I think the author makes a typo @9:05, writing [1 1 0] instead of [1 1 1]. Just in case that threw anyone off. He proceeds to work the matrix as if it were [1 1 1], getting to the correct conclusion.

the reduced echelon form should have the last column all zeros. typo with the 1,

For the last column, why would the top right be a 0 instead of a 1?

The new row 1=R1-R2 so if you subtract R1-R2, you can see the new row is 100

can i ask why did he put a 0 in the third column instead of 1 in the RRE form? the RE form matrix in the first row is 1, 1, 1 but when it comes to RRE form matrix, it became 1, 1, 0.
