Ok so you have a few things incorrect. The shock won't bottom out internally unless you have removed the bump stops period. Also you haven't said anything about the important relationship between tyre to the top of the inner guard and bump stop. That needs to be setup first which you can only do with the base platform adjustable. Then you set right height with spring lengths and keeper springs to suit.. MCA Red suspension are base platform adjustable and spring purch adjustable combined for this reason. This is how actual track specific shocks are setup.
