Thank for this video!! This video saved me a $300 repair bill. I was able to breakdown my 937 and clear all the dog in the wheels. Works like brand new
Going to save this video for an emergency situation lol, also have the same bought it for second hand, and I have to say the owner said the wheel was doing the same thing as yours, so I reset and clean, didn't change anything on the robot and it's working like a charm lol
On mine the rubber tread on one of the wheels was torn and got the wheel stuck. I just cut the torn piece off of the tread and it runs fine now but that tread will probably have to be replaced soon.
Hello, How did you take the cover off the wheel? I am trying to fix my right wheel on Deebot U2 Pro. I have reached the stage where I have to dismantle the wheel to clean it but can’t figure out how to remove the wheel cover
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm wondering if you have any idea how to remove the other wheel? There are some wires attached to the back of the housing, and I couldn't figure it out. If you could show/explain how it's done, I'd be really grateful. Thanks🙏
@Duf They are not identical unfortunately. I went ahead disassembled the robot. To get to the left wheel, you'll need to remove the laser components first and then the bottom panel below the dust tray. The wires are, for some reason, glued to the panel underneath for no obvious reasons I could tell. To replace the wheel, you'll have to remove the glue by force. Maybe it's just to prevent self repair.
Hi, i have the same model but a different issue. As far as i saw, the main brush motor it will be easy to replace right? It is not covered by anything, just you have to unplugged and replaced it, let me know if am right, thanks in advance
Thanks for such a great video. I am having an issue where my T8 goes in circles (right motor not functioning properly) I watched your video and removed the right wheel. I didn't see any burn marks or anything on motor so I attached a 18650 battery with leads to the motor and the motor and wheel were functioning. There was no debris stuck that would affect the rotation. I put it back together and same issue. Any ideas what could be going on? I just tried covering the drop sensors and turning the vacuum upside down and turning it on. Both motors work. The right one feels stronger than right.
@@mysteriumspacecadet4770 Yes! I had to take off the plastic plate on top of the deebot. I had to watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/DTyPzdpjY78/v-deo.html
Like this video. Which ‘bot do you recommend in a 750 sq/ft one bedroom apartment with 2 cats? (I have a GREAT electric Littermaid ‘bot poop-box, 4 years old @ STILL purring)?
I had a very similar experience and got it working but after re assembly the robot starts cleaning ok until it bumps into something, and shortly after says ‘please help me out’ and stops. I noticed that the bumper was not completely bouncing back after the bump and I believe the bumper was stuck and that was why the Deebot was asking for help. I took it apart again and put it back together but I still have the same problem. Any advice? I am going to try again to get it back together properly. My original problem was the same as yours with the deebot continuously turning in tight circles, but I could rotate both wheels manually. I found the same video on how to disassemble the 900 that you did and it was very helpful. I had to do the same thing with the motherboard that you did taking the screws out in order to get to the big plastic arc in the front, remove its screws so I could get to the wheel assembly. When I disconnected the wheel assembly I found a broken wire on the cable between the motherboard and the wheel motor on the side. I repaired the broken wire by stripping the two ends and adding a short piece of stranded wire in between and soldering it to the ends and taping the whole thing up. I also disassembled the wheel and found the belt and the little gears like you did but there was nothing wrong with them. So I put them back together and after putting the whole unit together I was happy to see that both wheels were working. In regular use the Bot wheels come up and down fairly regularly when it goes over an obstacle of some sort and this causes tension flexing of the wires repeatedly which I believe was the cause of the broken wire. I had the same problem with the bot turning in tight circles about a year ago. It was still under warranty so I sent it back to ecovacs and they repaired and returned it quite promptly, but did not tell what the problem was. However neither wheel was locked like yours was, both would turn manually.
I found and fixed my problem with the bumper not returning to normal position after bumping. It turned out to be an incompletely seated motherboard on one of its mounting screw holes. This raised one side of the motherboard by the PC board’s thickness, causing the entire top assembly to be slightly higher on one side. This caused friction between the bumper and the top and bottom of the assembled body. Now the deebot cleans the whole ground floor without incident, earning a deep sigh of satisfaction.
I have a Deebot Ozmo 960, looks pretty much the same when opened. My right drive wheel just locks up while it's trying to vacuum. If I bump it or lift it up it will work again for a while. The wheel isn't physically locked up, it spins freely. I have been playing with it trying to get happy and I noticed if the wheel drops down a bit it will stop spinning but if I push it to certain points it starts working again. I THINK maybe the wires are broken internally and it looses connection or something. I didn't tear it down quite a far as you did so if I decide to replace the wheel I can now do it. I had it running around with the top off and it still will work and map and everything if it breaks again you can leave it open to test it out before you reassemble it, it just ignored the missing front bumper. The 960 has the AVI camera but other than that seems identical to the 930 you have. Now I know I can probably order a 930 wheel and it should work. I only see one limit switch on mine so the wheel only working in most extensions is a bother. I might just order a T8 with the self empty bin anyway as Ebay has a few decent deals on new and refurbished ones now with the dustbin included.
@@Duf I found a brand new T8 with the self empty bin for a best offer of 350 shipped free. I still tried playing with the 960, tried limiting the wheel travel but I spose it's possible there's some crap in the wheel housing causing the belt to stick or something. Seems hard to find the proper wheel assembly for it here lately. I have a 900 I've had a few years that the right wheel hard locks when it first powers up but spins fine when it's off so I gave up and got the 960 as a refurbished from Amazon cheap enough. I figured the electronics that drive that wheel died for it to only lock up after it boots up on the 900.
Interesting vid. Do robot vacs actually do a good job at cleaning floors, especially pet hairs? Doesn't look like there is a powerful suction motor or large compartment for the dust/dirt. Look forward to next vid, thanks.
Yes they do. Just get something proper, like Neato.. not these botvacs. I replaced my Neato D85 with Deebot 930 and it was a horrible move... ill need to get some never model Neato ro replace this piece of plastic shitcarbage.
Hair always get stuck on the wheel , like vacuum they will experience the same thing ! Easy fix I would say , because I alway fix my own gadgets , just occasionally the parts cost more than the fix 😂
Does anyone knows what's the usb for? Edit thanks for the like 😅 Also I took everything apart because the left wheel stop working, and I open it and saw the the motor was burned, and I also noticed that, there is 2 usb ports and the impressive part that comes with an micro SD slot, I search and searched nothing mention of usb ports and micro SD card slot..... Let's see if someone was able to find some answers lol
@@Duf Finally actually opened it, the encoder was stuck as it had accumulated some strings.... it ended up being an easy fix. Thanks for the tutorial, apparently it took me 9 months to finally get to opening it as i thought i had to spend 25€ on this shit to buy a new wheel. Meanwhile i switched back to my old neato D85, its way superior as a vacuum. Larger front mounted brush makes all the difference. Thanks for the tutorial, it saved me some money! :)

@Duf I've disassembled the vac and want to replace both drive motors. It is a XCR5230-QE stepper motor. Any source ideas?
Got mine on Ebay
Can you remove the wheel covers without total disassembly in order to remove hair?
I am about to find out because I got something stuck in a wheel, AGAIN!
Continuing from previous comment: Thanks for your video. Wish me luck.

So with your battery test the gearbox was attached? In my case I had a string binding the gears, found out after I pulled it apart.
@@Duf yes it was attached. maybe I should have taken it apart but the motor moved the wheel so I didn’t know if a sensor was off or...
After replacing with a new wheel, the wheel doesn’t pop back out when i press it down. It stays down. Any ideas why that may have happened ?
Sounds like something didn't get snapped back together correctly would be my guess.
Thanks for the video! Have you ever worked in a t8? I need to do s similar project but I cant get the front bumper off.
