VERY VERY Important! Once you knock on that door, ALWAY ALWAYS Step back several feet to talk to the homeowner. That way you won’t be intimidating or to possibly be a home invader/burglar. I sold encyclopedias door to door (as a young adult) and that’s one of the first rules you learned.
Great video! I always find it hard and a little nervous knocking on doors. You never know who will open. Really good tips and I will definitely use a few. Information cards are on my list! Thanks a lot!👍👍👍😁
I really enjoyed the video guys and loved the bloopers 🤣 We can always learn something new if we take the time I came away with not using certain words as dig, hunt, silver as I usually always use the word dig 🤔 I always try to just talk and try to educate homeowners on our hobby to try and preserve our hobby getting a bad rap! Thanks so much for your time in putting this together and for the contest 👍😁 , Shannon Neese
Outstanding video! I learned that your wife has an abundance of patience! Haha You reinforced something I learned early on.... Approaching a stranger's door, appearance is the first thing people notice. I look like I just walked out of a federal prison, so I take squeak with me when I door knock!
Great video guys and some wonderful tips! 👍 Never door knocked or had a permission yet so this is great! Hope to take the plunge this coming digging season. Looks like you guys had s great time making this. Thanks, ATB &HH!
Thanks for the video. I am new to the sport so I feel quite intimidated by the prospect of knocking on a strangers door. I never really thought about the way I dress since I would be digging in the dirt, but it makes a lot of sense. Thanks 😊
Great video. Good idea about the first 30 seconds. And to wear clean clothes. Don’t look like a bum. But I still don’t have the nerve to knock on someone’s door.
If the answer is no, leave your card and remind them that if the EVER lose something metallic they can call you and you’ll search for free! Or like a recent prospect, they were rebuilding the front porch. Before they re-decked, I asked if they would like me to scan under the porch - no charge! “ Free” or “No charge” is always a selling point
I make sure to keep my hands out of my pockets and remove sunglasses. With this wu flu stuff going on I have noticed less people are willing to even answer the door. I now knock and back off. Giving a good 20 feet to the door seems to pay off.

Yes, it creates a buffer and they don't feel as swarmed.. I do that.
One of the best put together videos on door knocking I have found in years
Thank you for the kind words sir
Good video. Today was our first door knocking ever and the second house was the charm. Good tips!

Avoid the fast no.

Thanks

Great tips! I liked the part about the first :30 is the most important. It is! You don't want a "no" right from the start.
Great video with tons of good information..I'm fairly new to the hobby and look forward to some door knocking

Great video Brother, best info is not bombarding the home owner with who ever is with you!
Very nice video . Good job. Thanks for the tips. I still haven’t tried my first but I’m getting close.

Nice video most important on door knocking is being courteous and eye contact while you ask permission on someones land😊
Ever give up! It’s actually pretty fun getting out and meeting new people at every knock. 👍
Thanks for the video. I am new to the sport so I feel quite intimidated by the prospect of knocking on a strangers door. I never really thought about the way I dress since I would be digging in the dirt, but it makes a lot of sense. Thanks 😊

The NC Dirt Detectives I can definitely imagine 😁👍🏻
I love the idea of a business card with ethics listed on it and well worth the cost.
always show the home owner what you found. Great advice for me as a beginner. lol
Great video love the skit at the end very funny lol but I do not have business cards it's good to know how much they help
A lot of great advice. Definitely need to be polite.
Great tips. I wish I had the gift of gab. Lol. I'm going to try it.
I learned to not knock on your door lol. Being polite is key when door knocking an I like the fact of passing out a contact card.

Great video lot of fun Do you have any examples of the cards you use? Keep up the good work.
Yes.. Ill post a pic to our community tab today on my lunch break.. Driving to work.. Thanks
Do you have a sample of the code of ethics you put on the back of your business cards?
Google search. Metal detecting COE
@@adamlmedia I found one and put it on the back of my cards too! Great idea!

You are a dork LOL I like it though :) LOL
hahah... Be yourself. never who others want you to be...
One guy went door knocking and gave some examples. I guess a 50% success rate is pretty typical? :)
Who's this one guy? Lol surprisingly I'd say it's more like 75-80% yes's..
I learned don't walk up with your gear or looking like a googan :p
