Dionne Warwick & Smokey Robinson - Hits Duet!!!

Dionne Warwick and Smokey Robinson perform a memorable duet of their respective hits "Don't Make Me Over" and "Ooh Baby, Baby". They look and sound great. Lot's of uh, chemistry between these two LOL!

This is Michael Miller (Musical Director for Solid Gold). When I arranged this duet for Dionne & Smokey, I did it in Smokey's original key of "Ooo Baby Baby", but at the taping he said he needed it in a lower key. However, since I had already pre-recorded the band track and we didn't have digital pitch-change software back then, we simply slowed down the tape....which made this moment even more special. With each song being slower, Dionne & Smokey were able to pour their hearts into this! .

And pour out their hearts they did. I wish they went in the studio to record this. It would have been perfect for Dionne’s “Reservations For Two” Lp that came out in ‘87. This was a masterpiece.

This leaves me breathless. Smokey was in his addition at this time and I’m sure glad he overcame it. I’m glad he’s still with us entertaining. The guy still looks good too. Miss Warwick is sounding great too at 78 years old. Class acts right there.
