I idolised Eddie Fisher saw him at London Palladium in the late fifties he had Debbie Reynolds with him and I with some other fans met him at the stage door with Debbie and asked them for their autographs my name being Swann he sang swannee river to me I was completely star struck I was about 18or 19 at the time I was in seventh heaven for ages.he had a great voice.🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤❌❌❌❌❌
I never really listen to Eddie Fisher, becauss of Debbie and Liz situation. Who am I to Judge we all judged at the end. What a great talent, his.vouce was beautiful. We have to thank utube for bring tge past back ti us. How lucky we are. Thank you Eddie I really enjoyed listening to you.
I knew Eddie. The drugs and his fairly careless way of managing his life damaged his pipes sadly. He struggled with keeping time when he sang and yet prior to the mid 60’s he managed to still hit those high G’s. But drugs and drinking ruined the voice and then his private life caused him to simply lose hid way to where he was nearly homeless till Betty saved him. We talked till 5 months before he died. He led a fascinating yet troubling life. He fell so far and hard. It was so tragic.
A GREAT GREAT Voice ... i Loved him with his beautiful voice in Anytime, Forgive me, and later when his voice deepened. He was SO darn cute... i met him when he was young and thrn later spoke on the phone to him from his buddy Guy Mitchell's house for quite a long time.
Why did his dalliances ruin his career? FS did the same thing and his voice was weak compared to Eddie's. I don't approve of his personal life, but his voice is simply divine. The finest baritone of the 20th century hands down.
Nancy, I’ve just found this singer, by sheer luck, take away, what you were saying, about his career, this man Was the Best of the Best I agree about his voice 🌷😉
Bing Crosby on his death bed outsang this moron by a trillion. The finest baritone of the 20th century is Bing Crosby without any question. Eddie Fisher is a JOKE compared.
Your comparison is senseless. Eddie's treatment of friends and family stunk. Sinatra in comparison was loyal and giving. . Drugs ravaged Fishers voice and relationships. It's impossible to compare their voices ......apples and oranges. Both for sure were great singers but no doubt Sinatra was and is legendary .
On this day in 1968 {April 13th} Eddie Fisher performed "Mame" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... Two years earlier in September 1966 RCA Victor Records released his "Games That Lovers Play", b/w "Mame", neither side made Billboard's Top 100 chart... Between 1948 and 1967 the Philadelphia native had sixty-two records records on Billboard's Top 100 chart, twenty-five made the Top 10 with four* reaching #1, "Wish You Were Here" for 1 week in 1952, "I Walking Behind You" for 7 weeks in 1953, "Oh! My Pa-Pa" for 8 weeks in 1954, and "I Need You Now" for 3 weeks in 1954... Edwin John Fisher passed away at the age of 82 on September 22nd, 2010... May he R.I.P. * He just missed having a fifth #1 record when his "Any Time" peaked at #2 {for 1 week} in 1951, the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "Wheel of Fortune" by Kay Starr...
One of the classic male voices of the 20th century! Carrie Fisher was 10 years old at this time. So sad she is gone at age 60. Carrie was born on October 21, 1956 to Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. They divorced when Carrie was 2 years old.
A truly legendary pop finger. He ranks right up there with Perry, Frank and Bing. Too bad he became yet another victim of the wiles and charms of Liz. That destroyed his career. Just too bad. But to me he'll always be one of my very favorites. I have many singles and albums by him. One of my favorites being his album in tribute to Al Jolson. He captured the essence of Jolson without imitating him.
A heavenly voice. He was disproportionately punished by a hypocritical society that ruined his entire career. Liz Taylor in my opinion made a big mistake choosing Burton over Eddie Fisher. Eddie truly loved her and would not have cheated on her all those years like Burton did.
An outstanding vocalist, one of the best ever.

Great performance....Listen to the ovation at the end!...At his 1960's, deeper baritone best....
Beautiful voice.

I have this show on a DVD, and Eddie was just great. What an ovation at the end of this song!
I have forgotten how well Eddie Fisher could sing!
He can really sing. WOW!
Great singer.
Amid all the Liz-Eddie-Debbie scandal then Liz-Eddie-Burton scandal...people forget just how good he really was.
The greatest singer ever.

Funny seeing Marty's laugh when the 3 young men hit one sour note!
Sorry, the first sentence should have read "A truly great pop singer!"

He had the world at his feet and threw it away.
BIG TIME!

I am also a big fan of Eddie's and I love his Jolson album too. Have seen him many times in person, the last time in 1994 and he still sounded great.
