    Good honest review. I loved mine, had the mk2/revised one with the porch separate to the door. Great, until it rains. Because the porch/canopy is separate from the door, it has it's own toggles for when you want to roll it up to stop it flapping about. The problem is, the rain will seep through the top of the toggle, behind the sewn material and out the other side. This then spread to the other door toggles and straps and eventually will end up dripping inside your bivvy unless you have the doors done up. Nash have denied there's an issue but my father-in-law had the exact same one as me, bought from different shops several months apart and it did the exact same thing. He also had the same issue with the front left top pole as you look whereby it wouldn't click into place so may have been a quality issue from that particular batch. I'd like to believe that's what it was as otherwise it was/is a brilliant bivvy.

      Cheers m8. That’s good info for anyone who is looking at the Mk2. Its really weird the rain thing uh? It’s like they’ve never tested them in the rain, or haven’t taken it into account full stop. Strange considering how much work has obviously gone into the other bivvies in the range.

      @@TheAnglr you’re welcome. It is strange but I guess that they do testing mainly in the most extreme circumstances, so loads of water, strong wind machines etc. with the thinking that if they can withstand that, anything less will be fine as well. Like yourself, I like my door open or at least with the mozzy mesh up which is how both mine, and my father in laws were at the time. I’ve looked back at the video clips and pictures hoping to be wrong but I’m as sure as I can be that the conclusion we came to is the correct one. Had we both had our doors closed, we’d possibly have never have known and I guess it’s important to highlight that part. When the water was dripping in the rain had stopped and it was what had been absorbed that was now coming in, not the live rain. I have contacted Nash asking if the toggle issue had been rectified but they claim there is no such issue unfortunately. I’ve offered to speak to them, supply pics and clips to help them ( I’ve never once complained about it and I’m not looking to, just want to help) but it seems they don’t want to know which is a real shame as I’d love to get the pro model that is due for release.

    Great review. However a bivvy that wont keep out the rain is a big issue. Im getting older and like you need a tall tent.....lets see what nash do next

      @@TheAnglr, my honest opinion on the blockhouse! What an absolute piece of craftsmanship. Wow I am over the moon with it. So easy to put up takes minutes and the space inside is incredible. So glad I have one now I wouldn't go back to any other bivvy after this one. Cheers for helping meake the decision to buy one. 👍🏻👊🏻👏🏻

    Enjoyed your review mate. Keep doing them!
    I do have a question for you: I have a titan t2 pro camo and I understand that Nash state you can sort of attach a titan to one of the open sides so it makes a kind of bolt on social room. T2 pros are quite big at the front but it looks like it would work. What’s your thoughts?

    • @TheAnglr
      @TheAnglr  6 місяців тому

      To the blockhouse? …. If so that wouldn’t work because of the way the side windows are. (Don’t quote me, but that my best guess) I know Nash sell a special ‘social room’ that you can buy that specially designed for that purpose your describing. If you wanna give me a follow on FB and when you see me on the bank next week send me a message and I’ll take a video to show you why I don’t think it’ll work. That help?

    Hello,
    Does the groundsheet completely closes the bivvy? I ask it, because there are many ants in my fishing spot, and I always have problems with them. The zipperd groundsheets are not enaugh good, because they find the holes, where the zipper connect, and the just come on those holes. Thats why a perfect closure would be important for me.
    Thank you!

    great review, i am looking for a 2 man bivvy to take one of my daughters fishing with me as we struggled to fit in my titan T1, I think this will be perfect and if it rains we will just zip up as we would anyway with any bivvy. Keep up the good reviews

      Can I ask, does your daughter sleep on a bedchair too? I have a wideboy and and compact sized bedchair for my son. Looks like the floor plan would be plenty big enough to still have a small
      Gap between us.

      @@NEbes0310 When I go with my Daughter she uses my old Bedchair…. So with me in an Avid Benchmark wide and her in a Trakker ELS I don’t think there would be room for another Bedchair (Think!)…. There ‘might’ be enough room for One adult and two compact size bedchairs. There would deffo be enough for one adult and two sleeping bags or blow up mattresses…. Does that help?

    Great vid! Definitely getting one but the rain thing is a downer, would you recommend this NASH - BANK LIFE MULTI TARP and If so XL or Standard ? Wonder if the fox tarp might be a good fit 430x345x200cm

    • @TheAnglr
      @TheAnglr  10 місяців тому

      Hey m8… yea it’s a shame. They released a pro version a few days ago and I was like ‘Yes! They fixed it’ … but No, still the same. I can only guess they haven’t tested it in the rain ?!?!
      Tarp wise I use an Amazon bought one that I recommend. It was 45 quid but I believe it’s on offer at the moment. I don’t think I can put links here but search Amazon for ‘V VONTOX Tent Tarp Waterproof - Rain Tent Tarp Light Ripstop Fabric-10X10 Ft’ and it should be top one. It’s 3x3m and is adequate room. I’ve also got a ‘Unigear Hammock Rain Fly Tent Tarp 300cm x 300/400/500cm’ in 3x4m if I want a bit more room. Both of these are good quality… dunno what the Fishing companies are charging for Tarps but some of the best tarps in the world used by pro climbers etc are around a £100 for 3x3 max just to give you a price reference..
      If you want to give us a shout on Facebook I can send you links direct..

    How do they stand up to big winds

    • @TheAnglr
      @TheAnglr  11 місяців тому

      As I said in the review, OK. But obviously not as good as some. I’ve been in some pretty horrendous weather, one very bad storm and it struggled a bit but ultimately survived with only a little minor damage. It has 4 extra guide points and cord attached that you can set if it’s gonna be a bit tasty..

    • @TheAnglr
      @TheAnglr  11 місяців тому

      I guess the best way I can say it is, if you’re gonna be in bad weather constantly then I’d go for a more streamlined design, if you just want to know if you’ll survive a random storm then I would think so (as long as you use the extra guide ropes attached) hope that helps!
