This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Day 1 I was going to pressure cook a meat ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and potato stew, decided I wouldn't eat it that night so I went with a slow cook so I could go to bed and put it away in the morning. I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus - you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!
This is my go-to chicken and broccoli! I moved from NY to FL and let me tell you, I miss that NY Chinese food!! I’ve made this recipe at least a dozen times already. My family and I love it!! I’ve even followed this same recipe with beef instead of chicken when I feel like changing it up and it was just as delicious! Thank you for blessing us with this recipe!!!! 🤤
This was beyond restaurant quality Chinese Broccoli Chicken and Broccoli was crisp tender not soggy !!! Served it over white rice and we were shaking our heads the whole meal !! Will add this to monthly rotation !!!
I made this recipe with chicken thighs, added mushrooms after sautéing in garlic plus cashews and green onions before serving. Absolutely delicious sauce! Wonderful tender chicken and perfect broccoli! My four neighbours loved it also! Thank you for a wonderful recipe, and delightful presentation! Well done!
I just made this tonite-- subsituted in boneless Chicken Thighs-- and it was the BEST Chinese dish I've ever made. You, sir, have cracked the "code" to brown sauce! EXCELLENT! Congratulations!
Made this today. WOW. Better than restaurant. First time in my entire life I make great Chinese food, thanks to Jeffrey ~ my teen verified this as she downed a huge serving of this over steamed rice. No changes necessary ~ flavor dead on, only added water chestnuts. Made your egg drop soup yesterday and that was a total hit. It's gone. LOVE being able to cook 5-Star food in my Instant Pot.
I would recommend coating your meats in cornstarch like the Chinese do when stir frying. It protects the meat from the high heat and keeps it more tender and flavorful.
I made this for my family tonight, and we loved it. I couldn’t find any rice wine, so I left it out completely and we didn’t notice. We served it over basmati rice, and everyone said it tasted like ‘real Chinese food’. Thank you Jeff!
Jeffrey, we had this for supper tonight. Followed your exact recipe and served it over rice. It was FANTASTIC!! Best ever! Thank you so much! This also our first attempt with our new Instant Pot. Your instructions were great. We can't wait to try some of your other recipes. Keep on being your entertaining self. I'm not a big fan of cooking, but you make it so fun I may start doing it more. Thanks again.
Made this recipe today and it was so delicious. Followed the recipe accordingly but added carrots and mushrooms also. Served this over rice noodles. Will definitely make again. Thank you for your videos. It makes using the Insta pot much easier. Keep up the cooking fun.
I love that this shows how to make a flavorful Chinese-American sauce for pretty much any dish. New fan, love your videos, they're wonderfully detailed, great shots of the cooking process, a bit of landsman humor, no filler (I don't need to see the actually process of cutting stuff up), etc. Perfect!
Loved the recipe, and it turned out great for me! I would like to suggest one alternative. If you are like me, and like your vegetables crunchier, then skip the microwave part and just dump the broccoli in after the corn starch slurry. Stir it into the mix on medium saute, then simmer with the lid on for about a minute or two. The broccoli will be nice and crunchy but cooked.
I make this recipe often!! I moved from NY to FL and the Chinese food here does not compare to NYC. This recipe is the closest that I’ve ever gotten to NYC Chinese food. Thanks for sharing it!!! 🤤
OMG! You popped up in my feed 3 days ago and this video totally grabbed me! (NYC Jewish boy as well, Chinese food is in our DNA), so I tried to make it like you did last night and it came out PERFECT! I now have a favorite UA-cam person/channel! Thank you so much!!!!
I was craving chicken and broccoli so I found your recipe and it was delish. I made the recipe as is except I added matchstick carrots and frozen fajitas chicken strips and doubled the ingredients. Even my son loved it. Will make again.
Jeffrey, I really love your recipes! The only thing that disappoints me is that you haven't come out with a new cookbook in a while. And I'll love to try your new recipes. Cause they're always fantastic!
This is our second time doing this recipe. Jeffrey - you're a star! I believe there is good and justice in the world and you should be rewarded for your talents. All of your UA-cam fans can say - "we knew you when."
This has already become a family favorite, thank you for your 'sauce' and style. I would say- get all ingredients completely ready before you start to cook (broccoli and sauce and rice)- everything moved a little quickly for me once cooking.
Thank you for this recipe. I made it last night and was very tasty. If I make it again I would make a few changes to suit my tastes though. First, I would double the minced garlic. Cut the beef broth to 1/2 cup or eliminate completely and just use 1/2 water. The broth made it soupy even with the slurry and overwhelmed the flavor of the sauces. I like my sauce thick. I also would add a bit of white pepper. Lastly, I would eliminate the instant pot. It really didn't serve a purpose other than a stirring bowl. The chicken and onions could be cooked on the stovetop just as fast. No wok needed since the veggies are steamed in the microwave.
Your videos are great to watch but your recipe site is totally amazing with the pictures of all the steps and then the written recipe you are the total package
I made this dish tonight for supper and it is scrumptious! Just make sure you have everything chopped, measured and ready to go because this recipe goes fast. I will make this again for sure! I will try it with beef next time.
I just got an instant pot a couple weeks ago and tried your pot roast and pancetta pasta and both were absolutely delish!!! I am going to try this!!!! Love your videos!!!
In the old days, I had a pressure cooker. No timer, dials or cords. It went on the stove. It had a little weight on the top when it was cooking-it went ffft ffft . :-) You did an instant cooling by putting it in the sink and running a slow stream of cold water on it. I now have a three quart instant pot. We’ve made some of your recipes which have all turned out absolutely scrumptious. We’ve made the Chicken and Broccoli (twice!), Moo Shu Pork, Ratatouille, (my favourite!) Of course we had to adjust it down a bit because of the three quart thing, but they’ve all worked to perfection. Thanks!
Made this tonight for dinner. Really good! Loved the broccoli done like that in the microwave, perfectly crunchy. I also did a pot in pot and cooked Jasmine rice at the same time as the chicken. This is going in our dinner rotation. Thanks again for another good dinner idea in the instant pot! 🤗
I make this for dinner over and over again and it’s literally fool proof! Have everyone going for seconds!!! Love this! Thank you again for uploading!!!
You can peel the broccoli stems and slice them into circles. When cooked they have the crunch water chestnuts and are a nice addition to many recipes. I bet they would be great added to the chicken in the instant pot!
Yum! Mee!!! I made this last night and it is fabulous! Moved from NYC to a Seattle suburb and it is so hard to find good Chinese here. I made it with think sliced carrots too. Thank you so much!
My family had a 5 star meal tonight using this recipe, I cant wait to use them all. Plenty of left overs, minimal cleaning afterwords. I'm looking like a hero in the kitchen and the wife is taking a nice break. I've been at it a week straight because it's addictive and the meals are so delicious, although she cooks well she may never return to the kitchen LoL.
Just bought an instant pot and this was my first recipe. Aside from freaking out about the steam valve that was just doing its thing, this recipe was easy as ever. The meal turned out delicious!! 😋
Just made this and WOW! It's perfect. I used thighs instead cause it's what I had on hand and I cooked Jasmine rice on the stove to spoon this on top. I can't believe I made one of my favorite Chinese dishes at home. Broccoli was perfect steamed in microwave. Thank you
I made this recipe for dinner this evening. I got all of the ingredients except for the rice wine. I couldn't find that to save my life. Also, I bought sesame oil. But once I was home, I realized I got SPICY sesame oil. #Fail I decided to omit it. It came out amazing!! My boyfriend & daughter didn't care too much for the sauce though they did say it was good. A little too thick and sweet for them. I thought it was great but personally I won't add 2 tablespoons of corn starch. It was pretty thick. Overall, a very good recipe. Thank you for sharing!!
Made this dish tonite and it was absolutely delicious!. Better then most oriental places as it is not greasy or overly salty. This is a keeper and will be making again. When I served it I added Chinese Five Spice seasoning. Thanks for this video.
Chef Jeff!!!.. I finally got a Instant Pot. I can’t wait to try your wonderful recipes. I have been using all your recipes on my stove top 👍🏻. I have to-say that your seasonings are spot on!! Thank you ❤️
Stumbled upon this recipe by accident yesterday. It tasted great - so I decided to do it all over again today. Thanks for posting, I am now subscribing to this channel. L'Chaim!
I just made this following your recipe. Turned out fantastic! Family loves it, taste just like it came out of a restaurant, thanks, will be cooking this again!
A nice Jewish boy from Long Island loving Chinese food. My family's basically Irish, BUT we'd eat at The Spaghetti Factory for St Pat's Day. We'd bring green food coloring for our carafe of Chablis. You wouldn't believe how many other Irish last names were called when their tables were ready.
broccoli stalks are the best for fry rice. Peel the skin off and cut them into small pieces of size of peanuts. Stir fry them with oil and a little bit of salt, then add a few raw eggs. when the egg is about 80% done, add steamed rice.
I just cooked this, and I'm eating it right now! It is amazing!!! I served it over brown rice. I do agree with his broccoli cooking. Mine sat in the microwave too long after cooking, and when I stirred it in with the chicken, it dissolved into mush. But it's still tasty. I'll watch the broccoli better next time. So delicious!
Made it tonight it was amazing🎉 It was a little sweet ( my son doesn’t like sweet food ) I use sherry wine and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar I’ll probably cut out the brown sugar next time see what happens The chicken was tender it was not heavily salted it was really Amazing❤
Jeff, I love your videos. They are so handy. I come home from work and put on one of your videos to cook our dinner in no time. I made Italian sausage with pasta, chicken, beef stew, meatballs and other. I use instant pot a lot and I love it. Now I'm thinking of getting a bigger one (mine is only 3qts) so I can make meals for couple of days, or cook soups. Thank you and keep on cooking 😄👍
Most of Jeff's recipes are absolutely fantastic and company worthy. I just felt this recipe, though good, lacked Jeff's usual "wow" this recipe is a to die for quality. I just can't figure out what seems to be missing.
Congratulations...🎈 Mr. Pressure Luck Cooking Master. This was my first meal using the new Gourmia ExpressPot. It turned out yummy and my husband is licking his chops! Your pace was fantastic and easy to follow. Thank you 🙏🏻 from Oceanside California. Take good care.😋
This is a great recipe. You haven't disappointed me yet. I might throw in a few red pepper flakes in there and serve over the brown rice I learned to make from YOU! The best Instant Pot channel ever. The mouth noises don't bother me at all. I would be doing the same thing!
Another thing you can do with the remaining broccoli stalk is to save it with other vegetable bits chopped off in prep to make a stock. You can also peel away the tough fibrous outer skin to reveal tender broccoli chunks you can add to the dish (more broccoli! Hurray!). Asparagus is the same way. I save the chunks to steam up and have over rice with soy sauce for a quick snack. Great recipe. It would be nearly impossible to tell it wasn't stir-fried. Now you just need about a half-cup of sticky rice under it.
Made this in my new pressure cooker. At time I thought it was so bland, but then the leftovers 2 days later were amazing! I think the main culprit was the hoisin sauce I got was a brand I'd never used and I wasn't impressed by the colour of it. But as I say... day 2 made me want to make it again.
Jeff, that is almost exactly (without the wine) the recipe I use to make my beef and broccoli. It is AMAZING! The next time I make it, I'm going to add some good wine. Thanks for making these videos! Take care!
Keep the broccoli stalks in your feeezer along with other veggie scraps and when you have enough make your own homemade veggie or chicken stock. Can do this in small batches in the IP quickly.
Wow I made this tonight and my husband raved about it! Only thing I added was carrot. Thank you for the hint to microwave the broccoli I was wondering how not to make it mushy. I had all the ingredients !! This sauce is awesome I will be using it for other chinese dishes thanks💋🥦

Yes its 5 star and he needs to get a cookbook in print.
Was it good ?? I mean you did it step by step ...

Great recipie, I recommend try adding 2 tbsp of fresh minced ginger same time you add the garlic... i love this recipe

One of my kids’ favorite instant pot recipes!

First time viewer...can't wait to try this chicken and broccoli recipe. As soon as I get brave enough to take my instant pot out of the box!
Made this dish tonite and it was absolutely delicious!. Better then most oriental places as it is not greasy or overly salty. This is a keeper and will be making again. When I served it I added Chinese Five Spice seasoning. Thanks for this video.

I literally just made this and it was superb! Thank you for an amazing and quick go to recipe, I can’t wait to show this one off!!
love this guy!!!! lol I use my Instant pot so much because of his videos. makes it easy when you have 3 mouths to feed. thanks for your videos bud!
I love the little laugh he gives when he first tastes the dish.
I just made this following your recipe. Turned out fantastic! Family loves it, taste just like it came out of a restaurant, thanks, will be cooking this again!
Made this yesterday and it was a big hit. Prep took me a while, but the result was top notch. Your videos are all well done. Thanks
I love your recipes and instructional videos! Keep them coming! 😘

yumm, delicious on the jasmine rice🤤😋
I just made this tonight. It is better than the Chinese restaurant. Absolutely delicious!!!

I keep coming back for this recipe! It’s a favourite in my house now 😍 also the beef broccoli!

I am enjoying watching learning , And eating your great meals thank you.
I eat the broccoli stems as well, just peel the outer layer and slice them up and cook with your florets No waste!
Why do you peel the stems?
You’re absolutely hilarious !! Just found your channel and I love your energy and recipes!
Looks delicious!
Excellent Jeff! Easy to make and nutricious. You are really a pleasure to learn from!
I just love your energy, and recipes!

You need the 6 quart. I have a 6 and 3 quart and the 3 is a little small for some recipes and you never want to over fill a pressure cooker.
Thank you for the great recipe. It was delicious.
I have not tried anything that I haven’t enjoyed this hit my picky eaters right on
They loved it
Wow I just tried this and it turned out sooooo amazing!! Thank you!!! 🤗
Most of Jeff's recipes are absolutely fantastic and company worthy. I just felt this recipe, though good, lacked Jeff's usual "wow" this recipe is a to die for quality. I just can't figure out what seems to be missing.
try a little bit of sauteed ginger
Congratulations...🎈 Mr. Pressure Luck Cooking Master. This was my first meal using the new Gourmia ExpressPot. It turned out yummy and my husband is licking his chops! Your pace was fantastic and easy to follow. Thank you 🙏🏻 from Oceanside California. Take good care.😋
Adorable!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR ACCENT!!! Long Island!!!
My favorite is Pizza & then Chinese yummm!!!
I love Chinese-American food and this Chicken Broccoli looks delicious.
Just finished this up and it SMELLS and tastes AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!! 😍😍
Awesome sauce! Once again you succeeded in making me hungry!!!
I made this in my pressure cooker tonight for my family. It was delicious. Thank you so much!
This will be another recipe of yours I try. If anyone sees this, definitely try his Beef Stroganoff recipe! The best you’ll ever have!!! 😊
steve20110 How do I find his recipe for beef stroganoff?
Great delicious recipes 😁😍💖😋, but it best serve with white rice, it teste great 😋, thanks for you video👍
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 😄😀😎
Just made this👩🍳 so fast! (Semi) healthy! And so DELICIOUSSSSS 🥘🥣 Thanks Jeff!
After your video I felt compelled to make my own videos!
Btw my favorite too! Great job!
Who is this guy?? I can’t believe I haven’t seen him before. One video in and I’m a new subscriber!! 👍🏼
He has a great personality.
He has some great recipes! I have tried a few of them...
clevergirl28 I’ve tried a lot of his recipes now and even bought his book. Super pleased!
Jeff, that is almost exactly (without the wine) the recipe I use to make my beef and broccoli. It is AMAZING! The next time I make it, I'm going to add some good wine. Thanks for making these videos! Take care!
Next time you are in Sunnyside try Mr Wonton on Queens Blvd between 44th and 45th streets. Their steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings are awesome.
Keep the broccoli stalks in your feeezer along with other veggie scraps and when you have enough make your own homemade veggie or chicken stock. Can do this in small batches in the IP quickly.
Chicken and Broccoli is my Fave, and I have been thinking of getting an instant pot, I am now sold on the idea. =)
Jeff,
I would have added mushrooms. To the IP.... With the chicken!!!
I added shitakes. It was awesome.
Wow I made this tonight and my husband raved about it! Only thing I added was carrot. Thank you for the hint to microwave the broccoli I was wondering how not to make it mushy. I had all the ingredients !! This sauce is awesome I will be using it for other chinese dishes thanks💋🥦
Thanks for the great recipes
I tried this to tonight and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever cooked
Thanks for the recipe it came out perfect, I also added ginger
