Stephanie Jones is an international treasure. She welcomed us to her "little home recital" but instead treated us to a master class. She begins with selections from the standard repertoire of college student grade material. But from Bach through Sor and Tárrega, Ms. Jones showed us all how to play these pieces with precision and verve. Do you ever hear the sounds of her fingers sliding from one fret position to another? Not even once. Nothing but exquisitely sustained melody with solid intonation. Without fail, Ms. Jones gets her fingers in position for the next series of notes with ample time to spare with grace and authority. And then she progressively revealed her virtuosity from Maria Linnemann's lyrical gem through Brouwer and Charlton's epic pieces. She concludes with two movements of an Astor Piazzolla composition arranged by Sergio Assad requiring virtuoso technique on her part every step of the way. And she delivers generously. We're privileged hear and see all this professionally produced and available for replay with a click of the button. These are the best of times, these are the worst of times.
Mark, YES!
If you're being nitpicky, you could hear finger sliding, at least in lagrima since that was one of the ones I really listened in to.
I think she is a fantastic guitarist but her style doesn't emit the tones that Andre Segovia or Christopher Parkening could produce. Those fret noises don't occur because of inferior playing. They happen when the musician is completely responsible for producing the tones & volume without relying on a mic. Especially, when you have a powerful & precise style like the aforementioned guitarists. You just don't hear that nowadays because of the innovation of recording tools being used. Honestly, I miss those Human characteristics. Just my .02
@@Guppusmaximus She's playing acoustically without amplification. There are microphones recording what she is playing in order to transmit her music to us. If she were squeaking as she played the microphone would pick it up. It does take extra technique to avoid those sounds which she does consistently. Her tone sounds full and sustained to me. I'm pretty sure they didn't modify the original recording. What you hear is what she played.
There are other contemporary guitarists of similar caliber. It is certainly not the case that after Segovia and Parkening everyone else is just a side note to their glory.
@@markmitchell6179 Funny---I actually love hearing string squeak in some classical pieces. It's part of the character of this unique musical instrument. That said, I'm dumbfounded by Stephanie's playing. Everything from her tone to her phrasing is just out if this world. Call me crazy but she sounds like John Williams, only with more soul.
This concert deserves hundreds of millions of views
Her playing is both technically perfect as it is musical to the highest degree ❤
Lindo , parabéns
Stephanie, your playing is as beautiful as you are!
58 years ago I heard Larry Adler play the Bach gavotte on his harmonica in Arkwright road public library (closed long, long ago). Stephanie's interpretation takes me back to those childhood mists and evokes a sweet, gentleness. I never knew the name of that piece until today. Thank you for the evocation.
8:43 Lagrima. This is one of the best performances of this iconic classic guitar piece that I’ve ever heard. Well done.
The accenting is magnificent
Got to agree. This an exquisite version that really brings out the expression of teardrop of the title. It was so good I had a tear at the end. Stephanie is such an expressive player, a different league.
No. El tempo... No.
One of my latest experiences on guitar is Stephanie. She is an amazing new star to me. Never have I before found such a talent in classic guitar. Not only a talent, but already a master!
She is so unique. The only person who can do what she does and she does it with such grace and style. Yes, a treasure she is.
I sit and practice gratitude at breakfast.
I sat and listened to you play and man do these pieces lend itself well to gratitude practice.
I’m breathing, free of life threatening disease, I have coffee, buttered toasted roll, I breathe, thank you for the sounds to really make these minutes complete.

I don’t know how any person can play so beautifully.
Few people know or imagine the tremendous amount of work required to achieve this level of interpretative delivery!!
What a wonderful artist and musician she is!
May Gd bless you always Stephanie!!
Incredible latent with so such passion in what she does. A true star
With the first notes, I exclaimed, "She is Fantastic", as an involuntary expression. The guitar tone is as close to perfection as has even been fashioned by the luthier's Art. Warm, yet clear and articulate. This is what happens when a world-class musician plays a world-class instrument.
Her Piazolla is absolutely wonderful
Danke für dieses wunderschöne Privatkonzert.
Wow, the tremolo in the Recuerdos de la Alhambra was so unbelievably smooth. Dream-like.

I went through so many emotions during this presentation, truly inspiring!
you open my heart
Bravissimo as always she is perfect, the song list, the sound the pitch, the technic, the interpretation, the posture, Stephanie is a bright star that we are lucky to be able to hear and see such beauty, Stephanie je t'aime....te quiero ....

Thank you Altamira for leading me to Stephanie Jones' delightful musicianship!
What an added treat we get watching those magic fingers and seeing the gentle smiles and frowns so much a part of the creation of, as Mark Mitchell said, our very own master class. You are a true treasure Stephanie.
My outlook changed
Thank you for creating this purely beautiful gift to make me appreciate the wonder of humanity's achievements.

Brilliant playing, as we are used to hear from Stephanie. In addition I must repeat that the Hanson N3 sounds wonderful.
Beautiful Play! So Pretty.
It's as much fun to watch the joy and passion you have playing these pieces as it is to listen to them being masterfully played!

Yet another stunning performance!
So beautiful...Thank you!
This evening I really need some peace. Thanks for providing the perfect atmosphere for it, Stephanie.
So beautifully played. Thank you so much.
Stephanie is one of the most expressive guitarists in the young generation. Her Brower's piece is great. The first time I was moved by the piece after listening to it played by other guitarists.
ブローウェルの曲は他のギタリストによる演奏をいくつか聴いたが、ステファニーさん程表情豊かな演奏は無かった。
Splendid! Thank you, Stephanie!
