All right guys this a 2001 BMW X5 E53 AWD L6 3.0L Automatic. Bummer all stock with cold air intake. This video about testing this X on a rocks, sand, mountains and jumps.

The more of these X5 off road clips that I watch the more impressed I am by BMW's X Drive system and what the cars can do - I had never thought of them as having any sort of four wheel drive ability. If you want a SUV that is really nice to drive on the road and can 'off road' up to the point where you might need low range one of these mightn't be a bad choice.
I'f it doesn't have a locking differential how can it be even offroad capable
The E53 X5 Didn't have x drive until the mid life update. the 99-03 models had a full time 38/62% F/R torque split AWD system with wheelspin and traction control covered by the ABS and DSC systems. The 04 -06 E53 had x drive (which allows the vehicle to send up to 100% torque to either the front or rear axle as needed)
This guys car is a pre x drive model.

We take our X5 35d off-road. Drove it all the way through the Baja to Cabo from northern Canada. Approach and departure are ok, but the breakover is the biggest drawback. The traction control does a pretty good job when two opposite tires are in the air.
2007 or newer X5 35d I love how it looks, I heard they have better traction control.
BMWs “can’t off road” this video shows how you properly off road. No 21 inch M rims, No Sport tires. No Assholes of course.
Proper driver + Right model = 👍
New X5 has 10.3 inches of ground clearance that’s more than enough to off road. NON M Sport, with Xdrive your fine
The X5 3.0 diesel is pretty capable off-road because they produce a lot more torque will still having plenty of horsepower.
Many forget to turn off their traction control system which is why many fail in their attempt , when the system is left active power will be sent to the wheels off the ground which is the complete opposite of what’s needed off-road. Turn off, you’ll get the power going to the ground where needed 👍🏻
Obviously A/T tires are a must lol
A savvy driver, decent offroad tires, and a clear understanding of your clearances and dimensions - and you can make a crossover do some pretty amazing things.
Tires are key. And knowing when to send it, and when to creep it.
I'm impressed with what you did with your X5... but its also pretty clear - you know what you are doing off road, so yeah... I'd call this 80% driver 20% vehicle.

How could BMW build a car so at odds with all it stood for? But of course we shouldn't have worried; BMW's 4×4 was virtually as great to drive as the car maker's class-leading 5-series.
They bought Land-rover at that time and used their technology and then sold it 😉

I mean if you want to tear it all to hell and get stuck several times sure. We had a 2000 TC, that mf bottomed out its bumpers in town pulling into driveways if you weren't careful.

А шо не слышно ? А по теме - ну на доресте можно еще как-то по бездорожью машину покончать, а вот рест - это уже всё. Да и вообще, подвеска короткоходовая, морда тяжелая, всё это превращается в издевательство над машиной. Прорваться-то сквозь говна можно, но это не внедорожник.
Dont do this. You can get yourself into a dangerous situation that you can't get out of without calling for recovery.
Nothing against BMW as I own one, but its simple physics of the vehicle.
A B D's of going off the pavement: Approach, Breakover, and Departure. The X5 fails in all 3 categories for anything other than gravel roads and special camera angles that attempt to enhance the terrain. Notice the horizon is often slanted in these videos.
