France does not have a colony that belongs to them in India at the present time. There were French colonies but now they belong to India and the people speak French there. Likewise you will find some people speaking Portuguese in Goa as Goa was a Portuguese colony.....

yes we use haldi/tumeric in tea for cold or internal issues, and haldi paste for wounds and artheritis.
Indian parts were occupied not only by British but also France, Denmark, Portugal, and Netherlands.... So when they came they settled in Those parts.... And if they settle obviously they will spread there language and culture.... After Independence they were gone.... But the culture and people stays along and that is the result of those French speaking, or other European languages spoken in India. And apart from Muslim Religion all other religions have kick started in India. Muslims came from Persia and Turks to India during there time in India.
