- In 1962 Eddie Fisher gave a brilliant one man limited run show at Broadway's famed Winter Garden Theater.
He sounded great and wowed audiences and critics alike. Singing a remarkable group of songs, standards, new songs, his hits, Jolson hits and an Eddie Cantor song, Fisher was electric on stage.
Fortunately for fans then and now, the concert was taped and put out as an LP and later re-released on CD.
This video focuses on the wonderful set of Jolson songs he sang, some in shortened versions, and some in complete ones.
The clarity from start to finish is outstanding 😮
Such a talent; funny after all these years , this man can still reach one's heart strings. And I'm texting this in 2020. I was born in 1936!!
Eddie Fisher you live on.
Yes remarkable voice and ability to relay his emotions.
Edward Wilson I don’t understand why Eddie Fisher’s music is not played anymore...he was a fabulous crooner.
You are very right . Should be played much more. But he wa snot a crooner, better described as a belter.

1943 here. Been in love with this voice since 1951
What a great voice. Wish someone would release his 1950's Coke Time Shows. We met Eddie in New York when he was at the Palace in September 1967 and he was so nice to his fans. He spent 3 hours with us in his dressing room talking and singing for us.
Thanks and you are so right.
Mrs. Fisher’s boy sure could sing! We forget just how very good Eddie Fisher was. 🥴
You are so right.
My absolute favorite singer! Eddie had a magnificent voice!
Could not agree more. Hope you will enjoy this many times.
I loved Eddie - and, still do!
Loved him since I was 8 years old. He simply wows me.
Always been a big fan.. Great voice, brilliant singer.
A masterpiece from the most gifted singer of all time...Eddie Fisher.
+Margie E So glad you enjoyed this.
Listening to this performance I am stunned at Eddie Fisher's talent. He was the BEST
He had a clear, strong and gifted voice...
Why have we not got anyone that can compare with the singers of 1950s instead of what we have today
Astonishing!
Fabulous natural voice. He didn't work with qualified voice teacher till late in his career. He stated he was advised not to take lessons for fear it would hurt his natural gift.In an interview he lamented that was a mistake.Mario Lanza was asked what he learned from a famous couch and teacher. He stated he was taught how to support his voice, which enabled him to sing without fatigue.Part of a singers talent and responsibility is too determine what suggestions are good for him to follow.

Lanza the greatest tenor; fisher the greatest baritone
great Memories.
When was this performance.
October through November 1962. And the next year an LP recorded live at the Broadway concert was released.
He had a great voice, but as a man, he left much to be desired. Lousy father, lousy husband.
