    I have a Yeedi (ecovacs) and was sure I was going to break it trying to get this wheel out to clean out the dog hair. Thank you!

    Do you know how to remove the front bumper and access the brush motor? Trying to do a repair on mine and I can't get to it.

      I haven't had to take that particular robot apart, sorry.

      I just use an old toothbrush. Turn the wheels and scrub.

    Mine keeps saying to check the driving wheels but it looks fine. Any idea why?

      Well the first thing to understand is that the robot almost never knows what is actually wrong with it. The Ecovacs company is divided into two divisions, the super intelligent and very capable hardware division, and a gaggle of crack addicted monkeys that write all of the software.
      I get that error a lot, and it usually just means it's stuck on something.

    Do you have a video of how to replace the side brush module?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 роки тому

      You mean the actual module under the side brushes, for which you have to take the robot apart? No, sorry.

    They are definitely hard to remove. The plastic ends broke off of the axle when I tried to remove them. Any idea where to get a replacement?

      I'm sorry to hear that. The only source I have found, besides questionable ebay parts that don't look like the original but claim to fit, is Ecovacs themselves. I'd give them a call, tell them you followed their video tutorial that shows you prying it out with a scissor (yes, this is real, they have this, tells you everything you need to know about the company) and that it broke, and they should send you a new wheel.

      @@MrRoombato Perfect! I also saw the shady EBay parts. I’ll give them a call! Thank you!

      @@SkateSolutions You're very welcome. If you do end up trying shady ebay parts, please let me know how they work out!

    Can you tell me, how did you build a ramp for your robots? What materials did you use and did you have to have completely flat angles in order for the bots to go on it? Have any of them had issues with it?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  4 роки тому +1

      I don’t have ramps, what I call a “ramp” (in another video) is just a floor transition molding you can buy in most hardware stores. There are two main types of transitions...t-molding and asymmetric risers. The “ramp” is a riser, for transitioning from a lower floor to a higher one.

    • @MrRoombato

      btw, I call them risers, but most often they are called reducers. Here is an example of one you can get on amazon: www.amazon.com/Overlap-Oak-Molding-Wide-FT/dp/B07Y44G5FZ/

      you can also get it called a "threshold" ramp

    are wheels easily removable on S5 Max ?
    also the intro is much louder than dialogue, please increase ur Voice outpout to match :)

      Don't tell me what to do! :P Just kidding, feedback is always welcome! I've actually taken to lowering the intro volume. I also have a new microphone which I'm tinkering with to get the best settings. Thank you for your patience!

      As for the wheel on the S5...easier yes, easy not. Easier enough that I didn't feel the need to cut it down.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Anti drop sensors keep this unit from doing its job. You will have to reset anti drop sensors 15 to 20 times in a week. You must be supervising this unit all the time, otherwise it will not do the job as anti drop sensors needs a lot of attention. There is no DISABLE OPTION feature in the app to disable the ANTI DROP sensors, and many people have been complaining about that issue since 2019. So far, NO UPDATES on the app. Another issue, the ECOVACS Deebot T8 AIVI Robot reset maps 2 to 4 times in a month, which is a headache. STAY WAY from ECOVACS products because it’s not worth it and buy a better well know brand on the market. I think this vacuum is like a test version to find out problems where people can complain.

      You probably have a defective robot. I've had a lot of issues with the software and app, but never with the drop sensors.

      My map resets at Least once a month. It was even worse but what helped me was: using Wi-Fi with only one access point (not mesh) and more lights during cleaning (it was setup for cleaning during night and it was just not bright enough)
      But still map resets, however less often :/
