Thanks for the honesty and passion that you speak with. You sound like a guy who knows where he is going and what he wants from life. Kids need the model you provide.
Thanks for posting this, was drawn to another BCer and was not disappointed. Agreed with everything you said. Feeling quite inspired to create my own video now!
@bcfilmguy I feel it incumbent upon myself, to insist on just how beautiful life can be, and what enriching experiences can be had! What's really encouraging my friend, is that many are now denouncing this horrific phenomenon, not just queer folks like us! Thank you for speaking up! May G-D Bless You! Blaine
Thank you for posting this. It is relieving to come out of the closet, even if only to yourself, so long as you stop trying to make yourself something that you're not.
@bcfilmguy Ciao Bello! Grazie "Ragazzo/Uomo Bello" (Beautiful Boy/Man) for making this wonderful contribution to a "Campaign" or project if you will, that is so dear to my heart! I know "Bello" that it will continue to resonate with so many! You've made Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here most grateful to, and f**king proud of you! You "Canucks"rock "Bello"! Con L'Amore e Molti Baci! (Love n' Kisses Babe) Blaine
THANK YOU for releasing a video that's truly candid and honest yet delivered with gentleness. i've been quite disappointed with the number of It Gets Better submission that are altogether too abrasive and self-involved. yours spoke from the right place, and i'm certain that it'll help any youth who give it a watch. again, thanks. :)
i only just watched this video on the it gets better project site, and i can honesly say that it made me all emotional. i myself am straight but i can kinda relate to your story through my friends. i've had a few guy friends who have come out as gay and i've seen and heard first hand by them what kind of emotions they go through when considering to reveal this part of themselves.as you said, being a teenager is hard enough thank you for your inspiring view on the topic. :)
thanks for making this honest and uplifting video. Canada sounds like a wonderful place to live. Canada seems to be more positively socially evolved than the U.S. It sounds like all Canadian citizens are truely equal under the law. It sounds like there is a overall general social consciousness in Canada to treat all people with dignity and respect. Canadian values are awesome!
@bcfilmguy I've been having quite a time responding to posts regarding the Lifetime movie "Prayers For Bobby"! Bobby Griffith and I dated for a couple of years before he took his own life. I was completely illequiped, as a 19yr old boy ,to cope with the unexpected death of one I had cared for deeply!
Just one question: How do you know when you're ok with yourself and you can finally accept it and don't feel guilty? (Ok that was like 3 questions in one) Question two: How is it that I feel that I wanna be with a guy SO BAD yet I feel some sort of guilt like I'm doing something that I shouldn't be doing? (Nothing to do with religion, just stuff with myself)
FIRST OFF, I JUST WANT IT TO BE KNOWN THAT, I AM GAY (CLOSETED) AND THE REASON I HAVEN'T CAME OOUT TO ANYONE IS BECAUSE WHERE I'M FROM (BAHAMAS) MANY PEOPLE ARE CLOSE MINDED TOWARDS HOMOSEXUALITY AND OTHER STUFF THAT MAKES US ALL DIFFERENT. I THINK SOME OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS KNOW BUT KEEP IT A SECRET. I'M SO GLAD THAT THERE ARE PROGRAMS LIKE THE "IT GETS BETTER PROJECT" TO HELP OTHERS IN MY SITUATION, BUT I REALLY WISH THAT WE HAD A PROGRAM LIKE THIS HERE.
I just got like really depressed while watching this video. I was thinking about all of the horrible things that homophobes will do to the gay community and it made me sad. I don't understand how people can treat others that way. I'm straight, and I believe that anyone should be able to be with whomever they wish, regardless of any and all circumstances.
This kind of issue could be easily Avoided if people were accepting. I'm christian and my church accepts gays and doesn't think being gay is a sin because it isn't. This is a serious issue and all some people do is hate and THAT is what is morally wrong. Whether you agree with homosexuality or not is one thing but people don't need to aggressively push this ideas on others.
Nothing wrong with coming from a Cookie Cutter or being one. Perhaps you've missed the point. Most homosexuals are birthed as a result of heterosexual activity. It's not that you failed in raising an individual as heterosexual, it's that a person you love is suppressing emotions with no where to turn! The hope here to make them feel okay with these emotions. It's not trying to convert anyone - but it does have to be THEIR choice for their LIFE.
