Please Hoarst!!!!

    Tried this at Ardbeg distillery in Sept and was not impressed. Would take the Uni or Cory over this one by far. And also why do you guys just open a sample and not open the bottle? Just curious.

    I'm considering adding another Islay whisky to my fairly-new collection and thinking of an Ardbeg. The 10yo is at a reasonable price at the moment or would I be better to pay slightly more for one of the NAS bottles? Thanks

      Peter 0 - I'm not being a dick. Just being honest. If he can pronounce vanilla with a V, which he does, he can pronounce available with a V. Also, his son, Ben, says available with a V.

      Hey Joe, how many languages do you speak?

    • @joematch2529
      @joematch2529 7 років тому

      Knight Artorias - I tried replying to Sonny's comment but it doesn't work for some reason. It does not matter how many languages I speak. Horst is capable of pronouncing the word correctly because he pronounces the word "vanilla" with a V. Also, Sonny says in his message "give these two gentlemen a break", but if he read my responses he would see that I pointed out that Ben pronounces available correctly with a V. So please tell Sonny that he is a dick, an idiot, and an asshole.
