Yah buddy! Another Delium convert here. Been rocking them since October (Rugged, re-enforced on WR1’s). Can’t go wrong at $80 Canuck monies. Coming off Maxxis DHF/DHR DD’s. Very comparable. What is your feedback so far?
Wow! What a fun video! Congrats on a great race! Tight as Dick's hat band at the end there tho - LOL That new cam of yours works so great, makes such a rough ride seem like butter :-]
Hope the climbing pace was alright. Definitely should’ve come down behind you instead of waiting. Ended up having to pass 6 people all in. That bike at 8:45 is insane eh!
@dalestone How over forked is this build? I'm running a 180mm Zeb on my range ATM and although it's a bit of a hand full in tight corners it's a weapon on the steep and chunky
At least you got a bit more light than me :p My footage was a bit shaky also because I had to adjust some settings since I forgot my sd card... I was behind you in the lineup of Oilcan and Dreamweaver and you absolutely smashed it. Racing blind was not great :)
By the way, I just read up on Berd string spokes. Wow, very interesting and cool. Looking forward to hearing about your real life experience with them.
So I watched a video on lower crippler (Mt Frome) where a dude has redone some wood work. It’s called the mega Sauris, it doesn’t look too hard although you’ll have to hit it and give us your opinion. I mentioned it to Dave in a comment already have yet to hit Nick but the three amigos should take a trip. Also string spokes are my next we’ll build. On a pinion titanium bike.
Now this is what I call out fer a rip bud. GJ on the #1! The sense of speed on this video was GREAT. Damn does this ever look fast (because it is obvi). Also, the Rivian sound effect at the end- lol.
How is that Suntour suspension coming along? I see more and more of them online. I wonder if Suntour is pouring that marketing money or they do something right.
I'm probably being pretentious, but i feel they really need to redevelop their branding. Their shocks just don't look any where near as nice/cool as the other players. The logo just screams budget to me.
@@HarryCrackz I actually think their gray lowers - black uppers design looks really cool. Brand perception is a problem though, I still associate them with cheap shocks. Maybe they should make a separate brand kinda like Tektro did with TRP.
Wise decision to ride hard to get ahead of the pack for 7th… your 11 seconds gained there was huge. You would have bested stage 2 also if not for the couple of holdups. Stage 3, well, I know that kind of pure speed isn’t really your thing, but you still nearly won it. What was your overall margin of victory? I suspect mid-teens or better. Congrats again!
Congrats, but I still don't understand your distain for Norco?? Why cover their logos when it's the bike you choose to ride? I mean you promote everything else(parts) you ride on.
I think Dale already explained in one of his previous videos before. He works for Norco actually and so he covers the brand so as to separate his private and professional life. He doesn’t want to be seen promoting the brand just because he works for the company. But there is nothing bad about the brand.
@@sampah89 I'd wager it's more to do with the fact he doesn't work for Norco anymore. They laid off a heap of employees, not sure if Dale was included in that. In reference to the tape covering the logo he said he wants to support companies that support him...
you flew like a berd in that race!
😂👉👉
Nothing better than watching Dale shred in a race ! These are my favorite videos of yours.
Haha thanks! I upload them because I enjoy them, they usually underperform. 🙃
Congratulations mate! well done
If there is another UA-camr EWS like there was last year I'd love to see you race it too. You'd smash it 👊
I'm pretty sure there will be no Whistler EWS this year? 🙃
I'm almost the most impressed with that stage 1 tap out.
Twitchy COD4 reflexes finally paying off.
I had to put down my bag of chips to fully appreciate you navigate the straightaway at @11:17. Bravo!
It's so scary with that unnecessary parallel-to-the-trail log. 🪵
@@DaleStone that was the move that made me say 'wow' out loud!
Awsome content! Selling my Sight and upgrading to the Range.
Make sure to buy spare bearings and idlers haha.
Awesome! Congratulations🎉🎉🎉🎉!
Congrats! Couldn't happen to a better dude!
Nice ridin'! Congratulations!
How nice you smashed those sections 🔥
Congrats Dale. I don't think it's the wheels that helped but they're pretty cool.
Haha, thanks Dan!
Congrats, Dale! 😄🎉

XC bike of the day for sure. 🌬️💨💨
"I changed my shocks and wheels close to the race" - Absolute mad man!!!
Not my brightest move but it did pay off! 😅
@dalestone How over forked is this build? I'm running a 180mm Zeb on my range ATM and although it's a bit of a hand full in tight corners it's a weapon on the steep and chunky
180mm, so 10mm over stock. Similar stack to a 200mm dual crown that the racers are running.

Prerides can make or break your result no doubt!
@@DaleStone Haha definitely
I had instant PTSD when I saw yellow on your wheels! I have some bad memories from running Mavic wheels back in the day😎
Haha, no deemax on this channel. 🙈
Impressive ride. Smooth and fast on the descents, but hammered any climbs.
curious if you ride with some sort of power meter. Would be interesting to see what you are cranking out on some of those climbs.
I used to! But I've mellowed out a bit, haha. Peak power I believe was 1200W at 60kg, some of these are definitely north of 800W.
I assume you have the wahoo leds setup to show hr zones. You were really hammering it down. Great run!
Exactly. Red is above 192 I believe... 😅
Are you going to give a review on all the new components? Nice win!! Riding to win is much better than riding for fun! 🤣
Likely yes, and strongly disagree! 😂
Impressive riding.
Congrats on your win! This is such a wonderful experience to “ride shotgun” on your winning race 🤩
Awesome!
Awesome jobs, congrats! Quick questions: How do you like your delium tires? Also why type are they ?(Rugged All Round, Rugged Reinforcement )
I'm using the Rugged Reinforced for both. Only four or five rides in and I'm really liking them!
@@DaleStone awesome, I coudnt find any stores that caried Rugged Reinforced so I ordered Rugged adventure all-around. Hopping for expo+ type tire.
@@sahandsesoot I believe Delium is only direct to consumer, so that makes sense. You'll enjoy them!

So far very interesting, I like!
That second stage was a real grind. Well done, Dale!

Yep, I believe Andy(?) recently commissioned it. Looks amazing so we'll surely be there soon to check it out!
WOW 1st 🤟 That 's in the top 3 and the top 10 💪 Sick wheelset too!
Thats is impressive as always

Thanks mate! Nothing like going full yolo into a network of slippery snakes haha.
R1S with a shore rack would be the DREAM buddy. 👌
@@DaleStone Should be easy with that sweet sweet YT money hahah Who needs to own property when you can have a fancy truck amirite?
Currently I'm on the '96 Trecel with half a million on the odometer salary, but one day...
I was just thinking about some older videos and the heart rate overlay, it's interesting to see it.
The heart rate is on the screen on my bars instead, much easier for my workflow and you still get a glimpse. LED colour is also an indication!
@@DaleStone the XC racing recently has had Wahoo live heart rate, that's new to me 💡
Congrats Dale. I love watching you guys run these fivers. Do you get the purse, or it goes back into the kitty, or what?
Haha no purses here, just the smugness of beating your friends in some casual competition.
You won that race because you are fast as fck boiii 🤘😅😅 I'm glad I didn't blow myself and my bike is still in one piece
Surviving is success in my books.
Nice. Did you and VanCan end up getting sponsored by SR Suntour or something? I noticed he has the same fork on his Chilcotin now.
They sent over suspension for both of us to try, so nothing official!
great riding, are you running full 29er?
I am once again. Fast!
Man! So hard to find good momentum on these trails!
Right? I love that style!
Nice runs. What do you think about that Durolux 38? I just picked up a Durolux 36 myself but haven't had the chance to mount and test it yet.
Still tinkering required for my low weight/style, but generally quite impressive!
How is that Suntour suspension coming along? I see more and more of them online. I wonder if Suntour is pouring that marketing money or they do something right.
Both.
I'm still tinkering around for my weight/style but general first impressions are positive!
I'm probably being pretentious, but i feel they really need to redevelop their branding. Their shocks just don't look any where near as nice/cool as the other players. The logo just screams budget to me.

Maybe i missed it, but what's the deal with the pink frame protection over the norco logos?
I prefer to support brands who have always chosen to support myself, and other creators and athletes!
Great Job lods
"Slow is smooth and smooth is fast"...anyone else say this before they start a trail? I've started to haha
It's mandatory to say it three times per ride here.
love your vids nice win
Nice job! It has to be frustrating getting past the slower riders, right? I mean every second counts on a race that short in duration.
Not at all, it's a $5 race and I'd rather everyone be having fun! 🙂
What if Dangerous Dave beat you by 1 second? Ha ha.
Then absolutely. 😂

I believe it was 18 seconds. Very happy!
Bike is so quiet.. It's unbelievable
Some cable rattle but Onyx hubs go a loooong way!
Wait I missed it. What size are those wheels?
29
Damn, stage 1 could've just been a Super D race on its own!
crazy expensive wheels good....go figure
Shocking revelation haha
when megavalanche ? : )
Ha, maybe one day!
So, what did you win?
A participation chili dog. 😋
Slow is smooth, smooth is....
moderately speedy
This camera is absolutely insane. Literally looks like a drone is flying through the trail when you focus on how smooth it is.
No footage of the afterparty? Sad face.
Gotta disconnect from all of the electronics sometime, other than checking results haha. Steed did a great job though!

@@HarryCrackz I see, thanks for clearing things up! That’s a shame to hear nevertheless :-/
First
Year round loam?
Why would you mention "string spokes" in the thumbnail - but never talk about them or show them in the video ?
Maybe he'll do a video devoted to them. Now he has experience with them, and can talk about his impressions on them.
Showed them in the intro, and mentioned that there would be dedicated videos after more ride time, as Dave said!
How much weight did the bird spokes save
Hard to put a measure to it as my previous wheels didn't share many bits. But light enough to be a noticeable difference!
