As of right now, when I'm writing this comment, TF2 is number 7 on steam for most players in game. Considering that this game came out in 2007 it's mind-boggling to me how it has more players in game than Apex, COD Warzone, Rainbow Six Siege, FIFA 23 This could be attributed to the fact that some players may be running the latter mentioned games on other platforms, and TF2's numbers of 105k players might be a little bit inflated due to the botting issue. I love how Red Spy finishes Blue Spy's sentence when he reveals himself. Blue Spy: He could be you, he could be me, he could be... Red Spy: Right behind you!
I do wish these were in chronological order cause some of the later ones are so much more elaborate and they led with a bunch of those like Meet the Pyro (the last one)
The UA-camr LazyPurple has a ongoing series on how it feels to play each class, and they're all good watches, if y'all are looking for more tf2 content.
7:55 THAT was until Medic found a way to Outsmart Bullets Additional fact: The reason why there is only a "Meet the Red Team" videos is because the director who made the interview with red team was killed by the Administrator's secretary (Ms. Pauling) before getting the chance to speak with Blu Team. It's a fact inside the official TF2 comics.
These shorts are some of the best promotional material made for any media in existence. The game itself is wacky, raging fun too, if you've ever played Overwatch this is the game that took most of it's inspiration from. It's free to play on Steam and is still VERY active, it's got quite a high learning curve but is absolutely worth playing for ANYONE who owns a PC. It's official phrase is "The most fun you can have online" and as someone with nearly 3,000 hours in the game, this very much holds true today!
Aww, they used the "meet them all" reupload. It's generally better to see them in release order via the official playlist because of the way the tone shifts from interviews to movies and then Pyro comes last and brings it full circle.
The comics are also an absolute delight, highly recommend watching the dubbed series on UA-cam. Look forward to hopefully see you guys give the game a go aswell it still is a genre defining game
Meet the Scout: When he says "I hurt people" He taps the camera lens. The rest of the interview bits there's a fingerprint smudge on the lens. Meet the Soldier: He's mainly insane, but the trailer does show off he can rocket jump. Meaning he literally propels himself through the air via explosion Meet the Pyro: We're not even sure Pyro's a man, or human.... Meet the Demo: The bleeping wasn't excessive swearing, it was classified info being suppressed. He said 'more feckin sea monsters in the great loch ness' Meet the Heavy: Bear in mind...$400k in the late 60s.... Meet the Engineer: 11 phds, and probably the smartest member of the team, or at least tied with Medic Meet the Medic: Medic made a deal with the devil, and now his medical prowess is from a loose 'belief it will work' case. Like one time he scraped blood off the ground into a bucket and poured it in an open wound to put it back in someone. Also, in game any time a scout is blown apart by explosives, there's a 1% chance a dove will fly away from the gibs Meet the Sniper: He's actually from New Zealand....which in the TF2 universe is kind of a joking play on both Atlantis and Krypton. No he doesn't have superpowers, but his real name is Mun-Dee. Meet the Spy: Probably the best yo mama comeback of all time. Also, that cut on sniper's cheek got incorporated into his game model as a scar after this short released. Meet the Sandvich: Originally was infinite use, but healed 120hp out of 300. bumped up to 300hp. Then given power to be thrown and used as a medium health kit(50% max hp heal). Then throwing nerfed so heavy couldn't use his own sandvich as a thrown pickup. Then given a 30 second cooldown if it healed any hp, but no cooldown if it did not heal hp (if heavy was at max hp and used it normally, he'd still play the animation and take a bite, but it wouldn't use it up and start the cooldown timer) there's more official skits to watch. Biggest one being 'Expiration Date'
Also notable is that the Heavy is surprisingly high up in terms of education compared to the rest of these maniacs, with a phd in Russian literature. He also has a great deal of respect for the Medic, seeing as Medic was the first man he met who could, in fact, outsmart a bullet.
To be fair, Medic filtered that blood through his underpants before pouring it back into everyone. (Multiple people, too. What even _is_ a blood type, really.)
Fun fact: TF2 lore, it's canon that everyone did rocket jumping to move between floors, until Abe Lincoln invented stairs That universe is so batshit insane
the amount of times i’ve seen the meet the team videos is staggeringly high. i grew up on those trailers and i’ll forever hold them as the best trailers ever made. they’re truly perfect and couldn’t have been made any better.
So the Sandvich was one of the first items that was really different from their normal kit. I believe it replaced the Heavy Weapons Guy's shotgun with a sandwich so he could heal himself instead of needing a medic all the time. They started getting wild after that. But because the Sandvich was featured in a few other videos when they added it to the game it got its own Meet The video.
Ubercharge is the bread and butter of a medic. Also, in reference to 13:34 Archimedes has a chance of spawning when a scout is blown up in game. Yes, the game is very active and free. The bots keep trying to to stop us, but we will live forever! edit: spy is hard to master. You will die a lot.
Guys. The community of this game is so creative. If you enjoyed this official animation, you will love what other people cooked up. And there is SO MUCH MORE.
oh i wasn't expecting that. I love this game so much, I poured actual thousands of hours in it imma Edit some stuff in as I watch: -yes it's on console but only the PC version ever received updates -the reason the soldier helmet is too big for him is because it's not his, he couldn't enroll in the army because, for some reason, he didn't passed the Mental Health Assessments to join. So he just bought second hand army uniform and started a carrier as a mercenary. -there's a couple of item in game that give you "Pyrovision" replacing screams by laughter's, retexturing smoke and explosions into bubbles and confettis, fire into rainbow and there's even a couple of map that have unique textures for it ! -"Sasha" sleep in a tiny bed beside the heavy's. When asked by the scout if he wasn't embarrassed by that, the heavy answered that "yes, Sasha needs a bigger bed" -when you kill a scout with an explosive in game there's a small chance to see Archimedes, the medic dove, flight out of his gibs -the sniper piss jar is an actual in game weapon, and a very good one at that. it's a secondary that can be thrown as a projectile and apply debuff to anyone hit by the splash zone
So many memories. Playing this game way back in high school. What a fun game. There is a still an active community but, I feel like going back and playing it, just wouldnt feel the same.
Something no reactor commented on thus far, is that there is actually an early-on hint for who the red spy really is: When they open the door to the briefcase, *Scout doesn't know what code to input*. Also, him not wanting the other two to have the pics of red spy and the scout's mother is funny in hindsight :D
13:15 "I'm assuming that's his ultimate or something?" Something like that, yeah. Medic is the only character that has an ultimate-like ability; as he heals teammates, the Ubercharge meter slowly builds to 100%. Once this reaches 100%, the Medic right-clicks with his Medi-Gun to provide a temporary, 8-second buff to both himself and whoever he's healing. This buff changes on which weapon he is currently using. The Medi-Gun gives 8 seconds of full invulnerability to all damage excluding environmental hazards, the Kritzkrieg gives 8 seconds of a 300% damage boost against players, the Quick-Fix gives 8 seconds of rapid healing, full overheal, and an immunity to knockback, and the Vaccinator has 4 seperate 2 second charges of 75% damage reduction from the selected damage type (bullets, explosions, and fire), a passive 10% damage resistance to the selected type (does not stack), an immunity to incoming critical hits, and heals 10% of incoming damage.
TF2 is a masterpiece of a game and a rare case of a game so good that lives for MANY years, even without major updates. ( The game has 100k+ daily online players, way more than many games today ). If you guys want more official TF2 stuff to react, follow this little guide : 1 - Expiration Date ( A pilot episode of a TF2 series for adult swim. It didn't get out 'cause Valve messed up with some stuff. ) 2 - "Mann Vs Machine" and "The Sound of Medicine" (Watch these 2 in the same video in that order, they kind of connect). 3 - The End of The Line ( A short movie for The "End Of The Line" update. It was made by the community, but got implemented into TF2 by Valve ) 4 - Jungle Inferno ( A trailer for a major TF2 update ) 5 - The TF2 comics voiced by "The Beard" ( Yes, TF2 has OFFICIAL comics by Valve and they're as insane as these videos. If you guys really want to get into the lore, check it out... It's a bit slow in the beginning, but then starts to get REALLY GOOD in later chapters )
my favorite part about soldiers history is that; he was not accepted by any branch of the US militarily to fight in WW2... so he personally trained himself, bought his own weapons, ammo and ticket to Germany, and personally killed over 100 Germans... in 1949.
There's a short film called expiration date that you can react. Also the TF2 voice cast made a ARG called the sandwich saga on Twitter. There's some fans who made compilation of the saga on UA-cam but the cast also dub some of the official comics from the game.
Here's some lore about each character that's in the comics that I remember and looked up Heavy: His real name is Misha which is short for Mikhail. Heavy was born in Russia sometime around WW1. His father was an anti-revolutionary who opposed the Communist uprising, so he was executed and Heavy's family put in the gulag for three months before it was burnt down in 1941 and all the guards tortured to death. He is also one of the smarter characters among the other mercs knowing both Russian and English plus he has PhD in Russian literature. Sniper: His real name is Mick Mundy. He was born in New Zealand and raised in the unforgiving Australian outback by adoptive parents. He is a paid assassin but is really against murder. Engineer: His real name is Dell Conagher born and raised in Texas. He has 11 PhDs in sciences. The Engineer designed and built the Sentry Gun under contract from TF Industries in 1965. He might be considered to be the smartest character among his comrades. Scout: Jeremy is his real name. Also no surprise he was born and raised in Boston. He is considered to be on of the dumber characters in the lore. He has a basic elementary knowledge of reading. The Red Spy is his father. Demoman: Tavish Finnegan DeGroot is the name of the beloved "Black Scottish Cyclops." He was born in Scotland. He has such a high blood alcohol level for so long that eating normal food poisons him and is fatality deadly to him and it is shown that his body is so accustomed to his alcoholic lifestyle that it is able to distill alcohol from his bone marrow. Demo is best friends with Soldier Soldier: John Doe you could call him since they don't know his real name and he was born in the Midwest USA. The Soldier is both a priest and a lawyer and he deafened the Scout in court. He was rejected from every branch of the United States military during World War II, so to get around this, he bought a plane ticket to Poland and went on a "Nazi" killing spree, which was ended quickly when he found out that the war had already ended in 1949. It also inferred that he might have lead pensioning. Spy: His name is unknown. He hails from French meaning he can speak both English and French. He is also the Scouts father. Medic: Called Dr. Ludwig and he hails from Stuttgart, Germany. Of course he went to med school however he had his medical license taken from him. He created ÜberCharge, an ability of the Medic that enables himself and his healing target to become fully invulnerable to damage. In the same comic, is also confirmed that Medic sold his own soul to the devil, but after that has "surgically added eight more", and wangles himself back to life by promising that the devil would have enough time to get the eight other souls in fifty years of extra life, and before leaving hell, he sells one soul for a pen to convince the devil. The eight extra souls are assumed to be his team mates' souls as later in the comic. Pyro: Their name is unknown and so is their gender, however there has been hints that it's a female. It is thought Pyro makes really good spaghetti and Pizza due to their Italian father teaching them.
Funny enough if you look closely at the board in the Meet the Spy video, Pyro is actually *both* genders. The RED and BLU team are male and female (respectively? hard to tell from the grainy footage of the short). The answer was right in front of us for pretty much a decade.
waited an entire year for you to play the game like every one of you promised you would. Not sure why you were too scared or lazy to even try. Unsubscribed.
Meet the team: A Professional French spy A Mentally deranged pyromaniac A Boston/New Yorker with a bat A walking mini gun An unqualified doctor A master engineer A rocket jumping soldier A Black Scottish Cyclops An Australian jarate sniper Aaaannnddd a Sandvich ... Am I missing anything?
Spy can also go invisible or feign his death in addition to disguising as any class FROM BOTH TEAMS! But yes, he's a complicated class to play for new players, because Spy and Engineer have more than the standard 3 weapon slot that the other classes have (Primary weapon, secondary weapon/utility item, melee): the Spy also has the invisibility watch and his disguise kit and the sapper to destroy Engineer buildings like sentries, dispensers and teleporters. While the Engineer has his PDA to build or destroy said buildings, his wrench to level them up, and can pick up and carry and redeploy an existing building (or use a special unlockable shotgun to teleport buildings across to the map to his hand). Or can forego his sidearm the pistol to equip the Wrangler to radio-control his sentry to switch it from it automatic locking onto enemies (literal aimbot) to personally controlling the sentry so you have to aim it yourself, but the upside is the sentry gets a longer range and faster firing speed and also an energy shield that gives it damage resistance so effectively the sentry turret gets more health against enemy fire. Or switch the wrench to his Gunslinger robotic hand which grants +25hp and the ability to punch enemies to death and allows the Engineer to build a minisentry that deploys much faster and shoots faster and costs less metal to deploy but has only 100hp... but the downside is he can't build a standard level 3 sentry (which deals more damage, has larger healthpool, and at levels 3 gets a rocket launcher on top).
You actually read up on the comics, you find sooooo much more about them the game doesn’t tell you. I won’t give away any spoilers, but let’s just say it gets insane with what happens!
Fun facts about meet the spy (the end scene) 1st off , the spy’s va made a grammar error when saying the line “ma petit chou fleur” , it should’ve been “MON petit chou-fleur” 2nd off , that literally translates to “my little cauliflower” (Yes I speak French)
If I can suggest, maybe you'd like to react to The Most Fashionable Faction by The Stupendium. It's a Team Fortress 2 fan song that works quite similarly to the Meet The Team videos you just watched in terms of characterisation Plus, The Stupendium is a great music artist, would love to see some reactions to them
The Game has a pretty consistent playerbase of at minimum 50,000 on avg 80,000 and with updates getting up to 110,000 players. It's def very fun but best to stick with community servers, matchmaking will put you into games that most likely will have bots and I don't mean ingame bots, there's been an infestation of sniper aim bots and spam bots that sole existence is to ruin your experience.
Fun Fact: The Spy was a glitch character in the beta of the game, but so many people loved playing it that they decided to keep the character and make it a part of the lore.
Yeah I felt the same way. They kept saying they would play. Then they said they had to watch all of Lazy Purple's 'how it feels' series before they could play for some reason. I used to be subscribed just waiting to see some tf2 gameplay but I eventually gave up and unsubbed.

Still working on Medic as far as I know.
Dude especially how he dramatizes actual gameplay clips of his. It’s pure gold… I mean, Australium.
Huge potential for an Adult Swim show, for sure.
that almost happend but valve could not comit and Adult Swim had to drop them.
that almost happened but valve couldn't meet deadlines and it was canceled.
@@godofportal5905we got expiration date instead
Yeah I'm pretty sure expiration date is kind of a pilot for it in a way
Funnier than anything Adult Swim has ever made honestly, I would murder for a tf2 series
It’s kinda crazy how active TF2’s player base is to this day despite not getting a big update in years
Just got a summer update with 15 new maps. That's something.

7:55 THAT was until Medic found a way to Outsmart Bullets
Additional fact: The reason why there is only a "Meet the Red Team" videos is because the director who made the interview with red team was killed by the Administrator's secretary (Ms. Pauling) before getting the chance to speak with Blu Team. It's a fact inside the official TF2 comics.
"Outsmart bullet" is also likely a reference to the phrase "The bullet is the dumbest man on the battlefield".
funfact: demoman isnt swearing, hes telling the location of lochness monster
A really fun fact, a very rare occurrence with Scout is sometimes when he is blown up by any explosive, you can see Archimedes fly out of him!
16 years… and it’s still got the most character of any game I’ve ever played. One would say… A timeless masterpiece
Spy is one of the most frustrating and rewarding class to play as.
You're in for a *_rough_* existence until you actually become "pro" and "ascended"
Ahhhaaa classic x) appreciate you guys checking out this gem. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Fun fact, the sniper is from new Zealand, he was raised in Australia. The people in Australia look much different.🙃🙃🙃
Aww, they used the "meet them all" reupload. It's generally better to see them in release order via the official playlist because of the way the tone shifts from interviews to movies and then Pyro comes last and brings it full circle.
The TF2 lore and comics are ALSO fucking insane and I love them so much despite having only played like. 2 matches of this game in my entire life xD
The comics are also an absolute delight, highly recommend watching the dubbed series on UA-cam. Look forward to hopefully see you guys give the game a go aswell it still is a genre defining game
The dubbed series is honestly some of the best voice work on UA-cam I swear
I love the timing during the Pyro, guy in top left saying tf2 were psychos, doesn't even finish before just getting flabbergasted 🤣
Meet the Scout: When he says "I hurt people" He taps the camera lens. The rest of the interview bits there's a fingerprint smudge on the lens.
Meet the Soldier: He's mainly insane, but the trailer does show off he can rocket jump. Meaning he literally propels himself through the air via explosion
Meet the Pyro: We're not even sure Pyro's a man, or human....
Meet the Demo: The bleeping wasn't excessive swearing, it was classified info being suppressed. He said 'more feckin sea monsters in the great loch ness'
Meet the Heavy: Bear in mind...$400k in the late 60s....
Meet the Engineer: 11 phds, and probably the smartest member of the team, or at least tied with Medic
Meet the Medic: Medic made a deal with the devil, and now his medical prowess is from a loose 'belief it will work' case. Like one time he scraped blood off the ground into a bucket and poured it in an open wound to put it back in someone. Also, in game any time a scout is blown apart by explosives, there's a 1% chance a dove will fly away from the gibs
Meet the Sniper: He's actually from New Zealand....which in the TF2 universe is kind of a joking play on both Atlantis and Krypton.
Then given a 30 second cooldown if it healed any hp, but no cooldown if it did not heal hp (if heavy was at max hp and used it normally, he'd still play the animation and take a bite, but it wouldn't use it up and start the cooldown timer)
there's more official skits to watch.
Don't forget Yeti Park.
To be fair, Medic filtered that blood through his underpants before pouring it back into everyone. (Multiple people, too. What even _is_ a blood type, really.)
@@ScreamingScallop and he stole the entire teams souls as well
Fun fact: TF2 lore, it's canon that everyone did rocket jumping to move between floors, until Abe Lincoln invented stairs
That universe is so batshit insane
The community is still huge dudes, my little brother had been playing this game for over 10years
And it is growing strong
the amount of times i’ve seen the meet the team videos is staggeringly high. i grew up on those trailers and i’ll forever hold them as the best trailers ever made. they’re truly perfect and couldn’t have been made any better.
This is why TF2 is still alive even though it has no major update for years. Everything about TF2 is just perfect
Thank you janitor and plant!
Guys. The community of this game is so creative. If you enjoyed this official animation, you will love what other people cooked up. And there is SO MUCH MORE.
im so happy to see that even after over a decade new people are still getting into tf2!
You should see people like Doctor Lalve (at the cost of you sanity)
7:49
Fun Fact:
In the comics, Heavy is one of the smartest characters, because has multiple PhD’s.
He only has one confirmed one in Russian literature, and that was only stated in a non-canon source.
"They're all different kinds of psycopaths." Is the best way you can describe the team to someone who knows nothing about tf2
7:38 as soon as Heavy screamed: "WHO TOUCHED MY GUN?!" They all stopped laughing.
Man got a bit too excited for this part 18:11
Just an fyi, Medic’s Ubercharge builds up by healing people, and once you’ve built up 100%, you can activate it and become invincible for 8 seconds.
oh i wasn't expecting that. I love this game so much, I poured actual thousands of hours in it
imma Edit some stuff in as I watch:
-yes it's on console but only the PC version ever received updates
-the reason the soldier helmet is too big for him is because it's not his, he couldn't enroll in the army because, for some reason, he didn't passed the Mental Health Assessments to join.
When asked by the scout if he wasn't embarrassed by that, the heavy answered that "yes, Sasha needs a bigger bed"
-when you kill a scout with an explosive in game there's a small chance to see Archimedes, the medic dove, flight out of his gibs
-the sniper piss jar is an actual in game weapon, and a very good one at that. it's a secondary that can be thrown as a projectile and apply debuff to anyone hit by the splash zone
So many memories. Playing this game way back in high school. What a fun game. There is a still an active community but, I feel like going back and playing it, just wouldnt feel the same.
TF2 really is something special, seeing people still discovering it after this long is a real treat
It's a shame you watched them out of order but still hilarious
One shutters to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask
That gives me creeps fr
Something no reactor commented on thus far, is that there is actually an early-on hint for who the red spy really is:
When they open the door to the briefcase, *Scout doesn't know what code to input*.
Also, him not wanting the other two to have the pics of red spy and the scout's mother is funny in hindsight :D
16:23 Spy is the only man who can pull out the "ur mom" joke with evidence
3:47 so basically the team fortress is just a bunch of psychop- 😦
10:56 I love how the guy in the top left laughs exactly like medic
I love the fact I could recite the meet the team videos with ease
I love how each part equally showcases each character's uniqueness.
"So basically, the Team Fortress is just a bunch of psychopaths"
Yep, pretty much.
13:15
"I'm assuming that's his ultimate or something?"
Something like that, yeah.
If you guys want more official TF2 stuff to react, follow this little guide :
1 - Expiration Date ( A pilot episode of a TF2 series for adult swim. It didn't get out 'cause Valve messed up with some stuff. )
2 - "Mann Vs Machine" and "The Sound of Medicine" (Watch these 2 in the same video in that order, they kind of connect).
3 - The End of The Line ( A short movie for The "End Of The Line" update. It was made by the community, but got implemented into TF2 by Valve )
4 - Jungle Inferno ( A trailer for a major TF2 update )
5 - The TF2 comics voiced by "The Beard" ( Yes, TF2 has OFFICIAL comics by Valve and they're as insane as these videos. If you guys really want to get into the lore, check it out... It's a bit slow in the beginning, but then starts to get REALLY GOOD in later chapters )
Blue Spy: He could be you, he could be me, he could even be...
Red Spy: Right Behind you
Watching someone experience something I’ve loved for the first time makes me so happy
my favorite part about soldiers history is that; he was not accepted by any branch of the US militarily to fight in WW2... so he personally trained himself, bought his own weapons, ammo and ticket to Germany, and personally killed over 100 Germans... in 1949.
(At 2:17) Heavy has a minigun. Soldier has a bazooka.
Meet the Spy has the best Yo Mama joke in history
There's a short film called expiration date that you can react. Also the TF2 voice cast made a ARG called the sandwich saga on Twitter. There's some fans who made compilation of the saga on UA-cam but the cast also dub some of the official comics from the game.
Übercharge was basically an ultimate before ultimates were a mainstream concept, and still is markedly different mechanically.
Here's some lore about each character that's in the comics that I remember and looked up
Heavy: His real name is Misha which is short for Mikhail.
Demo is best friends with Soldier
Soldier: John Doe you could call him since they don't know his real name and he was born in the Midwest USA.
The answer was right in front of us for pretty much a decade.
all of these are so good, i still quote Sniper, Scout, and Spy to this day

Team fortress 2 is a timeless classic
Spy is the funniest class to play but the worst class in stats. But OMG, so fun !
tf2 is like the grandpa of the entire team fight game genre. youll likely notice that games like overwatch take a ton of influence from tf2
Fun facts about meet the spy (the end scene)
