I did an unhaul of a bunch of books lately to make space for new books and I realized how much more understanding I have of my taste now versus when I first found the social media bookish community. When I started I grabbed every book that sounded good and that I might like because of fomo, especially books that came from sub boxes. Now I do so much more research and hesitate a lot more before I buying an SE, I definitely stick to fave authors and look for fave tropes. I feel so many of us have gone through similar situations from all the unhauls I’ve seen lately.
The stack collapsing actually made me jump I feel like I’ve come along with you on your journey of hauling on a whim to now ruthlessly curating your shelves and I’m so proud
@gossamerabba I thought the romance was weak and any time she brought up something that may be interesting (like a character traveling to a location to let us see more of the world through their eyes) there was a time skip to arrive them where they needed to be, and the final battle was very disappointing. Overall I feel like for 800? I forget how long it is we see remarkably little of the world even though there are perspectives from different locations.
@encyclopediaofelizabeth Thank you...books are subjective however knowing a bit about what I'm going to get into is helpful. And yes, 800...? Welcome to Chonker-town! 😆
Being ruthless with unhauls feels SO good. I ended up trimming my shelf down to about a quarter of what it used to be. Now I smile every time I see what’s on it ❤️🩹
❤️🩹 I love this & I love your read or unhual series!! This is definitely a goal of mine for the new year! Keep them coming! You are giving me all the motivation!!
we love a ruthless unhaul!! although can't lie, my heart kinda broke over riyria, empire of the vampire, first law and priory hahaha but honestly, I really respect you just embracing the fact that your reading tastes have shifted and you know those books won't bring you joy anymore. I force myself to read things way too often that I deep down know are not fully up my alley (anymore). Here's to being ruthless!! 🥳🥳
I gotta disagree with the "if it's not finished" mentality. You're going to miss out on a lot of great reading that way. And life itself rarely "finishes". It just ends. As long as it's not a cliffhanger, I'm fine. Maybe it comes from reading a lot of serial novels in the past, where certain things are left open, so that things can continue along, but I don't need everything finalized in a book. Just don't end a plot line in the middle to try to force me to get the next book. I've never even seen that work well.
I have had to force myself to read books that have been sitting on my shelf since 2021, I’m happy to see others holding themselves accountable too. It makes me feel better about how I’m trying to tackle my TBR and make room on my shelves ❤
I need to do an unhaul of books. Most of mine are on kindle though, so it's hard. It's a good feeling to make some space though. Shame you didn't enjoy some of the special editions.
Love seeing the ruthless unhaul! I love Abercrombie but I'd agree that I don't think you'd like his writing. Honestly same for Adams, he's very much in the absurd, comedic sci-fi camp.
Awww... you didn't like Leviathan Wakes. It's fine. It took time for me to be immersed with the world and I love the profound stuff it had about humanity and morality.
I read First, Become Ashes last year and you made the *right choice.* I wish I could unread that book, and based off of your videos I think you'd hate it even more than me.
I'm sorry @1:40 this was a little funny. The synopsis says: Kell Kressia is a legend, a celebrity, a hero. At 17, he set out on an epic quest with a band of wizened fighters to slay the Ice Lich and save the world-but only he returned victorious. The Lich was dead, the ice receded, and the Five Kingdoms were safe. Ten years later, Kell lives a quiet farmer’s life, while stories about his heroism are told in every tavern across the land. But now a new terror has arisen in the north Sooooooooo around your age ... I'm confused lol. How funny
I picked up to bleed a crystal bloom yesterday aaaand then i kind of just put it down because, while i have no idea what the romance will actually be, I have an inkling of what it will be and... im not digging it? 😬
Yeah, I've been very slowly reading through Priory. I like it, but I don't tend to read large format books as much. And, the audiobook annoys me. The narrator is only good at one voice. That voice is the most prominent main character, but she can't do other voices effectively. It pulls me out quite a bit. Still, I own the audiobook, so it'll be good to listen to when it snows, or heavily rains.
The Scarlett St Clare book is getting cover changes in January. Not sure if that will make your edition worthwhile to sell. They are getting character art and I'm not a fan.
Wow, unhauling Shaman’s Crossing? Going to have to seriously consider unhauling my subscription. It’s a joke! Don’t come after me Cassidy’s cult members!
@@CoverswithCassidy You're welcome. I couldn't find the heart with a Band-Aid, so I made do with a combined emoji that I hoped would tell the same story.
❤🩹 Such a big unhaul! So much more space for new books though, right? .... right? 👀😂 (I really need to unhaul more books as well. So hard though haha).
i just got together an unhual pile today but i don't know where to donate in my area. the closest goodwill is almost an hour away and i just cant be bother to go very often so they will probably sit next to my bookcase for a few weeks until i make the drive❤🩹

I WAS NOT EXPECTING IT it was so sturdy hahaha, I think a ghost pushed it!
it is crazy to see that change
I love a good unhaul! I feel the same about that I want my bookshelves to be mostly favorite books! ❤️🩹
I kind of love that you get more and more savage throughout the video 🫣
haha it just seemed to happen hahah
I love a good unhauling video- so cathartic
I did my first ever unhaul last month and it felt so good saying good bye to them. I think I’ve got more books ready to unhaul as well
unhauling honestly is so good for the soul
your hair looks so shiny and pretty I love it
I think I just washed it here😂
The catharsis I get from people unhauling Priory of the Orange Tree is so good everytime.
it feels so good to get rid of
...why...? It's on my shelf waiting it's turn.

@gossamerabba Yeah, I've read plenty of chonkera, just couldn't remember or that one was 700+ ot 800+ pages. Hehe

So proud of ruthless Cassidy! 👏🏼❤️🩹
I gave myself a pat on the back ;)
I'm so impressed!! ❤️🩹
I deserve a treat for how hard I went in this
So does this means we're going to get a bookshelf reorganization soon? 👀
I dont know if ive ever done one of those, tbh the shelves may be too empty for this currently
Aw. The Grey Bastards is good. I have enjoyed the first three winners. I'm a bit hesitant about the more recent winners, but I'll read them.

Same here!
THE SHELF FALLING JUMP SCARE I LOOKED DOWN AT THE WRONG MOMENT AND JUMPED
HAHA it got so many ppl
Ooo this is so fun haha. I actually just pulled a bunch of books off my shelf to unhaul and now i feel motivated to film an actual unhaul 👀❤️🩹
it feels so good after its filmed and you put them far away from your shelves
I need a gif of that stack falling on you. Because that sums up my life perfectly of late
HAHAHAH no truly i need that too
I’m so sad we don’t have Pango in Canada. It might motivate me to unhaul more
me too I hope it comes soon
I still have Shadowless on my list, but it's not high up.
I need to do an unhaul of books. Most of mine are on kindle though, so it's hard. It's a good feeling to make some space though. Shame you didn't enjoy some of the special editions.
honestly kindle unhauls are also soooo good for the soul
I also need to do a major Unhaul. I’m a procrastinator and I keep putting it off lol.
Love an unhaul! And you were so brutal 😆
idk what possessed me but I really was brutal
♥️ love a ruthless unhaul!
It's just so good for the soul
Dang I wish I could buy some of those off you 😄 I'm a science-y nerdy sci-fi lover so I'd welcome any in my collection 🤓❤️🩹
pango not existing in Canada truly sucks
@ IKR??!! They need to come here ASAP!!!🫶🍁
Also, you will be so happy that you unhauled Shaman's Crossing. My sister enjoyed the first book, but DNF'd book two. She hated it so much.
ooooooh good to know
Sometimes you just have to be cutthroat. I love watching unhaul videos. There’s something so satisfying about it! ❤️🩹
It really is!
💜💜💜 I cannot find this emoji the struggle is real
Tbh it might not exist I just said something without checking
Rabbits was mentioned in a podcast I used to listed to.
ooooh
I haven't heard anyone, like, ANYONE, talk about Dark Water Daughter since it came out so long ago.
No seriously nothing about it at all
The Black Jewels trilogy is one of my favorites 😭 so sad it was part of the unhaul but completely understand lol
Ruthless and I love it!
it feels nice to be ruthless
Love seeing the ruthless unhaul!
I love Abercrombie but I'd agree that I don't think you'd like his writing. Honestly same for Adams, he's very much in the absurd, comedic sci-fi camp.
yeah I just had a feeling with both of those
Awww... you didn't like Leviathan Wakes. It's fine.
It took time for me to be immersed with the world and I love the profound stuff it had about humanity and morality.
100% I know so many ppl who love it, just wasn't for me
I read First, Become Ashes last year and you made the *right choice.* I wish I could unread that book, and based off of your videos I think you'd hate it even more than me.
Good to know
Did you total up the cost of books you bought and never finished?
Haha no that's nightmare worthy😂
The blood trails is on my Want to read. I don't own it but it looks like a fun read
I hope you like it
❤️🩹 great video!

Sorry I confused you I was just talking about my taste in fantasy more then just this individual book but I see how it is confusing
@CoverswithCassidy no i totally get it i was just looking it up at the moment you said that lmao it tickled me more than anything
11:37 And I jumped like a rabbit at that🥴😄
HAHAHAHAH truly me too
I picked up to bleed a crystal bloom yesterday aaaand then i kind of just put it down because, while i have no idea what the romance will actually be, I have an inkling of what it will be and... im not digging it? 😬
I'd say don't pick it back up 😂

Can you still take the chapters quiz now? Because I think that sounds like a fun thing to do.
I honestly have no idea sorry
@ that’s ok.

Honestly I'm lazy and typically just give everything away😂 I'll probably only sell the two special editions
