    I just found you! What an awesome teacher you are. I just bought my Thor 1341, and I'm so happy to see you sewing the entire bag on your 1341. I look forward to watching more of your videos. :) Your bag and piping is gorgeous.

    I love the vinyl you used for this bag! You make piping look so easy. It's the one thing I am so intimidated by.

      I thank you "sew"much for your kind words. I hope to be back very soon. I am making kids backpack for the ones who have been in the California Fire. I was raised out in that area for over 30 years, and it breaks my heart to see that all gone. So, my way of helping with all the supplies I have is to give back. I should be able to make videos soon. Please let me know what you would like me to make a video of to help you.
      I thank you again.

    Thank you very much for your very useful video ! I have a question however : when I open my zipper pocket on the front, I see the wrong side of my lining (which is colored on the right side and white on the other side), as this lining is the interior of the flip pocket... is it normal ? is there a way to avoid that ?? thanks and greetings from Paris (France) 😁

      Hello, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I am looking at the video I made, and I looked over the section of the front pocket and not sure what you are asking. I really tried to explain that part of the pocket the best I could. Maybe If you could go back and watch that part again and let me know if that is the part of the video you help with. thank you for watching and I hope I can help you. I won't give up on that.

      @@beckymccarron5302 Hello, it's not your video but I think the way the bag is made (the pattern) ; I explain lol: my lining has a white back and color on right side, yours is the same colour back and front. When you put the front slip pocket lining (23'18 on the video), you put right side together, as the pattern says, so this lining will be the interior of the slip pocket when you will open it and if your fabric (lining) is not the same on wrong and right side, you will see the wrong side of the lining when you will open the slip pocket. But on the video we can't see because your lining is the same back and front. I don't know if I'm clear ? loool . And I thought that the best way when you don't have a lining same on back and front is to sew it wrong side, i.e. when you will return it you'll be able to see the right side when open the slip pocket. However, thanks a lot for your video that is very very helpful to me to follow the steps to sew this bag ! thank you !

      Hello, I think I know what you are saying... I use waterproof canvas that looks like the same color on both sides. However, there is a difference, the back is purple, but it is smooth, and the front is purple but has texture and a little darker is color. If you see the writing, I did on my pieces that is the back of the lining. So, your white is the back and should be the wrong side and your color is the right side. If this is what you are saying I am so sorry for the confusion. Let me know if I am on the right track.
      thank you

      @@beckymccarron5302 Yes that's it ! but it's not your fault at all ! it was just to say for people who use fabrics not printed the same on front and back to be careful when sewing lining at this moment ;) it should have been more beautiful if I've turned my fabric on the wrong side at this moment ; for the rest of the bag it has no importance as there is another main panel for the final lining ;)

    What a beautiful bag! I will be getting a Thor 1341 cylinder arm configured like yours. What tips do you have to sew comfortably and in an ergonomic way? What chair do you use?

    • @beckymccarron5302
      @beckymccarron5302  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you so much... You will love your cylinder arm. As far as a chair I use one from amazon. You do want to make sure that the chair can raise up pretty high. Sorry but I can't afford the chair we need for these machines. You could look at Lauren Mormino, she has a great chair and talks about it in some of her videos. I hope this help and again you will love your machine.

    Hi Becky, You mentioned a 5/32 piping foot and 5/32 cording for this particular bag. I know that piping feet come in various sizes. My question is: Do you use a 5/32 piping foot for most or all of your piping as well as the same size cording, or do you use various sizes of feet and piping, depending on the bag pattern? Also, is 5/32 in size pretty standard when piping most bags? Thank you so much. I am watching all of your videos and learning so much. Hugs, and have a great day!

    • @beckymccarron5302
      @beckymccarron5302  Місяць тому +1

      Hi Trish, yes, I use the same size cord and piping foot for all my piping on my bags. There is a lot of different sizes as you know. I would say the 5/32 cord and foot is pretty standard. I really like this size. It works for me but if you have the change to try different sizes without investing a lot of money, go for it. that how we learn on what works for each of us. I hope that help and thank you so much for watching my videos. If you need anything else, please let me know. You have a great day too!!!
