- Los Angeles City Councilman Tim McOsker hopes to drum up support for his motion aimed at fixing what he calls a flawed code enforcement system after watching a Fairfax home stuffed with trash get cleaned up on Thursday.
Clean the city too…not just one dirty homeowners home.
Can clean up a homeowners crap. But can't clean the homeless crap up.
Cant clean their own🍑🤣
It’s obvious why those two scenarios are different. If you don’t get it, sit down and think about it for a second.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Homeless in La don’t want help , they just want more stuff for there “needs”
The LA city council members should get out more often, they obviously can’t see real-world problems from their palace.
Quick action after a decade of incompetence.
The only way to get anything done is to call the local news. Calling the city, they will just ignore it.
The fact that those reports were "closed" is BIG problem.
Yes, these has to be an electronic trail as to who closed these cases and hold them accountable.
They showed one under investigation, the following are closed automatically since they are duplicates. they need to update it cause it looks bad
Of course, politicians are all about action once all the cameras are rolling. She could have sent a team as soon as she learned about it.
Start with the junk filled streets
What about the STREETS
Are these homeowners being charged ? I hope so , if they want to live like a homeless then they can go join them on the streets of LA … Stop making your neighbors lives miserable! It shocks me how folks can live like this !
Soon as I read the headlines my first thought was there making news headlines about someone home junked up but the homeless encampments are not even addressed
Then why don't you get off your lazy ass and go do something about it yourself?
I guess you live in the wring neighborhood. They have cleaned up mine
There’s more filth in the city council than any backyard in the county
Now all the rats are running all over the neighborhood!!
Heres the thing, that has been going on for a long time. They put that in the backburner, and that's what they get for their inability to act.
Just allow city workers to go in and clean it every 6 months. Period.
Why should it be clean up for them ? Why should the taxpayers pay for that?
Thats a nice neighborhood too... No excuse for that.
Anyone that has used a sidewalk in LA is wondering why they don’t clean that first 😂😂😂
A family member had their home this way and it was frustrating. It truly is a mental illness and the city of Los Angeles will pay a lot in restitution for these actions. Said family member passed away from a structure fire and it was sad. The city needs to approach this as a mental health issue and not the way they are saying it. Trust me……my family member would get paid out from city mistakes and then gather more.
How about “junk filled city should be turned around for over taxed residents”? Of course not.
If only they would do that for the homeless? Talking about a mess.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Speaking of fifth and junk why don't they start at city hall.
whats inside the house look like?
It is the gov fault allowing this hoarding to get out of hand. Hoarding is not what the president , or other politicians were doing with gov documents, to protect themselves in their presidential actions if future issues come up, like people keep work records, or mementos, hoarding is keeping items of no real value or items you will never use or cannot complete future projects. In this case, lazy mental case man risks his property. The expense of this kind of huge clean up is the fault of city. People pay tax for reasonable clean properties around them and have suffered more than that man. On the other hand, forcing this man in this way without giving him time to take action or let help in is violating his rights. A fair process needs to be followed. There should be a program that sick or elderly can call to move their items around, or get help cleaning up maybe ihhs, before it gets bad. I think moving to self recycle is the answer too. A new gadget is around to shred paper into small dots, to use for homemade stationary or many uses,a small home composter is out there to recycle food scraps. Eliminates I/2trash there. Seniors could get those free from city ,maybe cost 500 as a pilot program. Can bring their leftover clean paper and soil they made can give out to their friends, start small veg garden clubs.when our food stops ,everyone with a house, should get a tax discount to maintain food garden and seed banks. may actually need the extra food soon.
If all the mental health facilities hadn't been closed or underfunded, if mental health services were more widely available and less expensive, if older people weren't so isolated and reviled, if, if ,if, if. Hoarders are usually older citizens that have serious issues they're grappling with, not always, but more often than not. The worst thing these politicians could do is increase the tragedy of these situations to criminality. It's a real catastrophe for the hoarder and the community.
ONLY A PRIEST CAN HANDLE THIS ONE
The fault lies onto the LA City Council. They FAILED in their job BIG TIME.
Public works needs to make it easier for folks to get excess stuff out of their homes as a beginning. There was a day when you could get stuff picked up ( all type of things) and then it would be hauled off to the dumps. In some cities, you now have to make an appointment and leave stuff on the streets or pay someone to move it. So many plans and studies on enviornmental waste, but it seems like few programs flexible enough to handle the pickup in neighborhoods and the city.
Many cities in California have free pickup for many household items . Largest pile free pickup about a few pickup trucks . Request unlimited to schedule.
Never going to stop with this mayor. She creates trash so she can clean it, we’re tired of her
The Councilperson is frustrated? How about the homeowners that live next to this trash heap. Do something! 😊
Gov doesn't care bout us
Interesting. We had a neighbor who seemed to think if he just covered his junked yard up with those hideous blue tarps, none of us neighbors would mind the hoard. Luckily I guess he was OCD too, because the junk was always moved around. Not cleaned up mind you, just moved from place to place on his corner. There is no cure for these type people.
Cult Behavior. The gang? That's what we poor humble folk call THE COLLECTIVE, THE CULT.
She said that yesterday nothing has happened yet
Yes, it is a mental illness but why do neighbors have to suffer too? This should never be allowed, it’s a health hazard first of all and just downright blight!
The idea of spending on shelters and free derrick homes instead of outdoor rest stops sprinkled around cities like Europe is wrong. With showers, and laundry areas. Inforcing filth instead of people. Cite for trash throwing 500 bucks or pick up trash hours of 2 days. Bring pieces to count or hours of someone has no money. Or counciling requirement how not to throw garbage and stay neat and clean help. No one would would pick on persons without homes if they were kept better a homeless resume and their locations can be posted on a site so potential employers and helpers can read their stories and help direct the ones that they want to help. All the charities are making things worse by hoarding resources and donated charity should go direct more to those who need and want help now.
You give people an inch, they ask for a mile! Just kidding, this should never have happened in the first place.
Wow, you can clean that in one day when pressure is applied. looks like they dont move unless it makes them look bad. They still need to clear out the homeless mess on Imperial highway from wilminton to central.
Why clean it up it's LA Baby.
“yes, you and your complaint is very important to us - “now, please step aside for six or seven ot or eight years while i deal with another matter (which is also very important ).
Call Fairfax and ask them how they did it. Seems to me every town every city every county should have anonymous reporting, followed by an immediate requirement to have code enforcement investigate, you get 1 warning, 1 citation then the municipalty cleans it up sends you a bill and bakes the home winer get a pysch exam followed by treatment.
Trash on your property its a problem, trash in public streets not a problem.
Wait, is that green grass under them "heaps of garbage"?
''Quick action'' 😂 it's been years
It’s hilarious the councilwoman is frustrated when she’s the enabler of all of this.
No accountability and victim mentality is what D crats stand for. Being “polite” is what is most important.
There there it’s not your fault. We will clean this up for you. You don’t have to pay any fines. We hope you get better and we hope you can keep the place more tidy.
Who pays for the cleaning?
officials will gladly take on these easy cases versus California's bigger issues just to get that "w" under them.
you guys are never happy lol. damned if you do, damned if you dont
@@taxfree4603 the 80's and 90's kicked ass then came along the 2000's and everything went to complete shit
Fine them. And continue to just throw stuff away and fine them. Then eventually they sell their homes, move away, or stop. It's your job to be the adult in the room and tell children what to do.
What's wrong with ppl🤢🤮 make your look nice. The weather in LA is beautiful and why not keep it nice.
Only reason this house was cleaned was because of the million dollar homes next to it. How about going to East LA, South Central, Watts, or DTLA?
Congratulations, your station is doing good by reporting the garbage house issue. Now..think of other ways you can use your power for good throughout CA!
Watts ! Up
Not San Pedro!
What is so hard about taking your trash out on Wednesday
Freak boy is a hoarder. They're sick
That guy collects more trash at a faster pace than city pickup could handle
He loves trash, so it's pretty damned hard.
“there is nothing we can do” make your own interpretation & reach your own conclusion out of all this 💰😵😵💫
OK, so LA is taking baby steps?
No comms
Clean skid row
Must be an election coming up. 😂😂😂
We have to address the mental health issues behind hoarding. And that includes billionaires who hoard money.
Billionaires who hoard money are breaking no laws and growing no rats
I don't think you understand how money works. Do you think billionaires have a vault full of billions like Scrooge McDuck? Because that was a cartoon...
You are all twisted up @liberty
Show your dad had a business for 40 years then you inherit that business then all the homeless people move in on the street what the hell councilman mayor Alderman what are you going to do
So tgey can fine homeowners and send crews to clean it up but they can't clean all the trash, feces, poo, and pee on the sidewalks from all the homeless.
What a waste of time they gonna keep trashing the place How about fines?!
Exactly! It start up again….
@@elainevankat5353 we are Doomed!
Rat town
The city needs to clean them up, and then foreclose on the properties if the owners don't pay the city for the cleanup. Enough with getting the crazies the "help they need."
FIND THE EMPLOYEES WHO KEEP STAMPING THE CLOSED ON THE CASES, AND have them ARRESTED!
Lol get over it
Just face it. Karen Bass is a puppet. Higher value properties get more done
Tell Gavin and Nancy to clean it up. It’s their fault
