I love big eyeshadow palette collections and declutter videos! I always say to each their own. I work hard and eyeshadow palettes are my weakness and they make me happy to look at, wear, swatch....
Like I tell my hubby we could have worse habits, lol (he collects tools 😉). I love the idea of bookshelves for display and storing but my book shelves are full of books and I am out of space. 🤔🤫🤗
My husband collects tools too, and then he asks me why I have so many eyeshadow palletes!!! Lol
I collect palettes too, and work hard so I don’t feel too guilty when I buy a new one now and then. I have regular ‘sip and swatch’ times where I go through random palettes in my collections, and swatch them for fun while sipping a drink. 🍹🧉🍷🍸🥃🍺☕️

You can try to depot that Alien palette, Jeffree's shades are magnetic so you can just put them on a magnetic palette and you'll save some space!

I honestly don’t own any but I’ve seen other videos and they said they weren’t magnetic and I watched them depot and destroy them

I remember my military days. At the time I had two large Estee Lauder eyeshadow palettes my aunt gifted me for Christmas. Mostly neutrals and I hit pan on quite a number of those shades.
Decluttering videos are my favorite, you did a great job going through all of them.

I love the long video! I’d love to see a video on your all time favorite shimmer/wet look eyeshadows. I don’t wear a ton of eyeshadow but I do love those wet look topper shades and need some good ones, singles or in a palette! Thank you for the long declutter Ashley! I could watch them for hours and hours 😍
I think last year I forgot to do my single shadows but I’ll make sure to do them this year! Allot of my fav wet look and shimmer shades tend to be individuals.

I hope to have a collection of eye shadow pallets like this someday. I used to not even wear makeup, but the more I got into it, the more I love having different things to play with. LOL Between my makeup and books, my shelves are full! BUT, there is always room for more!! HAHAHA
I was like that. Only Eyeliner and lipgloss but now many options to express creativity.
Same! I don't quite want an eye shadow collection as large as this, but I have definitely grown my collection a lot over the last 2 years! I hate having to get up early to put on a lot of makeup before going to work. But I love playing and switching all the fun colors and textures!

I just reorganized all my pallets on to book shelves because like you I forgot about things that got buried at the bottom of a drawer. I love being able to see what I have!

This was a fun video to watch. Love your passion for your eyeshadow collection. I believe we can try them all if we rotate. I wrote “we” because I have also a nice collection. I rotate after using a palette at least 4 times and push myself to use all the shades. Date them and a check mark on each shade to remember I use it 😂. Thank u for such an entertaining and informative video.
Thank you! I think that’s a reasonable practice. I’m able to do that more with neutrals for sure but after work and on weekends it’s definitely colorful eyeshadow time!

I wouldnt necessarily call this video a declutter; more like a collection one. I truly believe you dont need that many neutral palettes 😅 but in the end, this is your make up collection. To me it would be a bit overwhelming to have that amount of make up, but again, this is me and that is you :)
I just decluttered probably 500 hundred makeup items I bought a beautiful bookcase to store all my eyeshadows I thought I would keep more than I did but eyeshadow formulas have really come a long way in the past 3 years my older pallets just couldn't compete
I love my older palettes but I agree, the formulas continue to get better and perform so well!
My Nouveau palette also came with the shade Lilli broken!! I was able to press it back in, and I absolutely love the palette...but I wonder if a lot of people had the same issue.
I like watching makeup channels so I can get a sense of what is good to use
I use the shimmers in my Huda Neon Obsessions palettes quite a lot. They're really pretty. It's fun seeing someone on YT that likes pressed glitters. I like them too. Sometimes easier to use then finicky indie shimmers... Ohmmg 😁we seem to like a lot of the same palettes. I love my TF, JSC and UD too which also seems rather unpopular on YT. And you got Norvina too 😍I unsuccessfully attempted an eyeshadow declutter today but so far no luck. I have 1 or 2 CP that I'm going to depot and maybe some small Oden's Eye but otherwise I don't want to let anything else go right now... I would love less bulk but I don't want less palettes😅.. I did a bit of a lip product declutter and foundations. I'm decluttering quite a few other things in my apartment to generally make more room.

I love eyeshadow palettes, especially colorful,looks. I am an artist, so I love color. After all, the face is just another canvas. I love looking at other peoples collection, and mine is fairly large considering I am not on UA-cam.(no one wants to see a 65 year old using lots of shimmers) duo and multichromes are my kryptonite. I do have a running list of my palettes, and try to choose a different one every day so I can use my full collection. I also don’t care about using more than I palette at a time-I just don’t mind mixing. I am an artist, so the more shadows I have I am happy. Just found your channel and am liking it a lot!
That is amazing! I feel it doesn't matter how old you are if you like shimmers, glitters and fun colors you should use them because it's what make you happy!

I think a lot of the people who give away half or more of their collection have an easier time doing so because they get most of their collection in PR. When you don’t pay for something, it’s easier to let it go in my opinion. I had 300 palettes and just decluttered 20 (gave most away and threw away 4 due to old age or poor quality). There were a couple more I thought about decluttering but I decide to wait on them because they are sentimental since they were given as gifts. My goal is to only get 24 palettes this year. That may seem like A LOT abut for someone who was buying sometimes 10 palettes a month back in 2021, 24 is a modest amount for me. Next year I can reduce it to even less palettes. I declutter once a year and it helps my collection not get too out of hand. 😊
I agree with the statement about PR. I tried to be honest with myself this year and to some it might not seem like I got rid of allot but to me it was hard. ❤️
@@AshleyLorraine I think you should be proud of yourself for letting go of whatever felt comfortable parting from. Decluttering does help us keep our collections to comfortable sizes for us, and since we give most of it away to others then I don’t see it as too wasteful. 😊

One of the things I love about you is that you stick to your convictions about various things, including whose palettes you chose to buy, and not using foul language on your channel. There are some that use extreme foul language their entire videos, and I turn them off. I'm not there to hear how cool they think are talking like that. I'm there for good make-up.

Thank you! I try my hardest not to cuss. When I get excited it seems like every other word is profane but when I watched my videos back when I started my channel I thought it was funny that I could talk for over an hour and not cuss. So it's possible. 😬

Think this may be the biggest eyeshadow collection to date I have watched. I am sure there others who have over 300 eyeshadow palette I just ain't seen them lol but I just subscribed to your channel cause I found you looking for eyeshadow declutters lol I love new ideas for brands I ain't familiar with and to see if people love a palette I really want but have not bought yet. I’m not a fan of Pat McGrath, but those mini palettes with frosted plastic packaging are phenomenal. Better than a mothership of hers I tried to be honest. And way cheaper. I got the neutral one off sephoras site a couple years back when she had them for half off. Have panned three of the five shades in there. Don’t regret that purchase. Definitely regret purchasing a mothership and a few quads of hers though.

To the realization that even though I love a lot of the color stories…i was hardly gonna use any. I decided to keep only ones that I was gonna use at least a third to a half of the palette. I narrowed my collection down to a little over 100 and I’m so happy I did so. I don’t feel so overwhelmed now. So many of my palettes I just forgot about until I’d go through my collection periodically.
I've been reaching for a bunch of them on days that I'm not filming and I've been on vacation so I've had more flexibility with my color selections.
Yeah you can tell by looking at them that she hasn't even touched most of them . . .
Have you thought about depotting the JSC palettes that are hard to store? I have conspiracy and Blood money and I am considering taking the Shades out and putting them in a Z palette instead.
I hae thought about it. I like the packaging but the clunkiness outweighs that so I might look into doing that.
I tried but it was hard for me to depot. I tried depotting the blood lust but started cracking a shade with the spatula, so I aborted the mission. 😅 I’m going to put that palette in a plastic bag because it attracts dust since it had a crushed velvet texture.

I can’t handle any bulky packaging! Lol. I took apart the BH zodiac palettes and stuck them in a magnetic palette! It’s really interesting to see other peoples makeup preferences….I think I own one brown neutral palette, and pressed glitters scare me!

@@AshleyLorraine I was wearing a pressed glitter on Halloween, like five years ago, and a piece of glitter got stuck in my eye. My eye doctor had to numb my eyeball and pull it out with micro tweezers. I got eye drops and a really sexy eye patch…..I would prefer to not repeat that amazing experience…..

I'm not a big fan of jeffree star, but that being said I have been interested in his makeup. I'm glad that your channel is just about the makeup. You're not in the wrong for liking a certain makeup brand and I appreciate the fact that you dont judge people based off of what makeup they buy or use. When it comes to makeup whether you like the creator or not you can’t deny the quality of a product and that’s what should be judged.
I want to love the 9 pan Huda palettes. But the formula is wretched, in my experience. It seems like once they sit for a month, the formula self destructs. I still buy the large palettes, but no more of those...
Oh that's weird I haven't had that issue. I do need to rotate them back in and see how they are now that they're a little older.
